Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 679: Chapter 679: Keep it up and do well

“Their action is indeed instantaneous.

They really don’t give us any time to catch our breath.

At this time, sending out troops, it’s clear they intend to take advantage of our disarray and before we have confirmed what our next move should be, to further reduce the strength of our army.”

Ajiket frowned deeply.

In order to delay the Beastman Army’s capture of Benliang City, the Luo Ze Empire really stopped at nothing.

“Already this winter, we have suffered heavy losses.

Mustering so many troops to launch an attack on Benliang City, was already a miracle.

If Luo Ze Empire’s elite forces manage to breach the defending troops one by one, leaving our main forces surrounded and attacked from all sides, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Now we can only postpone the task of Benliang City, prioritize the rescue of the defense troops, to prevent further heavy casualties.”

Ajiket stated his thoughts and sought the opinions of other military officers in his unit.

The officers present discussed amongst themselves, with most agreeing with Ajiket’s view.

However, everything had come too suddenly.

Although they had begun to assemble a support force, many officers disagreed on just how many troops should be dispatched.

Daring to launch a surprise attack on the plains before winter had ended, the humans were extremely confident.

Just how many Luo Ze Elites had infiltrated the human forces, or how many troops would be needed to defeat them, no Beastman officer had any idea.

“General Tu Dou, I remember the Lu Hua Army once said that it was you and Vice General Kun Ka who dealt with the active Luo Ze Elite forces in the Long Boots Region.”

General Dongmu clenched his fists in righteous indignation,

“Our other units have not been spared from their losses at their hands.

It seems that only our West Fifth Army has completely resolved the turmoil behind us.

This time, let’s together turn the tables on them.”

It was unclear if General Dongmu had done this intentionally, but many officers were casting their gazes toward Yang Yu, seeking an answer.

They too wished to replicate any successful example.

And Yang Yu did not disappoint, explaining the handling method of the West Fifth Army,

“That time, the main reason was that the Lu Hua Army General made a correct judgment, sending an elite core team led by Vice General Kun Ka, adopting an elite versus elite strategy.

However, adopting this approach only worked because of the particular circumstances of the Long Boots Region, where there were but a few key fortresses, allowing us ample time.

Unfortunately, despite repelling those Luo Ze Elites, our losses were extremely severe.”

Yang Yu paused, then expressed his opinion,

“The elites trained by the Luo Ze Empire, facing the elites we managed to gather, were still able to fight ten of ours at a time, demonstrating their tremendous strength.

Ordinary soldiers stand no chance against them, equivalent to delivering themselves to the enemy on a platter.

Our army has suffered heavy casualties, avoiding unnecessary losses is crucial to ensure the troops have enough live force to deal with subsequent battles.

Do not misunderstand my words, my previous statement doesn’t mean we can ignore those Luo Ze Elites, rather we should thoroughly tear them to shreds.

At the very least, their numbers must be reduced to the point where the remnants can no longer safely retreat.

Otherwise, today’s events will undoubtedly repeat themselves.”

What Yang Yu said coincided with Ajiket’s own thoughts. Ajiket pondered for a moment before saying,

“Indeed, we can no longer let them run rampant.

When fighting the fires, I learned from the soldiers’ mouths that they probably number less than two hundred.”

It must be made up of different groups.

The giant dragon has rules: the group that registers must operate as an entire troop if they want to follow another group’s activities.

According to the intelligence reported back, they have split up.

Sending out some elite troops to launch an attack on them might be feasible.

Initiating a large-scale support operation might startle them into running away, just as they are now…”

As soon as Ajiket finished speaking, a new task popped up on Yang Yu’s panel, directly overriding the mission to capture Benliang City,

[Faction Emergency Task: Troublesome Encroaching Troops

Task Description: When capturing Benliang City, troublesome Luo Ze Elites launched a surprise attack on the Wansheng Country’s logistics troops, causing heavy losses.

Now, they have turned their sights on the defense troops outside the main forces, planning to further reduce Wansheng Country’s military strength, seize them by the throat, and ensure that Wansheng Country never rises again.

Task Requirement: Lead the assembled elite support troops to assist the defense forces, and inflict as much damage as possible on the enemy elites, making them think twice before striking Wansheng Country.

Reward: For each Luo Ze Elite defeated, raffle +1, Experience +10000, Gold Coin +10000

Special Reward: Kill or capture more than 20 Luo Ze Elites to get the title[Battlefield Supernova], boosting the Morale of troops you lead by 10%, Damage Reduction by 5%, and Endurance by 5%.

Over 40 people, title[Battlefield Dominator], boosting Morale by 15%, Damage Reduction by 6%, and Endurance by 6%

…

…

Over 100 people, title[Battlefield Miracle Creator], boosting Morale by 25%, Damage Reduction by 9%, and Endurance by 9%

]

This was the first time Yang Yu encountered a task that forcefully replaced another without any warning.

He wasn’t sure if he would be able to return to the original mission of capturing Benliang City after completing this one.

Hmm…

Factors such as the speed of troop support, loss rate, and the total number of Luoze soldiers killed will all serve as the basis for Ajiket’s decision.

As long as Ajiket still has the will to capture Benliang City, that mission should come back…

“General Dongmu, your team has the Silver Wolf, and people who have fought those Luo Ze Elite troops. The swift support mission is entrusted to you.”

Holding a trident, Ajiket looked towards Dongmu, but he walked towards Yang Yu and gently patted his shoulder,

“Send more true powerhouses, aiming for both quality and quantity. Don’t be stingy with your troops—offer up powerhouses from your own armies…”

“Leave it to me! This time, it’s not only about support. It’s also time to settle the score for the crimes those humans have committed.”

Dongmu, all eagerness, immediately set off to select the elites from his troops and asked other generals to recommend their powerhouses. According to the location of the call for assistance, he organized support armies of elites and transported them quickly to the battlefield using the Silver Wolf.

The remaining troops were stationed near Benliang City, regrouping and also preventing the Benliang City garrison from striking and forming a pincer attack on the defense troops.

Attacking the city under Benliang City’s artillery fire was difficult, but the winter had not yet dispersed, and Ajiket was confident that if those garrison troops dared to come out, he could thoroughly defeat Benliang City’s garrison troops.

Riding on Lotcar, Yang Yu also set off with the elites assigned to him.

Speaking of elites…

These were about two hundred people, all selected from his own troops.

Since Dongmu wanted some individuals who could recount the previous situation, he also took quite a few experienced soldiers from Yang Yu’s troops to share with others, talking while on the move.

Yang Yu didn’t mind since troops should comply with reassignment.

However, the soldiers reassigned from Yang Yu’s troops looked at him with tearful eyes, as if to say, “General, won’t you try to retain us? With us, we can surely redeem our previous disgrace!”

To this, Yang Yu simply wanted to say, work hard, and spread the word of my valor.
