Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chen Ming’s consciousness once again detached from the Consciousness Space, returning to the Phase Space within the robot.

This robot had also survived when Chen Ming used the Metal Sky Curtain to block the crimson light, with the Space Station wreckage appearing even more shattered under its illumination just a short distance away.

And in a place some distance from the Space Station wreckage, the spaceship that had been irradiated by the crimson light was still there.

Chen Ming was preparing to investigate the situation at the Space Station and the spaceship.

But he suddenly remembered something and promptly reconnected with the robot on the Phase Ship, which had been disconnected when he focused his consciousness earlier.

The Phase Ship had already been taken out of the Phase Space by the director’s Spiritual Energy, now positioned in the normal universe, not far from where the spaceship had entered Phase Space.

Nearby was the area of the Space Station, where the light pattern system had been disrupted and couldn’t be observed in the Phase Space.

And the facility prepared by the Fan Chao Research Institute to pull the Space Station out of Superspace.

However, the facility wasn’t activated at this time.

Because aside from Chen Ming, nobody could be certain whether pulling the Space Station back from the Phase Space would lead to undesirable results; no one dared to activate the facility before clarifying the situation.

And at that moment, onboard several Phase Ships, Bian Gaoxuan was recording something at the spaceship’s control console.

When he noticed Chen Ming’s robot starting to move again beside him, he exclaimed excitedly, ”Director Chen, that’s great, you’re okay.”

”The last thing I saw was you blocking all that crimson light, I thought... It’s good that you’re alright.”

Chen Ming explained, ”It was just a bit of mental impact causing the disconnection with the robot, nothing too significant.”

”That’s good, that’s good.”

Though saying this, Bian Gaoxuan didn’t really believe Chen Ming was being truthful.

Was it really just a slight impact?

He had personally witnessed the scene where the entire Space Station was shattered by those beams.

And from the readings provided by the spaceship’s detection instruments, those beams possessed more than just physical destructive power; they also had a decidedly detrimental mental impact.

If it weren’t for the Metal Sky Curtain blocking those beams, they all might have perished there.

Experiments resulting in deaths were common, even at the Fan Chao Research Institute.

Experiments involving Spiritual Energy could never be said to be absolutely safe; adequate protection work still meant unexpected deaths could occur.

And experiments related to dimension infection were even more dangerous.

So he didn’t think Chen Ming blocking those beams with the Metal Sky Curtain was a simple matter.

Yet, since Chen Ming said so, he wouldn’t refute him directly.

After all, Chen Ming saving him during this failed and somewhat hasty experiment was undeniable.

Chen Ming might not mention it, but as the one saved, he had to reciprocate.

However, Chen Ming didn’t care much about Bian Gaoxuan’s thoughts; he came over for other matters.

”Are the final recordings before the spaceship evacuated and the final recordings before the Space Station was destroyed still available?”

”Yes, but I’ve ordered them to be stored, and no one has viewed them.”

”That’s good.”

Chen Ming felt slightly relieved now, worrying that the recordings might have been viewed, causing the Crimson Dimension’s influence to further spread through the video.

Fortunately, that hadn’t happened.

It seemed Bian Gaoxuan had shown vigilance regarding dimension infection.

After all, when the Empire first encountered dimensional infection, the infected organ was the eyeball, and dimensional infections in the eyes could spread through visual contact.

Thus, maintaining vigilance against visual recording devices like videos was certainly necessary.

However, afraid that others aside from Bian Gaoxuan might not understand, Chen Ming further explained, ”I’m concerned that the dimensional power might be able to spread through video, so I need to verify the location of the video files.”

Bian Gaoxuan immediately handed over a prepared document to Chen Ming.

Chen Ming promptly opened the file and examined it personally.

Then he discovered some unexpected situations.

The spaceship recordings had nothing to watch, showing only some crimson light that didn’t directly irradiate the spaceship.

But the contents of a section of recordings captured before the Space Station’s destruction were intriguing.

Several of the Space Station’s monitors captured expanding rifts before they were destroyed, and the multi-pupil eye, and sent them to the spaceship, where they were preserved.

However, the contents in the recordings were distorted.

The eye within the rift seemed to be obscured by a heavy filter.

Had Chen Ming not seen the rift with his own eyes previously, he probably wouldn’t be able to discern that the things under the filter within the rift were the eye.

After being saved, the recording had already become ineffective.

Yet, distortion and dysfunction had their benefits.

This recording posed no issues, spreading no dimensional infections.

The situation differed from when Chen Ming controlled the Space Station and observed the rifts through real-time monitoring, where the Crimson Dimension could spread its power through surveillance.

It was unclear whether the video was interfered with by the Crimson Dimension’s own power or by the Phase Space’s power.

Nonetheless, the conclusion now was that only through direct observation when the rifts appeared or indirect observation via certain equipment could the Crimson Dimension’s power be witnessed and be influenced by dimensional power.
