Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”That’s pretty good.”

Chen Ming’s tone was quite casual.

He wasn’t too concerned about the president’s comment about him being a historical figure.

His goal was never to leave a legacy but to live well, live freely.

”But that’s a lifetime goal for many people.”

”Just let it be.”

Chen Ming again casually replied to the president: ”I think the research results are more important. I want to know more.”

The president seemed to just mention it in passing and didn’t continue the topic, instead he followed Chen Ming’s lead and said, ”Well, that’s up to you.”

”The Fan Chao Research Institute has never been stingy about sharing their research results, but whether you can understand them is not their concern.”

”I will understand them.”

Chen Ming confidently replied and then asked, ”By the way, is Fan Chao Research Institute only working on Phase Technology-related stuff? Aren’t they interested in Dimension Infection research?”

”Of course, they’re interested, but even at the Fan Chao Research Institute, Dimension Infection scarcely makes progress.”

”What about that special Psychic you mentioned earlier?”

”If you have someone who can engineer a device in one day to send the entire Space Station into Phase Space, would you let him handle Dimension Infection?”

The answer is obvious.

”So, Fan Chao Research Institute doesn’t have an advantage in Dimension Infection research. This time they even came to me for questions.”

”Fan Chao Research Institute is indeed formidable, but don’t overly mythologize them. There are things they can’t do.”

”We are the ones prepared for Dimension Infection.”

After continuing the conversation with the president for a while.

Chen Ming ended the communication.

The surrogate was then further arranged to handle matters of the two research institutes.

The Phase Technology from the Ship Research Institute was something Chen Ming had to quickly supplement, whether it’s for upcoming experiments or for future war with the Mechanical Race, it is necessary.

And the progress of the anti-Mechanical Race weapon or the anti-Mechanical Race Spiritual Hive Network weapon that Chen Ming was developing at the Spiritual Ability Research Institute was equally important, especially when Bai Quan had already decided the timeline to head to the frontline battlefield.

Chen Ming couldn’t escape any of these.

Meanwhile, his original body had work to do as well.

First was the study of the Zero Sample.

This guy really surprised Chen Ming.

Because it started in a half-dead, crippled state, it was being harmed every moment by its own mechanized structure, yet it was also constantly recovering due to the strong vitality of an Insect Race individual.

Previously, its recovery speed couldn’t keep up with the rate of self-harm; the Zero Sample was essentially moving towards death every minute and second.

In this kind of torment, the Zero Sample’s body tissue actively adapted to the damage from itself.

By continually consuming the Energy Crystals Chen Ming provided, it constantly accelerated the speed of healing its injuries.

Just like that, remarkably, it survived until today.

Even its overall condition was better than when it just underwent incomplete transformation. It possesses astonishing vitality.

Originally, Chen Ming was considering how to create a few more semi-mechanical and semi-biological units of the Insect Race for research if the Zero Sample died.

Because these past two days, Chen Ming had been transforming new Insect Race units, but the situation was different from the Zero Sample.

Most samples couldn’t survive the transformation experiment process.

Those that did survive often died within hours or even minutes, unable to recover from the severe injuries.

None could persevere like the Zero Sample.

If the Zero Sample were gone, Chen Ming truly had no way to quickly produce another semi-mechanical, semi-biological sample that could survive for continued research.

But fortunately, the Zero Sample is still alive.

And by comparing it to the deceased samples.

Chen Ming learned a lot about the critical points in creating semi-biological, semi-mechanical structures.

He understood the importance of the appropriate proportion of Mechanical Race structures and biological structures, knowing which proportion allows for the sustainable operation and survival while maintaining a semi-mechanical, semi-biological structure.

This knowledge can be used in the subsequent complete transformation experiments.

Chen Ming also allocated some time to study the mechanized Insect Race building issue.

Which involves initially using pure mechanized structures to satisfy all developmental stage requirements of an Insect Race individual.

Similar to some factories manufacturing biochemical products, although it’s changing the factories to directly manufacture biological entities.

Then having the Insect Queen transform the factory.

Previously, Chen Ming always had the Insect Queen directly create biological factories, but the difficulty of constructing biological buildings exceeded Chen Ming and the Insect Queen’s expectations, there was no progress at all.

Hence Chen Ming came up with this idea.

And these past two days, through his understanding of the Insect Race’s cultivation progress, he created a mechanized cultivation factory for Energy Crystal Insects, from larvae to adult, a complete process, remarkably smooth, much easier than creating biological buildings.

He even developed mechanical cultivation factories for Worker Insects that the Insect Queen frequently uses in significant quantities.

These factories can cultivate a complete Insect Race unit starting from larvae, perfectly fulfilling the functions originally designated to biological factories.
