Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chen Ming immediately picked out this Mechanical Spiritual Energy creature he had already brought under control, planning to take it directly to the research area on the Supreme Point, and determine through his research whether he should tell the Legion about this Destructive Spiritual Energy.

But when Chen Ming lifted this thing out, he suddenly realized that it also looked rather strange.

This Mechanical Spiritual Energy creature was generally beast-shaped, with a large amount of mechanical mane around its neck.

Its face had multiple visual sensors, that is, eyes, distributed very randomly all over its head.

At a glance, if one didn’t look closely, there didn’t seem to be any problem, but once you carefully observed it, just the positions of those visual sensors were already strange enough.

Moreover, when Chen Ming was controlling them in batches just now, he hadn’t noticed another rather odd part on its body.

That was the thing he had previously taken to be mane; he had originally thought it was just some ornamentation formed after the Spiritual Creature was mechanized.

But in reality those things were not mane at all, but some sort of tentacle-like tissue that had been converted.

Excessive proliferation of biological tissue would be accompanied by large amounts of useless muscle tissue, and the most common form of useless muscle tissue Chen Ming had seen was all kinds of tentacles.

This basically confirmed that this Mechanical Spiritual Energy creature definitely had a problem.

Up to now, after feeding the Insect Queen enormous quantities of various creatures, Chen Ming had never seen any creature with tentacles growing from its neck and eyes irregularly arranged.

This kind of mutation in flesh and blood was definitely connected either to Spiritual Energy or to the Crimson Dimension.

They couldn’t have stuffed a dimension-infected entity into the device for Transformation, could they... actually, that might be possible...

This thought suddenly popped into Chen Ming’s head.

After all, the Spiritual Energy of this Mechanical Spiritual Energy creature was destruction, radiating an aura of utter annihilation.

Such Destructive Spiritual Energy might still make sense if it appeared in a human or in an entity affected by dimension infection.

But animals.

The instinct of any animal was survival; only humans, when emotion overrode reason or when their psyche was abnormal and self-destructive, would develop something like ”destruction.”

Was it that a dimension infection had produced an individual with Destructive Spiritual Energy, which was then converted by the Mechanical Race?

Or was some kind of creature transformed into a mechanical organism and then fitted with a Mechanical Enlightenment Nerve imbued with Destructive Spiritual Energy?

Chen Ming even suspected a bit that the Mechanical Race was also conducting cloning experiments, and had produced this abstract-looking creature and converted it into a mechanical individual.

But all of this was just speculation; he had to invest more effort in research before he could confirm what was actually going on.

Now was not the time.

After sending away this Mechanical Spiritual Energy creature with Destructive Spiritual Energy first.

Chen Ming took one last look at the building and internal equipment that were only one-third Repaired, shook his head regretfully, and prepared to send this away as well.

But just before Chen Ming sent the equipment away, he suddenly discovered that the portion of the facility he had Repaired seemed to have triggered some kind of auto-boot system and suddenly began operating.

”Huh?”

Chen Ming watched with his eyes wide open as the facility completed its startup self-check and reset itself to a state where it could be activated normally at any time.

It even opened up, at the bottom of that chamber with the huge breach, a small compartment that looked like it could fit certain creatures inside.

Although when he Repaired the building he seemed to have fixed the building’s reserve Energy supply system as well, fixing the Energy supply system didn’t mean that everything else was fixed; why could the main facility, with only one-third of it Repaired, still run?

It was like an animal that had lost two-thirds of its limbs and could still survive—was this...

Chen Ming hesitated for a moment and still chose not to try stuffing something in there for an experiment.

Because from the moment he used Spiritual Energy to control the entire facility and the whole device, he had already started analyzing the technology inside this device and the principles by which it was implemented.

However, judging from the two minutes he had just spent observing, the technological level of this facility, like that of many other facilities belonging to the Shimmering Civilization, had already surpassed the level of technology he currently mastered.

Right now, at most he could deduce from the remaining experimental logs in the device that it used the Mechanical Race’s Nanorobots technology.

And that it was using Nanorobots to replace the biological body tissue.

Of the rest he knew nothing.

He didn’t know the operating principles, didn’t know the functions of these structures.

He only knew that if this device could still operate while lacking two-thirds of its components, then it was absolutely impossible for it to achieve a good result comparable to that of a fully functional device.

Who knew what those components dismantled by the Mechanical Race had been for, or what would happen if this device was used after losing them.

Chen Ming didn’t really want to do dangerous things when he still had options.

Even though he had only obtained one-third of this facility here.

But this Planet didn’t have just one colony; the other two colonies might also have such Mechanical Spiritual Energy creature Transformation devices.

It was just unclear whether there were facilities over there, and whether those facilities could have survived the ravaging of the Phase Giant Beasts.

Since Chen Ming had already acquired one-third of a facility here, which he could use at any time.

Then before courting death by using this device, he should at least go check whether there were similar facilities in the other two places.

At this moment.

One of the other two major colonies was currently being ravaged by a Phase Giant Beast.
