Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chen Ming stuffed the insect into the opened hatch.

Just after Chen Ming pressed the start button, the transformation facility suddenly alerted him about the lack of usable materials.

Some key materials are provided by the facility, but to make the main structure of a Mechanical Spiritual Energy creature, Chen Ming has to supply the materials.

If it’s related to the Mechanical Race, then White Cloud Steel is clearly the most suitable.

But Chen Ming chose a different material.

Yan Xiong produced Spiritual White Cloud Steel, purity 100%.

After Chen Ming filled in the material.

The facility’s hatch closed, and the insect that Chen Ming had inserted was delivered to the center of the chamber.

Chen Ming could still sense everything this Insect Race unit experienced through Spiritual Energy.

After undergoing an extremely meticulous scan, the facility suddenly released a large number of nanorobots, resembling iron sand, covering the Insect Race unit.

According to the scan results, they slowly transformed every cell, every piece of exoskeleton of the Insect Race unit into mechanical structures.

Although the Insect Race doesn’t have pain nerves, it has a sense of self-damage.

However, in the feelings transmitted through the Hive Mind Network from this Insect Race unit within the transformation facility, there was no hint of pain.

The transformation would not cause any pain or injury to living organisms.

Moreover, even though Chen Ming used 100% purity Spiritual White Cloud Steel as raw material, it seemed to have no effect on the process, as the nanorobots simply converted biological cell tissue into mechanical structures made of Spiritual White Cloud Steel.

The entire operation process appeared normal, as if the loss of those external devices hadn’t affected the basic functionality of the transformation apparatus.

However, the good times didn’t last long.

The transformation facility had only just converted the lower legs of the Insect Race individual into steel when the operation suddenly stuttered.

Those nanorobots also paused momentarily.

Then they resumed operation.

Chen Ming instantly focused his full attention.

Because the equipment obviously malfunctioned but continued to operate.

If a malfunctioning device keeps running, who knows what consequences it might cause.

Meanwhile, those nanorobots continued transforming the biological cells into mechanical elements.

However.

Unlike before, not all biological cells were being transformed; after the malfunction, the nanorobots underwent a process of intermittent transformation.

The already converted feet and lower legs were purely mechanical, but the thighs ended up mixed with biological tissue and metal.

The transformation process continued, but incomplete.

And the result of incompleteness was this.

While Chen Ming was observing, the transformation facility continued converting the body of the Insect Race unit, further intertwining its flesh with metal.

Moreover, the protection for the transformation site by these nanorobots during the transformation failed.

Gray-green blood flowed freely, gray-white muscles seemingly pierced with countless sharp blades.

The Insect Race individual felt its body being harmed.

And the damage was incredibly intense, incredibly terrifying.

Its body instinctively began to repair the injuries, replenishing the flesh tissue transformed by the nanorobots.

However, the tissue it used for repairs would also undergo further transformation by the nanorobots within the transformation facility.

This further transformation resulted in further injuries, forcing the Insect Race individual to increase its repair efforts.

This vicious cycle caused the entire insect to become swollen.

Indeed, damaged facilities cannot lead to correct results.

The transformation process quickly reached its end.

The facility’s hatch opened, revealing the internal body swollen up to ten meters, a half-biological, half-mechanical monster,

A bloated, sluggish monster that seemed on the brink of death.

Yet, it was at least based on the genes of the Insect Race, manufactured using the Insectification form Chen Ming and the Insect Queen researched for a long time as a template, it wouldn’t die easily.

It even wriggled out of the chamber, leaving a large pool of gray-green blood on the ground, greedily consuming the energy crystals Chen Ming had prepared next to it beforehand.

Chen Ming silently watched, silently recorded.

Although the transformation process wasn’t completed, it unexpectedly retained characteristics of both the Insect Race and the Mechanical Race.

It could maintain its life by devouring any object like an Insect Race, while possessing the steel body of the Mechanical Race.

Additionally, Chen Ming discovered that the steel body on its body could be enhanced through the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy.

Furthermore, the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy could affect the nanorobots normally present inside every ordinary Mechanical Race unit post-transformation.

Although the transformation process of the Insect Race individual was only half-completed, it indeed possessed nanorobots repairing the damages to its mechanical parts.

These nanorobots could gain an efficiency boost in action under the influence of the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy.

Oddly enough, these nanorobots could operate like an Insect Race, not sustained by electricity, but by consuming or directly extracting nutrients from the Insect Race individual.

Between biology, machinery, and spiritual energy, nothing was detached on its body.

It’s unclear whether this was the nature of the Insect Queen’s Spiritual Energy, or if it was altered after mixing with Chen Ming’s Spiritual Energy, or perhaps it was the effect of the facility.
