Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

On the Sailuomen Plain during winter, engaging in direct battle with the Beastman Army was an exceptionally difficult task for the humans.

The two thousand soldiers of Luo Ze’s troops who dared to confront the Beastman Army head-on did so solely because of Aslit and her unit’s presence.

The strength of Aslit was clear for all to see.

These soldiers of Luo Ze, even the officers, felt they did not need to do much; they just needed to hold their ground, and Aslit, leading her elite warriors, would be able to carve a bloody path through the Beastman Army, leading them towards victory.

As long as Luo Ze’s elites could maintain their combat strength, the collisions with medium and small-sized groups were not scary at all.

However, contrary to everyone’s expectations, the Luo Ze elites, who should have been cutting a swath through the battlefield, were instead tied down by Wansheng Country’s troops.

Especially those Luo Ze elites who led the charge riding demonic horse-like creatures.

A few enormous Silver Wolves easily knocked the horse-like demons to the ground, forcing the Luo Ze elites on their backs to enter the fray.

Soon, small groups of Beastmen surrounded them.

Even with superior skills, the Luo Ze elites couldn’t withstand the greater numbers of the enemy.

Yang Yu’s troops separated the Luo Ze elites one by one, keeping a watchful eye on them.

The officer leading the main force tried to offer support but collided with the incoming defense troops of Wansheng Country, plunging into chaos.

Riding the Lotcar, Bai Jin and Iyas wandered throughout the battlefield.

With intelligence as an attribute, Bai Jin was definitely at the General level.

Having studied at the All Things Library and receiving guidance from Tico and Li Yan, and after spending a lot of time laying a solid foundation, Bai Jin’s magic grew more adept, able to avoid the brunt and break through the arrays set by the Luo Ze elites, inflicting heavy damage.

Iyas played a dual role, providing healing for the injured soldiers while swiftly supporting any groups in crisis with her bows and arrows, to prevent the Luo Ze elites from breaking through the containment and coordinating attacks.

There were many factors that could determine the situation on the battlefield.

What could be certain was that without Iyas and Bai Jin, the situation on the battlefield might have been worse than imagined.

At least in a short amount of time, this Beastman Army would not have been able to annihilate nearly twenty or more Luo Ze elites so swiftly.

And the deaths of the Luo Ze elites wouldn’t have triggered a chain reaction so quickly.

On seeing so many of her batch of Luo Ze elites getting injured, Aslit first was surprised, then decisive.

As the casualties in her troop increased, especially after seeing so many elites die, many Luo Ze soldiers, though still orderly, were beginning to lose their will to fight.

If they didn’t retreat while being encircled by so many Wansheng Country soldiers, the consequences would be unthinkable.

Even with Aslit’s formidable strength, it was difficult to combat so many soldiers of Wansheng Country without any protection.

Moreover, she was now injured due to Yang Yu’s slashing attack.

With her mask shattered, revealing teeth Aslit wished she could bite down on until they bled, she charged into a circle of encircling Beastman Soldiers to rescue an officer who was being surrounded.

The officer looked at Aslit with a bewildered face.

Being human, he didn’t have the Beastmen’s keen hearing and sense of smell; he could only rely on Messenger Soldiers skilled in Surveillance Magic to stay informed about the status of each unit.

The situation on the battlefield changes in the blink of an eye, and the turn of events in the fight between Yang Yu and Aslit was too abrupt.

At first, Aslit suppressed Yang Yu, and although the Messenger Soldier was surprised that Yang Yu could block Aslit’s attack, he still had confidence in Aslit, who had been trained by the Empire.

After all, Aslit’s invincible presence and desperate salvaging in the last battle were still deeply imprinted in his eyes.

Even as Yang Yu and Aslit went back and forth in the fight, the Messenger Soldier merely thought that Yang Yu was a bit tough and that Aslit would quickly deal with him.

The Messenger Soldier never anticipated that the duel would take such a drastic turn, and before he could report back, Aslit had already disengaged from the battlefield and arrived here.

”What are you spacing out for? Can’t you see the overall situation? Do I need to tell you what to do?”

Aslit glared fiercely at the officer, who hung his head, not daring to look directly at Aslit, and apologized,

”I’m sorry... I’ll make arrangements right away.”

Although he said this on the surface, the officer was full of resentment.

Can’t I see the current situation clearly?

If it weren’t for your unilateral disengagement from the troops and the waste of a lot of time without defeating your opponent, how could we possibly be waiting here so long without retreating?

These thoughts, of course, the officer dared not say to Aslit’s face. He could only resentfully glare at the Messenger Soldier, ordering him to rapidly spread the news to the other officers as quickly as possible so they could organize a retreat.

Sensing that Luo Ze’s troops wanted to retreat, the Beastman Army unleashed a tremendous momentum, intending to overwhelm Luo Ze’s troops in the vast sea of their forces again.

But Aslit, having successfully returned to her troops, first received brief healing from a Priest and then quickly rescued the surrounded Luo Ze Elite, allowing them to unite and unleash the strength that rightfully belonged to them, along with the rear-guard troops, to cover the rest as they retreated.

As she cut down soldiers on the battlefield, Aslit also kept an eye on Yang Yu’s movements.

She had no idea what that man was planning or what kind of trick he might pull.

All she knew was that if that man dared to attack her with those dirty tricks again, she would undoubtedly tear him to pieces!

However, Yang Yu had no intention of continuing the fight against Aslit. He casually found a Priest to heal his wounds, then approached General Shi Gua and suggested in a low voice,

”General Shi Gua, a moderate pursuit is enough; don’t go too deep. I’m already out of stamina, and the soldiers are also very exhausted.

If that woman recovers her fighting strength, we will suffer even more losses.”

Yang Yu’s words were half true, half false. Even after fighting while injured for some time, which significantly depleted his stamina, he still had a third of his strength left.

If he were to fight, he could actually continue to battle Aslit.

Only, who knew how many rare shields would be destroyed in the process.

More importantly, Yang Yu also didn’t have complete confidence in defeating Aslit. Once she integrated into the troops, the probability of taking her life was even less than ten percent.

The risks of letting her go were foreseeable. Still, as a user of the Broken Wind Style, Aslit surely had other life-saving tricks up her sleeve.

That is to say, she would escape no matter what.

Given that, there was no reason to risk the lives of soldiers who had already endured two battles.

General Shi Gua accepted Yang Yu’s proposal and chose not to pursue the fleeing troops, instead focusing their forces to surround the Beastman Soldiers and Elites responsible for the rear-guard, compelling them to surrender.
