Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

However, these processes require some time before results can be seen.

Chen Ming isn’t anxious to see results in just a day or two.

Coincidentally, today he is preparing to participate in the second experiment on Phase Space and Dimensional Infection interaction, led by the Fan Chao Research Institute.

Using a device given by the chairman, Chen Ming connected to a secret network,

and through this network, he projected his holo-projection to a distant location.

Soon, through the perspective of the holo-projection, Chen Ming found himself in a large conference room.

The conference room seemed quite unusual. On the back wall, numerous monitoring screens were tightly arranged.

Although these monitors were currently off, they should be usable shortly.

Retracting his gaze from the wall, Chen Ming turned his eyes towards the conference table.

At this moment, there were nearly fifty people in the conference room, with many familiar faces Chen Ming met at the previous meeting, but also many unfamiliar ones.

Among these unfamiliar faces, apart from some wearing lab coats who were presumably researchers from the Fan Chao Research Institute, there were even some who might be from the Empire.

Some people greeted Chen Ming.

Chen Ming responded while moving to his seat labeled with his name.

This seat was relatively close to the head position, and next to him was the chairman’s holo-projection.

But just before Chen Ming sat down,

a person, who was not a holo-projection and was indeed in the conference room, approached Chen Ming and asked, ”Chen Ming, Director Chen?”

”That’s me.”

Judging by the lab coat, he was also a researcher, so he greeted Chen Ming using the identity of Director of the Extraordinary Research Institute.

He smiled and extended his hand to Chen Ming, saying, ”I have long heard of your name. I am Bian Gaoxuan, the person in charge of the Phase Space and Dimensional Infection Interaction project at Fan Chao Research Institute.”

Chen Ming was suddenly a bit embarrassed.

When Bai Quan helped him set up his research institute, he casually named it the Extraordinary Research Institute.

At that time, even Bai Quan could tell that Chen Ming had just rearranged the name of the Fan Chao Research Institute.

And obviously, the people at Fan Chao Research Institute noticed it too.

However, this Bian Gaoxuan didn’t seem to say anything about it specifically.

So Chen Ming just pretended nothing happened and extended his hand with a handshake, saying, ”Hello, hello, is there something you need?”

Bian Gaoxuan enthusiastically grasped Chen Ming’s hand tightly, ”I just wanted to meet you, Director Chen. This project was, so to speak, initiated by you. Without you, I wouldn’t have this position of responsibility nor this livelihood.”

”Not at all, not at all. I’m sure Director Bian would shine and excel in other projects even without this one.”

After some small talk and exchanging contact details,

Bian Gaoxuan left Chen Ming’s side and sat at the head position.

Everyone was present, so the meeting was about to begin.

Chen Ming immediately took his seat.

After Bian Gaoxuan tested the microphone, he pressed a button on the computer in front of him.

The monitoring screens behind him lit up, displaying scenes within a sealed environment.

Inside this environment existed twisted flesh and various mutated creatures.

The familiar sight of this flesh and these creatures was the same dimensional infection entities manufactured by the intestines of Zuo Jing’s host last time, where intestines flooded the ground.

So these monitoring images should be of that Space Station the chairman mentioned previously, prepared by the Fan Chao Research Institute.

Aside from the monitoring of dimensional infection entities inside the space station, there were also some monitors in the corner of the wall behind Bian Gaoxuan showing the outside of the space station.

Through these monitors, it could be seen that on both sides of the space station, at a certain distance, there were two large devices arranged oppositely.

These should be the devices able to send the space station into Phase Space.

It seemed that everything was ready, just waiting for the next step.

Bian Gaoxuan at the head position began to explain this experiment.

However, those attending the meeting already knew the situation, so he only gave a brief overview.

He also explained that all dimensional infection entities on the space station were captured from the Cai Mo Star Realm, and were temporarily kept active by being fed with pigs.

This was to avoid unnecessary disputes during the experiment.

According to him, there are two purposes for initiating this experiment.

One is to further test the suppressive effect of Phase Space on dimensional infection entities.

The previous test only captured a small number of dimensional infection entities, but this time the quantity is significantly larger.

The other purpose is to test the effect of the new device developed by Fan Chao Research Institute.

Regarding sending the space station into Phase Space, everyone believes it should have a 100% success rate, but there are doubts about whether the device can pull the space station back out from Phase Space.

This technology is crucial for leveraging Phase Space to suppress dimensional infections.

If a planet infected by dimensions is sent into Phase Space and cannot be pulled out, then it might as well not be sent at all.

So the vast majority of people here today are basically just to see whether this device can pull the space station out.

Additionally, Bian Gaoxuan stated that there would also be a small number of accompanying personnel maintaining a safe distance while entering Phase Space together to monitor the space station within it from the outside.
