Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu did not escape after sheathing his sword and actively retreating, but instead charged once again toward Aslit.

Given Yang Yu’s current strength, it was very difficult to deliver a decisive strike, and his opponent was a swordsman who specialized in attack and speed.

Even if he could dodge an attack once, it would be hard to remain comfortable after the opponent introduced new skills.

If only he had ”Taunt”. While Bai Jin bombarded Aslit with a dense attack, or at the moment when Aslit planned to attack Bai Jin, using ”Taunt” to shift Aslit’s hatred and control the direction of her attack would undoubtedly make the subsequent battle easier, rather than being forced into one-on-one combat as it was now.

Daring to charge alone signified confidence, backed by extremely powerful strength.

His own opportunities were scarce.

However, that did not mean there were no winning strategies.

Among the two potions Yang Yu had just drunk was a bottle of Thawing Potion.

After Aslit’s Wind of Formlessness left traces, Sailuomen Plain revealed its ferocious side again to Yang Yu.

The time needed for his torn clothes to recover allowed the cold once again to invade Yang Yu’s body, with frostbite status faintly visible on his status panel.

Aslit must be wearing similar garments.

If he could find a way to make a cut in her clothes, it would certainly make her retreat in fear of frostbite.

Seeing Yang Yu attack again, Aslit swung her sword blade.

Just as the blade was about to touch him, Yang Yu ducked low, amazingly evading Aslit’s attack and struck out toward her lower abdomen.

The sharp blade swept across Aslit’s black garment, revealing her pale abdomen, but Yang Yu had no time to appreciate the beauty, especially since her abdomen bore several abs and a terrifying scar.

Hardly any aesthetic appeal... probably.

Aslit also faintly sensed what Yang Yu was attempting, and spun her blade back toward Yang Yu’s head, but Yang Yu raised his shield and caught Aslit’s blade.

However, just as Yang Yu changed the grip on his blade, intending to cut a triangular piece of fabric, he discovered that the healing speed of Aslit’s War Garment was beyond imagination.

Almost instantly, the torn gap was connected by several threads of silk, creating the appearance of a black face, which gave Yang Yu a sinister smile.

Realizing this, Yang Yu did not let his blade move in the planned direction but forcefully twisted the blade in another direction, stabbing it vertically into the snow.

”Thorny Binding.”

Instantly, countless thorns surged from the ground, entwining Aslit from all directions.

Facing an unseen skill that appeared suddenly, Aslit didn’t know what Yang Yu was up to. Enduring the fleeting chill on her abdomen, Aslit forcefully escaped the range of the growing thorns.

The Thorny Binding used by Yang Yu could not grow indefinitely.

Moreover, under the harsh cold wind of the Sailuomen Plain, the Magic Power within these thorns would also be frozen.

As the thorns grew, they froze into spikes covered with ice crystals.

To Yang Yu’s surprise, Aslit chose not to cut through the frozen thorns but to bypass this cluster of thorns instead.

”Could it be that my unexpectedly devious attack made her wary of my unknown skill?”

Not achieving the outcome he had anticipated, Yang Yu rethought how to shift the situation to his advantage, but he couldn’t come up with a better method immediately.

But this subtle movement from Aslit provided Yang Yu with some inspiration; as a user of the Broken Wind Style, she was likely to use that move...

Avoiding the frozen thorns, Aslit’s sharp blade once again swung toward Yang Yu.

Suddenly, through the shattered mask, Aslit saw a strange smile on Yang Yu’s face. He crouched down, and the Illusion Shield suddenly unfolded before him, wrapped in an instant in blood-red.

Rather than retreating, Yang Yu advanced again, launching another attack at her.

This blood-red shield was the ”Red Blood Path” of the Blood Lion. Aslit knew this move.

Raising her Sword Blade, Aslit drew a cross in front of her chest and executed ”Broken Wind Style. Wind-breaking,” creating a cross-shaped azure Wind Blade that suddenly formed in front of her and charged together with her toward Yang Yu.

This skill continuously created sharp Wind Blades, stirring the surroundings and leaving behind straight, fine lines in the snow.

It was a skill similar to the Blood Lion’s ”Red Blood Path,” but this skill was more inclined to deal damage.

So, after weighing his options, Yang Yu had still chosen the Blood Lion’s ”Red Blood Path.”

One red, one blue, the two beams collided, and Yang Yu, with nearly half the strength of Aslit, was forced back step by step by the fierce barrage of attacks.

However...

Wasn’t his retreating speed a bit too fast?

A sense of unease rose in Aslit’s heart. She had originally thought this collision would be evenly matched, yet her side seemed to be winning.

Considering the punch Yang Yu had just thrown, his strength shouldn’t be this weak...

Had he ended the ”Red Blood Path” prematurely?

Noticing this, Aslit peered through the azure at Yang Yu’s shield and indeed saw the red on the Illusion Shield abruptly vanish, leaving only the dazzling Illusion Shield.

What exactly was this man planning?

Aslit also wanted to stop the ”Broken Wind Style. Wind-breaking,” swinging her Sword Blade, trying once more to exchange blows with Yang Yu, when suddenly something black passed before her eyes and evanescently went through her body.

What was that?

No sooner had Aslit wavered for a moment than Yang Yu’s voice arose beside her ear,

”Shadow Flow. Shadow Power,” ”Shadow Stream. Illusionary Avatar,” ”Shadow Stream. Secret Technique. Instant Prison Shadow Kill Array.”

Shadow Stream?

The name echoed in Aslit’s ears. Yang Yu turned his back toward her and slashed at the empty air.

Out of the corner of Aslit’s eye, she caught sight of a phantom shadow, identical to Yang Yu, slashing toward her.

Was this a school of manipulating shadows?

The instant Yang Yu turned away, Aslit judged him to pose no threat and spun her body to slash at the shadow behind her, but to no avail.

Aslit’s Sword Blade merely passed through the black shadow as it continued to swing its blade towards her. Aslit bitterly regretted her concern for the shadow behind her, thinking instead she should have dismembered this man who dared to show her his back.

If Aslit had really done that, she might have been able to strike Yang Yu once more.

But that would likely have been it.

And the price of a failed slash was entirely within Yang Yu’s acceptable range.

As for what Aslit was thinking, she was completely correct.

However, what she should have been angry about wasn’t that she couldn’t stop the shadow behind her from attacking but that... the shadow behind couldn’t attack at all!

Turning around, the shadow’s hand and the Sword Blade suddenly disappeared, making a gesture as if pulling something out.
