Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Moreover, since the engagement banquet last time, the Empire has specifically sent someone to invite him, which also shows the Empire’s attitude.

So Chen Ming just nodded amicably, saying nothing else.

The Empire’s people didn’t mind Chen Ming’s somewhat cold attitude, and the holographic projection disappeared in front of the two.

After the Empire’s people left, Bian Gaoxuan let out a breath and was about to say something more to Chen Ming when his terminal suddenly lit up.

He glanced down and said to Chen Ming, ”Our research institute is collecting a name for that dimension of infection.”

”Oh, they’re asking me, right?”

”Uh... yes.”

Although he is the head of the interaction experiment between Crimson Dimension and Phase Space, the Fan Chao Research Institute is actually responsible for the research on the Crimson Dimension by others.

It’s just that Bian Gaoxuan happened to have studied phase technology, and later got transferred to the dimensional infection research department, gaining experience in both directions, and doing quite well.

So when Chen Ming discovered the interaction between the two dimensions, he initiated and took up this project.

But he indeed isn’t qualified to name that dimension.

Only Chen Ming, the only one who has repeatedly contacted the dimensional infection source without any impact and is still conducting deep research on that dimension, has that authority.

Of course, the previous president could also name it, but he did not give a formal name before due to feeling not sufficiently understanding of this dimension.

Typically during research, and when communicating with Chen Ming, this dimension was used as a substitute name.

It seems the president and Fan Chao Research Institute have negotiated and decided to formally name the dimensional infection source dimension today.

Today indeed counts as a special day.

Humanity’s research into the Crimson Dimension and Phase Space encountered a severe failure, a day worth commemorating.

”Then just call it Crimson Dimension directly.”

”Okay.”

Although Bian Gaoxuan thought Chen Ming’s decision was a bit casual, he sent the name back.

After saying a few more words through the terminal, Bian Gaoxuan put down the terminal again, seeming to speak to Chen Ming and himself: ”This experiment was really dangerous.”

”But we absolutely will not give up future experiments, this is the power we must strive for to combat it after enduring the aftereffects of dimensional infection twice.”

”Quite good.”

Chen Ming replied casually, ”The aftereffects of dimensional infection may last twenty years, as long as we achieve results within ten years and shorten the remaining time, it will all be worth it.”

Judging from the scale of today’s meeting, this matter will certainly be given heightened importance in the future.

Chen Ming can temporarily not worry too much, as there will certainly be many people and resources invested in it.

He will just sit back and enjoy the results when the time comes.

Though he still needs to dedicate some effort to learning.

Chen Ming’s holographic projection also disappeared in the meeting room.

However, his communication with the president wasn’t over.

The president asked Chen Ming another question at this time.

”Is there any detail about this experiment that we can talk about more?”

This question hadn’t occurred to Chen Ming, but in his view, the rift was worth discussing further.

An Wuping had actually triggered a rift experiment once but, due to Chen Ming being the experiencer himself, it’s impossible to discuss this through An Wuping.

But since the rift has appeared again, Chen Ming needed to clarify it.

This kind of thing, which causes normal universes to associate with the Crimson Dimension, requires utmost caution.

If a dimensional infection occurs again in the normal universe, we must be fully prepared.

Speaking of which, Chen Ming recalled an incident.

Actually, both occurrences of the rift are related to him, and both openings did not happen in the normal universe.

One occurred in Chen Ming’s consciousness space, ending with the host’s death and leaving a rift in Chen Ming’s consciousness space.

The second occurred in Phase Space, resulting in Phase Space eliminating the intruder, closing the rift, and even reinforcing the rift left in Chen Ming’s consciousness space from the previous occurrence.

However, logically speaking, when the previous dimensional infection occurred, those dimensional infection entities could have earlier grouped together to form and open a rift.

Once the rift opens, with the technology and abilities humans currently possess to face the Crimson Dimension, there are almost no appropriate countermeasures.

Even in the first dimensional infection, where the infection reached the entire Star System, why was no rift opened?

In the second dimensional infection, though the scale of infection by Dusk was smaller compared to this time, from the current perspective, it was still enough to open a rift.

Why didn’t they do so?

Is it coincidence, or is there another reason?

Chen Ming is not certain, but in any case, it’s better to explain to the president.
