Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

As for more details, Chen Ming couldn’t analyze any further.

The overall technological level of the Mechanical Race was superior to his expectations, leaving him unable to delve deeper.

However, Chen Ming suddenly remembered something.

In his possession, there was a Personality Core he had just seized from the Mechanical Race, the Mechanical Queen.

As the core of the Mechanical Race’s Mother Ship and the heart of colony building during the pioneering period, it should possess knowledge about the Mechanical Race.

How could he almost forget this?

Chen Ming immediately contacted the Mechanical Queen remotely to inquire about what exactly the Mechanical Race’s mechanical spiritual creatures were all about.

The Mechanical Queen responded quickly.

But what Chen Ming didn’t expect was that the Mechanical Queen didn’t respond to his question directly but provided a complete document, even translated into the Empire’s language for him.

This document surprisingly detailed what the Mechanical Race’s mechanical spiritual creatures actually were and how they were manufactured.

Chen Ming looked at the document in silence.

After remaining silent for a long time,

he suddenly sighed and said, ”Why didn’t I just ask directly?”

Fortunately, the impact was minimal.

Researching on his own left a more profound impression than simply reading the document.

Moreover, he only started researching after conducting experiments.

These documents wouldn’t clearly explain all the failed experimental results.

Nor would they teach Chen Ming how to create semi-organic, semi-mechanical entities to gain the advantages of both.

At least Chen Ming learned something new from recent experiments, so not asking wasn’t a total loss.

After adjusting his mindset,

Chen Ming carefully studied the document on the Mechanical Race’s mechanical spiritual creatures.

It was probably a few years ago when the Mechanical Race discovered a mechanical spiritual creature conversion facility in the ruins of the Shimmering Civilization.

After searching through their stored memories for some time, the Mechanical Race relearned how to use this facility.

At this point, Chen Ming paused briefly.

Because he found that according to the document, the conversion facility indeed had the ability to transform matters related to spiritual energy.

However, it didn’t turn spiritual creatures into mechanical spiritual creatures, but converted them into a kind of spiritual core, producing related derivatives, also known as spiritual energy essence.

This facility extracted all spiritual energy from the spiritual creatures, merging it into a special object.

If the Spirit Awakening Nerve Extractor targets Psychic individuals, then this conversion facility targets spiritual creatures.

And the conversion facility also has multiple conversion modes, transforming organisms into mechanical beings, with converting spiritual creatures into spiritual cores being just two basic functions.

Other conversion methods were unavailable due to Chen Ming’s model losing too many external components.

As for what other conversion methods there were...

Chen Ming continued reading.

Shortly after discovering and understanding the conversion facility, the Mechanical Race produced a Dimensional Infection Entity.

Of course, it wasn’t within this Mechanical Race Star Realm near the Empire, but somewhere farther and deeper in the stars within another Mechanical Race Star Realm.

So it didn’t affect the Empire at all.

In short, the Dimensional Infection Entity crafted by the Mechanical Race had the ability of destruction.

Finding it too dangerous, the Mechanical Race used a converter to transform this Dimensional Infection Entity into a Destruction Core and some accompanying entities, namely the destruction energy essence.

These energy essences couldn’t be wasted, so the Mechanical Race came up with a new—or rather, an old—thing, a complement to the Shimmering Civilization and mechanical spiritual creature conversion facility: the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve.

By inserting a bit of this energy essence, the Mechanical Race manufactured a new Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve.

After these were implanted into some organisms, and after these organisms were transformed into mechanical beings via the conversion facility,

they could master the power of spiritual energy through the facility’s transformation.

Implanting ordinary organisms with the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve and transforming them is akin to installing and calibrating the Purgatory Core in the Purgatory Demon King.

As for why not give the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve directly to other members of the Mechanical Race,

the document explains that.

The technical prowess of the Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve itself doesn’t match that of something like the Purgatory Core.

Though mechanical, it requires assimilation with the implanted host.

Ordinary members of the Mechanical Race cannot assimilate with spiritual energy; only organisms can do that with the Enlightenment Nerve.

After assimilation, the Mechanical Race can further transform organisms.

This is why mechanical spiritual creatures emerged.

Chen Ming wondered how the Mechanical Race managed so many spiritual creature conversions.

It turns out a single spiritual creature can generate a core and produce enough energy essence to replicate multiple Mechanical Enlightenment Nerves.

This method of mass-producing multiple Enlightenment Nerves using companion entities relies only on the relatively simple Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve device, so the spiritual energy limits are much lower compared to normal Psychics.

As for the use of the spiritual core,

the document doesn’t elaborate much, merely stating a simple sentence.

The spiritual core is an alternative combination of the Enlightenment Nerve and Spiritual Stone.

In summary, after obtaining this information, some questions lingering in Chen Ming’s mind finally received answers.

Not to mention how the Mechanical Race came up with the dimensional infection or how they managed to insert the entity source of the dimensional infection into the conversion equipment.
