Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Red spurs protruded from the shield as Yang Yu brought it up to meet Aslit’s sword blade, and the sound of metal clashing rang out once again.

A red electric current flashed suddenly from Yang Yu’s shield, traveling along the sword blade that emitted a cyan glow, into Aslit’s heart.

The sensation was like a woodpecker furiously pecking at Aslit’s heart, but Aslit didn’t even frown at the slight piercing pain.

Over the years, she had already endured much more severe pain than this.

In comparison to those, this slight sting was nothing more than a minor irritant.

With even greater strength in her hands, Aslit swung her cyan blade and actually shaved off all the spurs on Yang Yu’s shield, leaving behind a deep gouge.

Her gaze returned to the equipment interface, where the notification of significant damage to the shield and the greatly reduced defense attribute caught Yang Yu’s eye.

This was, after all, a rare quality shield, and yet it was so easily damaged...

Apart from being overpowered in strength, the quality of her sword blade must be above mine!

The shield was damaged, but Yang Yu had no time to switch to another.

Aslit’s boost from ”Avoidance Acceleration” hadn’t ended yet, and on top of that, she had used another boost skill,

”Ghost Dance.”

A sinister Evil Ghost with bared fangs and claws rose from behind Aslit, merging into her and further increasing Aslit’s attack power, speed, and armor penetration by 10% each.

After being kicked fiercely by Yang Yu, Aslit was not angered but even more excited.

Aside from that guy, it had been a long time since anyone had touched her body or caused her harm so simply and unexpectedly.

Aslit’s already sharp blade seemed to become even keener.

With a push off her feet, Aslit swiftly closed the gap to Yang Yu, her blade tracing a bizarre, fleeting curve through the air.

At that moment, several Frost Ice Arrows swiftly flew through the air, and Aslit’s sword, originally swinging towards Yang Yu, was forced to defend.

Bai Jin’s Frost Ice Arrows shattered into Ice Crystals under her sword blade in an instant.

Taking advantage of the situation, Iyas shot a supporting Light Arrow, intending to heal Yang Yu.

However, Yang Yu raised his sword and sliced the healing Light Arrow in two.

Iyas was somewhat surprised, but Yang Yu’s subsequent actions provided Iyas with the reason why he did it.

His rare duel was disrupted, and suddenly, Aslit accelerated and rushed toward Bai Jin and the others.

Once the nuisances were dead, there would be no one left to interfere.

A streak of blood-red flashed in his eyes as Yang Yu activated ”Sudden Killing Intent” and accelerated suddenly, catching up with Aslit.

In a critical moment, Yang Yu stepped in front of Lotcar, adjusting his shield and consecutively executing ”Copper Wall Iron Curtain” and ”Steel Body.”

Instantly, Aslit’s blade stabbed into the gap she had created earlier in the shield, the sharp blade piercing through Yang Yu’s shield and into his left shoulder.

”Retreat, go deal with the other attacking Luo Ze Elites. I’ll hold this position for now, don’t come near here.”

Yang Yu’s voice was quiet, and he didn’t need to speak loudly, as the Beastmen in his team could hear and would carry out his commands.

Bai Jin was preparing new magic, and Iyas too slowly drew her bows and arrows, intending to provide support.

Lotcar acted according to Yang Yu’s words, immediately moving into action, distancing himself from the center of the battle between Yang Yu and Aslit, rushing with Bai Jin and Iyas towards Luo Ze’s troops that were surging forth.

”Yang…”

Beneath the disheveled hair was pure worry. Bai Jin understood Yang Yu’s intention. Aslit moved too swiftly—if they were to dash into the troops like that, there would definitely be a bloodbath, and neither herself nor Iyas would escape unscathed.

The only one who could keep up with Aslit’s speed was Yang Yu. Only by holding them back... no, by inflicting heavy casualties on the soldiers and the Luo Ze Elites attempting to attack, could she aid Yang Yu.

With that thought, Bai Jin switched her magic.

The Silver Wolves also led Wansheng Country’s elites around the battleground where Yang Yu and Aslit were engaged.

Aslit’s sword blade pierced through Yang Yu’s shoulder, drops of fresh blood trickled from his back, freezing into blood beads that scattered onto the white snow behind him.

”To keep up with my speed is truly unexpected,” Aslit’s words were filled with scorn and pity. ”But, this is as far as you go.”

He thought he had encountered a worthy opponent, yet to be wounded in such a manner...

It was like choosing one’s own death.

Aslit flicked her sword blade, but Yang Yu instead moved towards the direction the blade was pulled out, allowing the blade to plunge deeper into his shoulder.

”What is this man... trying to do?

It’s not good for slashing when he’s this close!”

The moment this thought flashed through her mind, Aslit saw the sword in Yang Yu’s hand disappear suddenly, and a huge fist charged straight towards her face.

Aslit instinctively turned her head to dodge Yang Yu’s punch, and at that moment, she felt a powerful force through the hilt she was gripping.

Yang Yu had used a shield and his shoulder to drive Aslit’s long blade, distracting her attention and causing the blade to slip out of Aslit’s control because of the force.

Seeing the hilt of the long blade about to slip past her, and Yang Yu’s fist rushing towards her again, Aslit found herself in a dilemma.

— Without the blade, she would lose.

With the split-second realization, Aslit let her instinctively dodging face meet Yang Yu’s fist, her arms stretching straight to firmly grasp the hilt.

Yang Yu’s fist thus smashed onto Aslit’s mask, countless cracks instantly spreading across it, Aslit took Yang Yu’s attack with her face, while her hands forcefully yanked her sword blade out from Yang Yu’s shield and shoulder.

Then, Aslit stepped back a few paces, remaining alert to Yang Yu’s movements.

This time, Yang Yu did not pursue the attack but used the brief respite to down two potions, and took out a smaller and lighter shield.

Cracking sounds came from the mask, a piece shattered, letting in more light, and the bright white snow made Aslit’s vision blur slightly.

It was at that moment, an orange glow flared up on Yang Yu’s sword blade, and he was instantly in front of Aslit.

Swinging the long blade, the blood on its edge slid over its smooth surface, bright red blood freezing into ice beads midair as Aslit’s blade and Yang Yu’s sword collided.

”This man! What is going on with him, he’s like a machine without feelings!”

An incredible force came through the sword blade. Aslit took a deep breath, preparing to use the skill ”Close Combat Wind Strike” that could push back the opponent a short distance, allowing her to withdraw her blade from the stalemate and launch another fierce attack.

But Yang Yu had no intention of clashing head-on with her.

This strike had cost him his Life Value, to be even with Aslit.

If the effect of ”Double-sided Slash” ended, given the gap in strength between them, Yang Yu had no capital to cross swords with Aslit.
