High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1912: Chapter 133: Su Shijun’s Suggestion

On the floor.

A faint shadow quietly stayed at Zheng Qing’s feet, long and serene. However, compared to the shadows of the Little Fox or other tables, chairs, and bookshelves in the office, this shadow was too light in color.

Just like the difference between a cup of plain water and strong tea.

A sense of understanding arose in Zheng Qing’s heart, realizing that the ’mutated’ part of his shadow had been cut off, leaving behind the part that had ’grown back.’

Since this shadow was left behind, where did the cut-off shadow go?

The boy immediately looked around and quickly spotted an odd patch of black shadow in the corner of the office. There was no decoration in that corner, and there shouldn’t have been such a protruding shadow.

Seemingly aware of the warlock’s gaze, the small odd patch of black shadow slowly extended, as if squeezed out like toothpaste from the corner, turning into an irregular sphere, sticking and drifting on the floor.

”Why is it still here... hic!”

Zheng Qing looked up, choking before finishing his sentence. Behind the desk, Su Shijun had at some point removed the wide red-framed glasses from her face, crossing her arms and leisurely watching him.

Though it wasn’t the first time seeing Su Daxu’s true appearance, every time he saw her, it gave Zheng Qing a feeling of suffocation, his heart seemingly stopping for a moment.

If he were five or six years younger, like in the second year of middle school, he might have patted his head and mistaken this feeling for the impact of love.

But now, he knew this was merely his natural reaction to encountering beauty.

”What is?” The witch behind the desk tilted her head, looking innocent.

It took Zheng Qing a great effort to pull himself out of the trap of beauty. He forced himself to turn his head, looking at the dark blob of shadow on the floor, murmuring: ”... Why is it still here?”

”Where do you think it should be?” The melodious voice of the office owner came to his ear: ”Come over... why do you keep hiding there?”

The Little Fox reluctantly hopped off the coffee table, dragging its fluffy big tail on the floor, walking listlessly in the direction of the desk. This action interrupted the young cost student’s certain illusion — he almost thought the witch’s words were directed at him!

”Tail up!”

Even when stern, the witch’s voice sounded so charming, as she scolded the Little Fox: ”Hanging the tail down like that! Ladies and gentlemen should walk like ladies and gentlemen!”

Zheng Qing silently mourned for himself and the Little Fox for a second.

”I mean, I think it should be in the Two-dimensional World.”

To cover his inner awkwardness, the boy loudly answered Su Shijun’s previous question: ”... After the shadow was cut off last year, didn’t you stuff it into those two-dimensional trial worlds outside?”

The black shadow on the floor twisted, gesturing a thumbs-up to Zheng Qing, greatly surprising the warlock, who had expected the shadow wouldn’t want to return to the Two-dimensional World.

”Last year, your shadow was just an ordinary shadow, without a bit of magic power, without any weight, belonging to the purest shadow of the Two-dimensional World.”

Su Shijun lazily explained Zheng Qing’s confusion while grooming Poseidon’s long hair with a small comb that she pulled out from nowhere: ”... And now, your shadow has essentially changed. It once transcended from the Two-dimensional World. Even though it lost most of its magic power for some reason, as long as it accumulates enough, it can still recover.”

”Recover into a Big Black Cat?” Zheng Qing reflexively looked back at the witch, then squinted and withdrew his gaze, as if his eyes were scorched by the sun.

”It can be a Big Black Cat, or a Big White Dog, Big Yellow Fish, Big Parrot, and so on. It depends on certain more subtle factors.” A sigh came from behind the desk: ”... I’ve put on my glasses. You can look at me while we talk.”

Zheng Qing awkwardly looked at Su Shijun, apologizing for his lack of self-control.

But immediately, he threw that apology to the clouds.

Because Su Shijun hadn’t put on the enchantment-concealing red-framed glasses, instead changing to a pair of frameless gold-rimmed glasses, matching her jet black bun and white neck, her overall charm directly skyrocketed.

The warlock grunted, closing his eyes directly.

He heard a snickering sound from the Little Fox behind the desk, and he vaguely sensed the two foxes behind the desk laughing together, deeply feeling helpless.

”Alright, this time I’ve really put on the glasses.” Su Shijun didn’t continue to tease the boy.

Zheng Qing bravely opened his eyes and looked over directly.

After all, he wasn’t at a loss — he thought viciously in his heart.

But to his disappointment and relief, Su Shijun had indeed put on that red-framed glasses again, diminishing her charm to the level an ordinary wizard could accept.

”Anything else?” The witch cuddled the Little Fox, appearing as if she was about to send off a guest.

Zheng Qing hesitated for a few seconds.

He had many things to confirm, like whether Poseidon’s assignments aren’t something he needs to worry about, the current whereabouts of the Rat Immortal, and the relationship between the Moon Council and the Dark Council, and so on.

But when he spoke, only one thing remained: ”That thing I asked you to look into before... is there any project in the school involving Ogres...”

”Are you here to cut shadows or to collect debts?” Su Shijun joked, shaking her head slightly: ”I checked the recent experimental subjects brought into the Research Institute, there are no projects involving Two-headed Ogres... Projects involving the Black Prison are mostly focused on the magic environment and tidal theory, and there are no projects solely for a certain magical creature.”

”I see.”

”What are you planning this time?” The office owner looked at him with caution.

”I’m just an ordinary little wizard, what bad plans can I have!”

”Ha, the one who half killed the current Augustus, destroyed the Magic Mirror in the school history museum, destroyed the School Guardian Array, and even destroyed the wizards of the Black Prison Stronghold... and you tell me you’re ordinary? Do you even know how to write those four words?”

Zheng Qing retreated in embarrassment.

When he reached the door, the witch behind the desk suddenly spoke again: ”Are you familiar with the Wandering Bar?”

The warlock turned, looking puzzled: ”Huh?”

”Just a casual mention, you may take it as you wish.” Su Shijun leisurely stretched, revealing a graceful figure, yawning softly: ”Based on my school experience... if you want to find a slightly special experimental subject, and the school doesn’t have it, going to the Wandering Bar to try your luck never goes wrong.”

”Wandering Bar, huh?” Zheng Qing pondered.

”Filthy things usually appear in filthy places,” the witch pushed the large glasses that hid her charm, smiling slightly: ”... surrounded by filthy wizards, cursing filthy words.”
