Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Chapter 658: Chapter 658: Damn, Aren’t You Guys Friendly Forces?

Marco commanded his troops to retreat, but they hadn’t gone far when the keen hearing of the Beastmen detected that a large number of Human armies had blocked their retreat.

“Damn it! These damn Humans! I want to exterminate them all!”

Seething with anger, Marco issued a command to his troops,

“Prepare for sacrifice; we must slice through their defense like a sharp knife. Only then can we survive!”

After saying this, Marco gripped his Long Spear tightly and charged at the forefront against the Luo Ze Empire’s Army.

Leading Extermination Force 005, Vice General Matt Triffin drew his sword from his waist, swung it forward, and countless Heavy Soldiers lifted their hefty Shields to stand at the forefront of the troops, forming a solid Shield wall.

Light Cavalry burst out from both sides of Extermination Force 005, intending to use their high mobility to carry out assaults on Wansheng Country’s troops, executing flanking attacks from the sides.

In the past, facing such tactics, the Beastman Army would split into two to deal with the different directions of Luoze’s Light Cavalry, avoiding a direct confrontation with the Heavy Soldiers up front.

The Luo Ze Empire had time and again used such tactics to break their forces.

This time, Marco no longer wanted to run.

There were quite a few Human armies ahead, but their number was far fewer than his own troops. It was the winter season, when Humans were less mobile, and the Beastmen still had the strength for one more battle.

However, Marco overlooked something.

If it were the Beastman Army of the past, they indeed could quickly tear open a breach on this Shield wall formed by the Heavy Soldiers…

But the Beastman Army that had been fleeing for days lived under constant stress, suffering from demoralized Morale and nerve-wracking fatigue, in addition to not having had a proper meal in a long time, gradually unable to withstand the harsh cold of the Selovomen Plain…

Getting them to exert their full strength was easier said than done.

Marco swung his Long Spear, stabbing it into the gaps of the Shield Soldiers’ Shields.

With the Long Spear right beside their heads, the Luoze Soldiers didn’t panic with their lives under threat; they coordinated to use a group Skill “United Guard” to Reinforce their Defense.

But they still underestimated Marco’s resolve and Strength; Marco used brute force to create a breach in the Iron Wall defense line of the Luo Ze Empire.

However, the assault by the other Beastman Soldiers didn’t go smoothly; they encountered a cold, steel-hard defense.

Some were wounded by Long Spears thrust from behind the Shields, others were stabbed at close range by Shield Soldiers wielding Sword Blades.

Many Beastman Soldiers thus sacrificed their young lives for their nation.

But no one retreated; the Beastmen kept pushing forward relentlessly.

In front of the Luoze Soldiers tasked with defense, more and more Beastman corpses piled up, and the attacking Beastman Soldiers stepping over their comrades’ bodies surged over the thick Shield wall and into the midst of the enemy.

The soldiers of the Luo Ze Empire reacted swiftly, with weapons and Magic launching simultaneously. Before the Beastmen could cause major chaos within their ranks, they completely killed the infiltrating Beastman Soldiers.

But once a Beastman started this trend, others couldn’t stop themselves from following suit.

More and more Beastman Soldiers crossed the Shield wall, dragging their weary bodies into the Human troops to sow chaos, aiming to make the Human Shield defense line collapse.

“Five Thousand men, is it still too forced to hold back the frenzied, savage Beastmen?”

Sitting on his warhorse, Vice General Luo Ze, Matt Triffin, furrowed his brow as he watched the flanking Light Cavalry being overwhelmed by the Beastman Army,

“Where are the other troops? Why haven’t they arrived yet?

Liaison officer! Liaison officer! Make contact with them immediately and confirm!”

“We can’t hold out much longer!”

Hearing Deputy General Matt Triffin call for him, the liaison officer hurriedly took out the square box.

But before he could ascertain the status of the other troops, on the horizon where the dark night was gradually descending, a group of soldiers appeared, wearing armor just like theirs.

“General! General! Support is right behind us! Don’t worry! They outnumber us, and everything will be easily resolved once they arrive!”

Upon hearing the liaison officer’s words, Matt Triffin took a cursory glance behind him.

Seeing the support troops, as the liaison officer had described, rapidly approaching, Matt Triffin turned his attention back to the defense at hand,

“Our support troops have arrived! Hold the line, the moment they reach us, it will be the end for the beastmen! All of this is for the glory of the Empire!”

With the news of reinforcements arriving, the Luo Ze soldiers at the front line were invigorated, hunkering down to resist the increasingly ferocious beastman soldiers they were facing.

Amid the clamor of battle, the beastmen who were fighting with Extermination Force 005 suddenly heard some distinct low growls, as if telling them not to risk their lives like this, the reinforcements had come, and they could leave the rest to them.

The ones making those low growls were none other than the troops behind Extermination Force 005.

The troop grew closer, and the front-row soldiers slowly shed their armor, revealing large patches of muscle. Using their claws to cut the fishing line on their chins, pairs of pristine white beast ears perkily stood up from their hair.

Discarding their armor, they suddenly launched a charge.

Then, a voice sounded, “All units assault and support, show these beastmen your strength!”

Hearing this voice, Deputy General Matt Triffin felt somewhat relieved and was about to turn back to confirm which troop was coming to their support.

Who would have known that in the next moment, white clouds of mist rose, and several enormous Silver Wolves appeared behind them, accompanied by thousands of beastmen, attacking from behind.

The ones coming were not allies?

Matt Triffin was stunned, subconsciously raising his sword to block an approaching Silver Wolf’s lunge. But in the next moment, magic and bows and arrows rained down upon them.

Their troops, wholly focused on attacking and defending against Ajiket’s forces, had no way to face this sudden assault.

In the following instant, magic crackled and exploded amidst the army.

The defense line of Extermination Force 005 collapsed at that moment.

Following the beastman soldiers dressed in Luo Ze soldier’s armor, came a flood of beastman soldiers donned in Wansheng Country armor.

They too charged forth.

The situation was beyond salvation!

Matt Triffin was about to surrender, raising his hands high in the midst of his troops, when a Light Arrow, true to its mark, struck his throat and toppled him from his horse, followed swiftly by a pitch-black Sword Blade plunging into his chest.

Seeing this, the other beastman soldiers surged forward and swiftly ended the life of the Deputy General.

Other Luo Ze soldiers had their own judgments; seeing their commander slain and beset on all sides, one after another, they raised their arms and loudly cried for surrender.

All except one person.

Surrounded by countless surrendering soldiers, the liaison officer of Extermination Force 005 sought to sneak a message out about their ambush.

Just as the square box lit up, swathes of thorns grew from under the feet of the liaison officer, binding his arms.

Approaching through the surrendering troops was a man in Luo Ze Empire Armor, wearing a mask with hair of many colors. He pointed his sword towards the liaison officer of Extermination Force 005 and issued a cold ultimatum:

“Surrender? Or death?”
