Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 450: Chapter 246: Apple of His Eye (First Update)

Autumn Stetford knew that Aiden Sheldon really disliked Ava Harlow, but it was hard for her to object to their interaction, after all, Ava was somewhat related to her.

So over the years, even though she remained in touch with Ava, she consciously concealed news about Ava to avoid adding to Aiden’s frustration.

Today was an unexpected turn of events, almost ruining everything.

Autumn steadied herself, her fingers tracing over the character ”琴” in her contacts, and finally decided to let it be.

Since it was already discovered, making changes would only make things worse.

She understood Aiden Sheldon’s character well; making mistakes was okay, but evading responsibility for them would be a death sentence in his eyes.

Autumn thought about this, feeling a bit upset.

Aiden Sheldon wasn’t this harsh in the past.

He used to be known in the business world as a gentleman as gentle as jade, kind but not overly affectionate, gentle yet not weak, intelligent but never aggressive.

In business, he always believed in leaving some room for others to save face.

Even for competitors, he would leave a glimmer of hope, thus making many friends in business circles.

But now, he fears more than anything not being able to thoroughly defeat those who steal his business, and even Autumn, a woman decisive and ruthless in business, finds it difficult to watch.

She even secretly helped some businesses that Aiden was harshly dealing with out of compassion.

Such a good man, how did he become like this?

Autumn sat at the vanity by the bed doing her nighttime skincare routine, and sighed deeply at her reflection in the mirror.

She was only thankful that Aiden Sheldon was a man of long-term affection and not lecherous, otherwise with his wealth, he could have several mistresses if he wanted.

Like Ava Harlow’s husband, Cameron Spencer, who is more than ten years older than Aiden, and whose wealth is just a fraction of Aiden’s, yet he still has countless women.

He openly calls three women he brought home ”wife,” not to mention his previous wives...

Autumn finished her routine and noticed that Aiden Sheldon hadn’t returned yet.

She didn’t dare call him but was still worried.

After a while of deliberation, she called her darling daughter, asking her to go find her father.

No matter his mood, only his darling daughter could soothe Aiden Sheldon.

Not only the Sheldon Family, but everyone in the Sheldon Consortium also knows that Aiden Sheldon’s only daughter is his precious gem.

If someone makes a mistake, they simply need to ask the eldest Sheldon daughter for help, and it will be okay.

While Aiden Sheldon’s two sons seem like they were just picked up randomly.

...

Aiden Sheldon came out of the bedroom, feeling a bit stifled.

He walked alone to the courtyard to smoke.

He had no other bad habits except he couldn’t give up smoking.

His friends all teased him, saying he was such a model youth that he didn’t smoke until his twenties, but started in his thirties.

Once he started, it lasted for so many years, and he couldn’t quit, nor did he want to.

Their house in Capital City was once a Prince’s mansion, later renovated with many modern facilities, making it comfortable to live in.

The property’s landscape was excellent, even with a pond in the garden, willow trees swaying in spring, and the back garden in full bloom, making it very pleasant to live in.

But now it was winter, and the garden was barren.

He stood beneath a crooked willow tree, lost in thought as he looked over the moonlit pond.

After finishing a cigarette, he tossed the butt into a hidden trash can by the willow tree.

Turning to leave, he saw a young girl in a fluffy white fox fur cape standing silently behind him at an angle.

Aiden Sheldon started slightly, then immediately walked over, holding the young girl’s hand, and said with a hint of reproach, ”It’s so cold outside, how could you come without calling me? What if you catch a cold?”

”It’s alright, Dad. I saw that you were troubled and smoking was your only distraction, so I didn’t say anything. Although I don’t like others smoking, Dad is an exception...” The young girl leaned her head against Aiden’s arm, speaking very obediently.

She was Aiden and Autumn’s youngest daughter, Ruby Sheldon, nicknamed Betty.

She was petite, with delicate features, looking younger than her actual age.

Aiden lovingly embraced her shoulders, ”Come on, let me take Betty back. Was it your mom who sent you? No need to listen to her in everything; she knows I am in a bad mood.”

Ruby Sheldon shook her head, ”Even without Mom saying, I planned to find Dad; you haven’t said goodnight to me yet!”
