Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 683: Chapter 683: Someone Requests Support

The elite assassins of the Luo Ze Empire would never have dreamed that the first to lead an attack would actually be an inconspicuous Slime.

Up until his death, he still believed it was other assassins who sensed his actions, bringing about his demise.

What he couldn’t have imagined was that as long as not too many people attacked, He Meng, a single Slime, was capable of protecting Bai Jin and Iyas, allowing them to concentrate on their output.

If there were too many attackers, that was of no concern to He Meng.

Yang Yu, who had formed a contract with her, should have been keeping watch on the situation here at all times.

If there really was a large group of people intent on harming Bai Jin and the others, Yang Yu would have used “Support Charge” to come to their defense early on.

At present, Yang Yu was still standing his ground against various slowdown BUFFs, facing each of Luo Ze’s elites without the slightest worry.

After the minor interruption, Bai Jin and Iyas continued with their tasks, covering Yang Yu and engaging in battle with the incoming Luo Ze elites.

One after another, Luo Ze elites were flipped onto the ground, and Wansheng Country soldiers suddenly surged with boundless energy, using their bodies that were still free to move even in winter, to launch fierce attacks on the Luo Ze Empire’s Army.

Gradually, the situation on the battlefield tilted once again towards the side of the Beastmen.

However, not all areas were smooth-sailing like Yang Yu and the others, with many places stuck in a deadlock.

There was only one area that mirrored Yang Yu’s situation, where the tide was turning in one direction.

Only it wasn’t turning towards the Beastmen, but towards the Luo Ze Empire.

Black straight hair fluttered in the air as a young girl wearing a mask darted swiftly through reinforcements sent by the Wansheng Country Army.

Before Crimson blood could even stain her, she had arrived in front of another Beastman officer, and her Sharp Sword Blade, like a dance, left identical marks across the chests of the Beastmen.

Even if some Beastmen did not fall instantly due to these attacks, other Luo Ze Elites would swarm forward to deliver the finishing blows.

They were extremely vicious in their strikes, and if the elites of Wansheng Country did not surrender quickly, they would mercilessly claim the lives of the Beastmen.

In the end, of the four thousand Beastmen in the defense force, under the encirclement of Luo Ze’s troops of two thousand and a squad of fifty Luo Ze Elites, only about one thousand two hundred remained alive, raising their hands to surrender.

The two hundred elites in charge of support also suffered heavy losses, with just over thirty surrendering. Roughly sixty managed to escape on Silver Wolves, with the rest meeting a gruesome death under the butchering blades of Luo Ze’s Elites.

Flicking the blood from her Sword Blade, Aslit’s face showed no emotion,

“Thought that Wansheng Country sending elites would offer some challenge, but in the end, they are just this. The only ones who could pose a challenge to me are probably those Beastman Generals.”

Muttering to herself, Aslit recalled the General Wu Zi she had defeated,

“No. As a Beastman General, unable to block my strike, the disparity in strength among Wansheng Country’s Generals is too great.

If it weren’t for the rules set by the giant dragon, I could meet many more Powerful individuals.

To bump against those at S+ and above, I would certainly become stronger…”

Suddenly, a face that bore an uncanny resemblance to her own, wearing a pure and innocent smile, appeared before her eyes, and Aslit’s face under the mask twisted in distortion.

The true genius disdains participating in this war, using such methods to improve themselves.

That guy is surely still leading a carefree life somewhere, just you wait and see, I will make you pay for your idleness.

The contorted face gradually relaxed, wiping away the vexing images from before her eyes, Aslit tightened her grip on the hilt of her sword.

As Kui Yi had said, the reason she had come this far was entirely due to the power of the Empire.

Even though this war was so utterly tedious, to repay this debt of gratitude, she had to endure and see this war through to its end.

“Hand over the soldiers who surrendered, to the troops. We move on to the next location. Let’s head to General Duoshi of Wansheng Country.”

As she issued the order to her troops, Aslit took a step forward, the other Luo Ze Elites exchanged looks, wanting to say something, but in the end, said nothing.

It was not until a liaison officer hurried over to one of Luo Ze’s Elites and whispered a few words.

Only then did that reluctant Luo Ze Elite approach Aslit and speak,

“Captain Aslit, a nearby Luo Ze’s troop has sent a report, they have been attacked by the elite of Wansheng Country and suffered heavy losses. They have started retreating toward the nearby city.

They are hoping for our support!

They also emphasized that the troop is exceptionally powerful and includes an extremely troublesome person.

Even Captain Aslit would definitely not be a match for him.”

The last remark was something that Luo Ze Elite had added himself because he thought that if spoken without embellishment, Aslit might just scoff and say that General Duoshi’s situation was more pressing, thus abandoning the task of assisting nearby.

After all, upon their return to the settled town, from the National Guardian General, they only received orders to assist Luo Ze Empire’s Army in annihilating Wansheng Country’s Army.

The specific actions they should take depended on the situation on the battlefield.

The captain of an elite squad had absolute decision-making power.

This Luo Ze Elite, fearing that Aslit only wished to engage with powerful adversaries, might miss the best opportunity to provide help.

Though this Luo Ze Elite himself was exceedingly strong, compared to Aslit, he was but a minor sorcerer before a great wizard.

He did not possess the courage of Kui Yi to openly confront Aslit, telling such a lie required a considerable resolution from him.

After all, the incident where Aslit disarmed an instructor during training for making fun of her was still vivid in the mind of this Luo Ze Elite.

Upon hearing what the Luo Ze Elite had said, Aslit remained silent, and the scene fell into deathly quiet.

The Luo Ze Elite who had just spoken couldn’t help but swallow nervously, anxiously waiting for Aslit’s response—just give me an answer, will you? Don’t just stand there, every minute we delay, who knows how many troops will suffer at the hands of those vicious Beastmen.

About five or six minutes later, Aslit finally placed her hand on her mask, lightly adjusting it,

“Is everything you said true?”

There was no emotion in Aslit’s speech.

The Luo Ze Elite nodded repeatedly,

“Their issuing of such an urgent distress signal must mean they are facing an extremely formidable opponent.

Oh, and the liaison officer said that the battle turned sharply against them after a man with colorful hair joined the fray.

The powerful enemy they spoke of must be the Colorful-haired Masked Man!”

“Colorful-haired Masked Man?” Aslit murmured to herself, if Kui Yi had lost quite a few men because of him, then there was no need for hesitation, “Relay my order, provide support.”
