Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Several days later.

Luo Ze Empire, Yenodore.

An aged General leapt from his carriage with agility that could make countless Luo Ze soldiers ashamed. Not far from him, a tall Snowman was waiting.

Several huge Snowmen of different postures stood beside that Snowman, along with Luo Ze Magicians ready to escort these Snowmen back.

The Luo Ze Magicians, compared with the Snowmen, were so small that they were easily overlooked when standing next to them.

Inside Yenodore City, Luo Ze soldiers bustled about; they were mostly well-trained and generally unflappable in the face of these Snowmen, yet they couldn’t help but stop and stare.

Fred handed over a small red token back to the elderly General,

”Moonment, this matter of humans should be handled by you.”

The old General, known as Moonment, raised his gaunt hand to receive the token from Fred, his upward gaze catching the frown on Fred’s face,

”What happened? You don’t seem very pleased. Did something go wrong with the winter Defense works?”

”It’s none of your concern.”

Moonment noticed a Snowman being supported by others, his eyes wrapped in bandages, and remembered the rumors he had heard,

”Is it that Colorful-haired Masked Man?”

Fred slightly grimaced, but quickly calmed down, ”Your information is really accurate; it’s because of that guy that my people have gone blind, and it’s uncertain how long they might take to recover.”

”Colorful-haired Masked Man has triggered so many incidents this winter, delaying the Empire’s plans—it’s only natural I know his name. It’s unbelievable that such a character appeared in such a crucial year.”

Moonment spoke calmly,

”But don’t worry, his emergence won’t significantly disrupt the progress of the war. We will do our best to capture him; consider it revenge for your people.”

”I hope so.

Anyway, the rest is a matter for you humans.

Now that those troops have been deployed, hurry up and end this war.

I remind you, that Colorful-haired Masked Man can withstand the second most powerful of your trained Luo Ze Elites. Never underestimate him.

We received this message and immediately withdrew from Benliang City at high speed.

Letting them find nothing has also eased some of my resentment.

Human schemes are indeed abundant; I hope we do not become enemies and can enjoy progress together.”

”That depends on the attitude of the Snowman race.”

”Hmph, I’m well aware, and we are seeking change too.”

Fred, along with the Snowmen, slowly disappeared into the streets with the Magicians escorting them, returning to the Snow Mountains where the Snowmen resided.

Watching Fred leave, Moonment slowly tucked away the token and began to walk.

About the details of the military withdrawal from Benliang City, he had already heard from General Wolishi.

Considering that Wansheng Country had broken their first plan, captured many of the encircling troops, and that many of the Luo Ze Elite had fallen in battle, General Wolishi had agreed to General Wulan’s proposal to secretly withdraw the Luoze soldiers from Benliang City, leaving only an empty city.

This was also to prevent the same mistake that had occurred in East View City.

In East View City, the cannons were somehow restricted, which was disadvantageous for defense. They should have retreated instantly, yet they believed they could still hold East View City, leading to a substantial loss of manpower.

This had a bit of a ”hindsight” feel to it, but in the result-oriented nation of the Luo Ze Empire, someone always had to take the blame, and this reason was well justified.

As the snow began to melt gradually, the winter restrictions of Selovomen on humans were fading, and it was hoped that the two generals guarding East View City could turn the situation around in the spring and summer.

Walking slowly, Moonment passed through one street after another, very satisfied with the spirit of the soldiers on the streets.

Whenever these Luoze soldiers saw Moonment, they would respectfully raise their hands and salute him, and Moonment would always nod and greet each soldier in return.

Entering a room like a coffee house, Moonment displayed his token. Led by an attendant, he traveled through a Teleportation Array to reach the underground of the Lord Mansion in the city.

There, on a spacious platform, the Magic Lamps shone brightly without rest, illuminating the platform twenty-four hours a day, where numerous Luoze Elite were training, their sounds ”Bam” echoing crisply around them.

At the entrance where Moonment entered, a middle-aged man with graying hair was observing each Luoze Elite’s movements with his arms crossed.

If these Luoze Elite were reluctant to train properly, the middle-aged man would personally give them the strictest training.

”Liu Xin, long time no see.”

Moonment approached the middle-aged man and greeted him.

”Long time no see, Moonment, what wind has blown you here?”

Responding in this way, the middle-aged man named Liu Xin did not focus his gaze on Moonment, but continued to watch the Luoze Elite training.

For seven years, he had hoped that the Luoze Elite he had trained would perform well on the battlefield. Unfortunately, their performance turned out to be worse than he imagined, resulting in significant losses.

He had counted on these Luoze Elite to apply what they had learned here on the battlefield, to secure a great victory, and to bolster their confidence for the upcoming war against the Human Demons.

Now they all looked disheveled.

Even if some of the Luoze Elite were smug, he had scolded them vehemently.

Liu Xin even wanted to throw them all back into a furnace to be re-forged.

Especially the one named Aslit, the second seat, who, in seeking greater advancement, had indulged in one-to-one combat, completely neglecting his own troops.

Hearing the reports from the elites following Aslit, Liu Xin wished he could slap Aslit on the spot, but in the end, he held back and decided to confine her in solitary for one month.

Sensing Liu Xin’s displeasure, Moonment did not intend to beat around the bush,

”Actually, I am here specifically to deliver a message from the Emperor. This message is extremely important. That’s why I personally came here.

The S-class adventure group ’Ice Cold Thorns,’ after conquering an Underground Maze, was attacked while exhausted by a creature resembling a saber-toothed tiger and a golden monkey, and were severely poisoned.

Three members died from it, and the other five were injured to varying degrees.

His Majesty hopes that during this brief truce, you would dispatch some reliable people to investigate this matter and keep an eye on any adventurers who have had past disputes with them, to prevent them from taking action against ’Ice Cold Thorns’ at this time.”

”Ugh, adventurer nonsense,” Liu Xin couldn’t help but click his tongue, ”I know, I’ll send reliable instructors. Anyway, there aren’t that many people needing training anymore, and their strength in the field has been against the rules, so it’ll give them something to do.”
