Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

The Phase Giant Beast excitedly approached Chen Ming’s robot and then crushed it, once again falling into a bewildering cycle.

So be it.

Chen Ming left some metal liquid on the planet and buried a bit of the Insect Queen’s body tissue deep underground.

He also controlled the Stardust Level, made a trip to all the planets in the Star System, leaving a little something behind on each.

Then he dismantled the Stardust and fully handed the Star System over to the Legion.

Meanwhile, he planned to shift his main consciousness back to his original body, as there were many things he needed to research next.

However, before Chen Ming had the chance to act on this.

His avatar at the Legion headquarters suddenly received a phone call.

It was Bai Quan calling.

The avatar was still on a Shuttle Boat leaving the headquarters at the time.

Since there wasn’t much going on, Chen Ming answered the call.

Bai Quan’s voice came through: ”Wasn’t that a bit excessive?”

Chen Ming immediately realized Bai Quan was likely referring to his recent actions; he had dashed back and forth through the Mechanical Race’s information twice and casually took over a colony.

He replied, somewhat innocently, ”I feel it’s alright. Mainly, the Legion takes too long to arrive; the Phase Giant Beast had long dismantled the colony multiple times.”

”It’s better to preserve a little now than to have everything demolished, right?”

”If the Legion needs anything, they can let me know, correct?”

As for whether Chen Ming had what the Legion needed at that time was another matter.

”Alright... Anyway, we have to wait for three days to see if the Legion fleet can do something when they arrive.”

Bai Quan was essentially just checking in, and it was indeed as Chen Ming mentioned; whatever happened in the Star System before the Legion fleet’s arrival was mostly unrelated to the Legion.

Once the fleet arrives, the Legion will have its turn to interfere.

Communication ended.

Chen Ming checked the Shuttle Boat’s automated navigation system, and the destination was correct; it was the Ship Research Institute.

With some time before the Shuttle Boat arrived, Chen Ming continued to switch his main consciousness back to his original body.

His original body had two tasks to complete now.

One was the experiment with the mechanical spiritual energy biological conversion device.

The other was to understand the status of the Mechanical Race’s spiritual energy creatures, particularly the destructive spiritual energy ones.

How do these mechanical spiritual energy creatures utilize spiritual energy? Why do they have Enlightenment Nerve, which shouldn’t be present in biological bodies?

These two tasks can actually be categorized as one.

Thus, Chen Ming decided to follow the order in which mechanical spiritual energy creatures appeared, conducting the research.

This meant first figuring out what the one-third remaining mechanical spiritual energy biological conversion facility could produce.

Then, based on his experimental results, he would research the mechanical spiritual energy creatures themselves.

At the Supreme Point of the pioneering base, the research area filled with various research facilities occupied the middle section of the ship.

Although most of the space was taken by research equipment, there was still room in the corners of the ship’s middle section to fit a new device.

Chen Ming had previously sent the equipment over.

And when he personally arrived, with the intention of engaging the equipment.

The normally present Extraordinary in the research area immediately asked him a series of questions.

Essentially asking what exactly this equipment was, its operating principles, and such.

Of course, Chen Ming did not know the operating principles of this device.

And given that the Extraordinary could pose such a question, it certainly did not have the answer either.

This indicated the technology was truly ahead of the Empire and Dusk by at least one era.

Therefore, Chen Ming didn’t answer the Extraordinary, only letting it observe the experiment he was about to conduct.

The mechanical spiritual energy biological conversion facility’s experiment, of course, involved converting spiritual energy creatures.

It seemed that even ordinary creatures can be converted, but with conditions, it’s best to use something of quality.

The units produced by the Insect Queen, each possessing some degree of the Insect Queen’s spiritual energy.

Thus, using insects for the conversion attempt.

The next question arose: which Insect Race unit was most suitable?

There are many types of Insect Race individuals.

From parasite eggs the size of spores to Titan Insects over thirty meters leading the charge on the battlefield front, all are selectable.

However, the specific choice depends on the largest volume the conversion equipment could accommodate.

Though the mechanical spiritual energy biological conversion facility was dismantled to only a third remaining, the core part wasn’t severely damaged and still had about thirty meters in height, hemispherical.

Perhaps a Titan Insect could barely fit if squeezed, but Chen Ming wouldn’t use a Titan Insect recklessly in a potentially hazardous experiment.

It’s prudent to choose a moderately-sized one.

Chen Ming pondered for a moment.

The final choice was a roughly four-meter-sized individual, closely resembling An Wuping in the insectification state.

Of course, this was a purely Insect Race creature without An Wuping’s fusion of Chen Ming’s spiritual energy, Insect Queen’s spiritual energy, and Chaos Origin technology, nor containing Chen Ming’s genes; it was purely an Insect Race entity.

Such entities had comprehensively the best qualities among Insect Race units, making it an excellent choice.
