High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1930: Chapter 151: That Terrible Dream

After returning from Greenhill Mansion, Zheng Qing had a series of nightmares.

At first, he was walking through the academy under the night sky, surrounded by vague shadows that seemed to follow him, yet he couldn’t see them clearly. Occasionally, a cold breeze swept into his neck, raising goosebumps all over his skin. Turning to look, he found no one there, as if he were a character destined for doom in a ghost film.

Then shadows twisted and spiraled beneath his feet, resembling invisible long snakes. When he looked up, he saw the shadow cast by a strange giant tree under the moonlight. The tree’s branches stretched out in all directions, nearly spanning the entire forest road. It was covered in white fruits of various sizes. As the breeze blew, the fruits slowly rotated, revealing ghastly pale faces with eyes tightly shut, tears of blood streaming from them.

This scene terrified the warlock so much that his legs trembled, his mind was fearful, and he could barely walk straight.

Until he reached the Lakeside of Bell Lake, where night and shadow dispersed, and the moonlight fell. Then the warlock saw clearly who was walking beside him—it was Jiang Yu, and he breathed a sigh of relief, his mood suddenly turning peaceful.

The witch was in a deep red long dress, the hem resembling a waterfall of blood that dragged long behind her, vanishing into the dark night. She was baring her arms, tilting her head, seemingly speaking cheerfully to the young man, but Zheng Qing couldn’t hear clearly for a moment. They walked side by side, savoring the enchanting breeze under the moonlight.

Soon, a slender figure appeared in the full moon, wearing splendid attire, graceful and alluring. Long hair cascaded like a waterfall, with jade-like legs extending long, four giant fox tails spinning behind.

Every turn of the fox tail brought a golden lightning bolt from the moon, striking the warlock. No matter how he hid under the tree, rock, or even the witch’s skirt, he couldn’t evade the golden lightning that chased him relentlessly, searing him till smoke emitted from his mouth and nose, and he was scorched black.

Little foxes circled the moon, chirping and calling, sounding just like eerie laughter.

After a long time, the lightning gradually subsided, and the splendid figure in the moonlight, along with Jiang Yu, disappeared without a trace.

The scorched ’charcoal’ rolled over a couple of times, rolling into Lin Zhong Lake. As it slowly sank to the bottom, the mist suddenly cleared, and the scenery shifted rapidly. Upon recollecting, the ’charcoal’ found itself in a small clearing outside the Sakura Pub in the North Beita Town.

Sister Korma stepped out of the pub with vigorous strides and kicked the ’charcoal’ twice, shaking off the black scorched skin to reveal the bewildered expression of the warlock.

”Weren’t you going to explain things for Professor Yao?” The North District Great Wise Person said with a dark face, swinging a whip in hand, cracking the surrounding air.

With her rebuke, unfamiliar and blurry figures gathered from all directions. They clasped their hands together in prayer, and each step they took echoed with the scream reminiscent of a dying frog in the air.

”I’ll go! I’m about to go! I will explain!”

The warlock waved his arms frantically, striving to prove his innocence: ”Though Professor Yao is a Great Demon... a Legendary Great Demon, he is still reasonable! I’ve known him for so long, and he hasn’t eaten me yet!”

Cole clasped one arm across her chest and pinched her chin with the other, suspiciously scrutinizing the young man: ”So, you knew the ’rumor’ was true all along?”

The warlock was momentarily speechless. As he hesitated, a sharp kick suddenly landed on his waist, it was the North District Grand-Wizard landing a fierce foot, sending him flying out of the Sakura Pub into the dense night outside: ”No more excuses... go and explain to Old Yao!”

Zheng Qing rolled on the ground like a ball.

When he disorientedly stood up, the surroundings had transformed into a wasteland, with the familiar yet heavy pressure oozing from all eight directions, suffocating him.

The young man lifted his head and did not see the familiar moon but instead saw two wheels of blood red.

No, it’s not two wheels.

As the thought flashed through his mind, beyond the two wheels of blood red, four more wheels of blood red suddenly appeared. Simultaneously, six wheels of blood red also illuminated a hazy, gigantic figure in the night.

It was a Three-headed and Eight-armed Giant Ape!

”Professor!”

Zheng Qing joyously waved his arms, jumping up and down to attract the Giant Ape’s attention: ”Professor! I’m here!... Sister asked me to bring a message! The rumors outside are sheer fabrication! They don’t concern Sister at all!”

The sound easily got lost in the boundless night, night breeze, and silence in the wilderness.

Yet it did not affect the divine thought of the Giant Ape.

It easily noticed that insignificant yet active figure in the wilderness. The six wheels of blood red drew dizzying trajectories in the night sky and finally fell overhead of the young man.

The oppressive gaze made the jubilant warlock gradually halt, feeling the unsettling sounds constantly approaching from behind the night, eventually choosing to take out the Law book and throw a lighting spell into the night sky:

”Let the moon illuminate the night!”

A golden round moon slowly rose from the Law book, initially extremely small, like a fly’s head. As it rapidly ascended, it grew larger, like a gold bean, like a bowl’s opening, like a jade dish, like a wheel, finally transforming into a true moon hanging on the horizon.

Zheng Qing never saw what the moon crafted from his lighting spell ultimately looked like.

Because he was frantically fleeing across the wilderness.

When the lighting spell reached halfway up, Zheng Qing saw clearly what the unsettling sound constantly approaching from behind the night was—a gigantic palm, fingers spread open like a small mountain, was covering the warlock’s head, slowly descending.

Boom!

A colossal sound erupted from behind.

The warlock looked back as he fled, seeing the gigantic palm falling where he’d just been standing. As the fingers closed, the entire ground was plowed into five deep grooves.

Zheng Qing dared to bet Li Meng’s plush bear that if he had stayed where he was, he’d surely be squeezed into a pulp by that enormous palm.

Boom! Boom!

A thunder-like sound emanated between the six wheels of blood red, faintly revealing the words of the Three-headed and Eight-armed Giant Ape. However, the sound wave was too overwhelming to hear distinctly.

The only thing Zheng Qing could confirm was that it hadn’t abandoned its plan to capture him. Eight arms swung like windmills, and eight gigantic palms fell from the sky one after another—boom, boom, boom!

The young man screamed miserably, desperately fleeing.

Behind, the Giant Ape roared, breathing like the wind, its voice like thunder. The massive fists descending from the sky were like falling hills, continuously striking close behind the warlock as if the next moment they would smash him into pulp.

During the escape, a deep, bottomless trench suddenly emerged ahead.

The warlock had no time to stop, closed his eyes, gnawed his teeth, and screamed, accelerating desperately, trying to leap over the trench. However, he ultimately overestimated his jumping abilities.

Bam!

The pitch-black, growing shadow of the trench became the last image in the warlock’s dream.

Shlap!

Accompanied by a scream, Zheng Qing rolled off the bed.
