Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

After the director arranged everything, he asked, ”What is the purpose of this phase ship experiment?”

”To attempt to use the special resonance frequency of phase space to allow friendly units in the normal universe environment to observe phase ships within phase space.”

Chen Ming understood, but also didn’t understand.

The director noticed Chen Ming’s confusion and, while managing the overall setup of the experiment, began explaining the basic knowledge points of phase ships.

After roughly explaining some basic concepts of phase ships, he began discussing the current experiment.

Simply put.

The purpose of this experiment is to validate a special device just researched by the Ship Research Institute.

It enables fleets in the normal universe to observe friendly units currently in phase space, preventing phase ships from appearing within friendly firing ranges when returning to reality.

Moreover, this device only has effects on friendly units and cannot be detected by enemies.

It’s similar to when Chen Ming saw the Mechanical Race using phase weapons, but being able to see lasers from the normal universe; yet they’re different.

Because this experiment requires repeatedly entering phase space in a short period to simulate actual combat, it’s somewhat risky for the current phase ship, and Chen Ming needs to ensure safety.

Chen Ming raised a question: ”During actual combat, doesn’t the phase ship always stay in phase space?”

”Phase ships cannot dissipate radiation energy in phase space.”

The director explained some basic concepts of phase space: ”Although phase space corresponds with the normal universe environment, in phase space, all places without matter are filled with a special medium.”

”This medium has no effects on the human body and can be treated as nonexistent, but it hinders the ship from dissipating radiation energy.”

”Entering phase space itself will lead to the accumulation of radiation energy, not to mention using weapons within phase space.”

”Therefore, in war, phase ships cannot always stay in phase space. The most likely situation is repeatedly entering and exiting phase space to distract enemies and evade attacks.”

Radiation energy...

Chen Ming almost forgot about the existence of radiation energy.

Every ship generates radiation energy in its radiant energy system while starting up, no matter what it does.

Using weapons or letting shields take damage would lead to the increase of radiation energy, and there are distinctions between soft and hard radiation energy.

Once radiation energy exceeds the limit, it can lead to an overloaded radiation energy phenomenon that paralyzes the entire ship.

However, due to Chen Ming’s spiritual energy, no matter what happens, his ship’s radiation energy value never rises. A maintenance spiritual energy would erase everything.

Unless something directly fills up his ship’s radiation energy, leaving him no time to perform maintenance.

But that would either require the overwhelming fleet size, such as when the Mechanical Race ambushed his Giant Level ship.

Or it would require overwhelming ship level, like when the Dusk cruiser Chen Ming controlled was destroyed by a main ship from the Legion.

But last time, even when twenty Mechanical Race cruisers concentrated fire, it only almost broke the shield.

To Chen Ming, as long as the radiant energy system isn’t penetrated in a single burst, the status is good.

Even if it is pierced, it’s not a big deal; as long as the enemy’s most fierce wave of fire didn’t completely destroy the ship, he can restore the ship to full functionality under his spiritual energy, even with just a handbrake left.

And encountering the main ship before was a low probability incident.

Therefore, a multitude of factors combined, causing Chen Ming to never worry about the radiant energy system, at most paying attention to the upper limit of radiation energy, as this limit determines how much attack the ship can withstand in a short time.

In this way, the strength of a radiant energy system is a good indicator of phase ship performance.

A phase ship needs to have a sufficient upper limit for fighting in phase space and enough radiation energy dissipation to quickly discharge radiation energy when excessively accumulated.

This is interesting.

If the phase ship controlled by Chen Ming keeps receiving his maintenance in phase space, it seems possible to create an effect that disgusts the enemy, and he can attempt it right now.

However, he didn’t hurry to mention this matter, but decided to observe this experiment first.

Meanwhile, before the official start of the experiment, Chen Ming suddenly thought of something.

He asked the director, ”Can I arrange to have two of my robots onboard the ship?”

The director considered it immediately.

He knew Chen Ming was a Psychic and that he could control everything mechanical.

Therefore, in his view, Chen Ming’s robots were like extensions of himself.

Such an existence entering phase space could certainly return with additional intelligence data.

The director responded, ”If you don’t worry about the robots breaking down, of course, you can, but we need to wait a bit. We need to know the data for your robots and adjust the phase ship according to these data.”

Chen Ming casually released metal liquid and manufactured two robots based on Flying Locust Armor at his side.

”Thanks.”

The director nodded, summoned several researchers, and began collecting various data of the robots.

Then made adjustments to the experimental data changes caused by the ship’s load for the two waiting experimental ships.
