High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1948: Chapter 169: On Serious Media Outlets

”The exception clause in the ’Oppose the Fishman Oppression Plan’ mentions ’(The trader) must have clear and convincing evidence to prove that the fishmen providing magic materials, alchemy products, and other broadly defined goods are treated fairly, justly, and reasonably within the tribe, Lin Zhong Lake, and Jiuyou Academy,’... It also requires the trader to provide a relevant report, ’The trader should submit a report to the Hemophilia Ethics Risk Committee within 30 calendar days of determining the exception and explain in public publications (such as the campus newspaper, Beta Town Post, and other serious media)...’”

It was evident that Andrew put in a lot of effort into this section of the text, reciting it very smoothly.

After reciting the detailed rules of the act, the captain of the Ouroboros Hunting Team paused slightly and gave Zheng Qing a sly smile: ”Do you think we can obtain the permission of the Hemophilia Ethics Risk Committee?”

Zheng Qing exerted a lot of effort to avoid snorting and accidentally spitting out the small green snake from his ear.

”As expected, asking a dog to guard the buns, there’s no way it can be done.” Xin Fat Man’s voice of disdain sounded from behind.

Andrew pretended not to hear.

”Sepulano handed over his small business for you to manage, showing some degree of discernment,” Zheng Qing couldn’t help but mock, ”Will you be taking over the ’gambling hunting’ in the school hunting competition next month too?”

This time, Andrew did not pretend not to hear.

On the contrary, judging by his smiling face, he seemed very pleased that others recognized Sepulano’s attention to him, yet he still maintained enough caution: ”Gambling hunting? The First University does not allow gambling hunting! ... Only certain small games based on luck and insight. I heard you made quite a lot of gold in this small game last year, how about it, are you interested in playing a bit larger this year?”

Watching as the other party tried to involve him in their business.

Zheng Qing had to chuckle awkwardly to interrupt Andrew’s sales pitch—he had just gone over that somewhat dry piece of legislation in his mind and realized a minor detail: ”... So, public publications? Isn’t your ’Act’ required to be explained in public publications? We haven’t seen any reports about your transaction in the recent campus newspaper or the Beta Town Post!”

As he spoke, he turned to look at Xin Fat Man.

The Fat Wizard firmly shook his head, confirming the captain’s thoughts.

Woosh.

Andrew quickly fished out a magazine from his pocket, holding it with both hands, presenting it to Zheng Qing with a beaming smile: ”Horse People Weekly, Issue 20090913, page seven... See here, see it? It’s a very standard announcement.”

Zheng Qing’s mouth twitched, avoiding looking at that undoubtedly impeccable announcement, instead flipping open the cover of the Horse People Weekly. On the cover, a Horse-Man, face painted with greasepaint, stood upright on two hind legs, stamping heavily downward. In the soil beneath its hooves lay a flattened saddle and a torn law book.

A feather pen was wedged in the law book, half of it sticking out, with its bare nib stained with a droplet of bright red, trembling in the air, uncertain whether it was a drop of blood or a drop of cinnabar ink.

The cover article was filled with hostility—’Wizard’s Mule or Free Warrior, Why We Reject the Law Book!’

Zheng Qing pointed at that Horse-Man, garnering a torrent of abuse and threats with swords and knives. This convinced him that this Horse People Weekly was indeed a magic publication.

”Is this... a serious media?” Zheng Qing lifted his head, staring woodenly at Andrew.

The captain of the Ouroboros Hunting Team smiled brightly: ”Of course, genuinely serious media, a public publication for the Horseman Tribe... Of course, its audience is slightly insufficient, at present maybe, um, what was the subscription number again?”

He feigned turning to look at his Auxiliary Hunter.

With a gentle smile, Julian, with black hair and narrow eyes, said: ”Last week’s highest data, reaching thirty-two copies.”

”Yes, thirty-two copies!” Andrew realized suddenly, clapping his hands then showing a regretful expression: ”Maybe you usually don’t pay much attention to these magic creatures of the subhuman races, so you missed noticing this public publication. I would say, this is Jiuyou Academy’s biggest failure in education, always confining students within textbooks, forgetting there’s a broad world outside the academy...”

Zheng Qing felt he no longer had the energy to be angry.

Preparing with heart against absent-mindedness, the other’s side was too well-prepared.

”So, we definitely can’t hunt on someone else’s turf.” The young cost student turned, looking at his team members, earnestly advised: ”Today’s matter very clearly demonstrates this point—when you try to defeat an opponent by their set standards and rules, you’re already halfway to losing.”

”Talking about defeating, how unpleasant to hear.” Young Taylor chuckled awkwardly twice: ”It’s all about communication, mutual exchange, and mutual learning.”

Crack.

The sound of twigs snapping underfoot came from the forest, mixed with the rustling of moving through the underbrush, interrupting the ’friendly communication’ atmosphere among the young wizards.

Zheng Qing turned to look.

In the pitch-black forest with not a hint of light, but borrowing the faint light of magical stars above the water bay, a tall and thin silhouette slowly and leisurely walked out of the woods.

Gradually, as the figure got closer and more light fell upon him, his image became clearer. The captains of the Atonement Hunting Team and the Diviner raised their eyebrows in surprise at the newcomer.

It was a Warlock with black hair and black eyes, standing tall, looking handsome, wearing a moon-white robe from Alpha Academy, its silky fabric embroidered with mysterious gold and silver runes, casting a soft glow in the night.

The newcomer walked out of the forest and stopped cautiously at the edge of the clearing by the shore, looking bewildered at the three confronting groups in the field: ”This is...”

”Oh, please allow me to introduce.”

Andrew enthusiastically waved, greeting them, then pointed at Zheng Qing, speaking in a gentle tone: ”A public expense student of Jiuyou Academy, a two-time Merlin Medal winner, and the bearer of the magic wand title ’World,’ Zheng Qing. And... this is a public expense student of Alpha Academy, a genius magic potion maker, an apprentice hunter of the Ouroboros Hunting Team, and the sponsor of tonight’s small event, Lin Yan.”

While speaking, the captain of the Ouroboros Hunting Team naturally moved to the field’s edge, grabbed Lin Yan’s arm, pulling him towards the center of the field, while indicating the young hunters of the Atonement Hunting Team, briefly introducing the identity of each hunter and how this night training hunting team appeared there, and so on.

”Lin Yan? I think I’ve heard that name before.”

Zheng Qing heard Dylan and Xin Fat Man whisper softly behind him: ”Oh yes, it’s the newbie who got carried away a few days ago trying to acquire Atonement.”
