Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 411: Chapter 221: Turning the Tide

Surprisingly, Lawrence Winters hadn’t figured out how to resolve Lucas Harlow’s predicament when a major scandal suddenly erupted on Weibo!

She was holding her phone, aimlessly browsing Weibo, when she suddenly saw many people tagging her.

She clicked to take a look and almost fainted!

It turned out someone had suddenly found another marketing account with millions of followers to leak chat screenshots from Arthur Johnson’s fan group!

[”Promise Keeper~”]: How about this, let’s stir up a trending topic. Think about it, as long as we can tarnish Lucas Harlow’s reputation, he won’t have the potential to become popular! It’s not the time when even being infamous meant fame; now if he has any scandal, he’s bound to flop!

[”Starshine Love”]: Our goal is to make him flop; he can’t compete with our Zhao for the number one spot!

[”Star Loyal Fans”]: Exactly! Only our Zhao can be number one! No one else deserves it!

[”Only Love Star”]: Yes, yes! Let him make keys! Ask him to make a few!

[”Promise Keeper~”]: Don’t you find it strange? Others rise to fame either through patrons or projects. What does Lucas Harlow have?

[”Promise Keeper~”]: He’s never played a lead role, always a supporting character, with average acting skills, yet he’s always had roles for so many years, even if they’re supporting ones, they’re in big directors’ works. Isn’t that strange?

[”Happy Watching Star Everyday”]: Yeah... why is that? Doesn’t he really have a patron behind him? — Impossible! Every star has a patron. He surely does too!

[”Let’s Watch Star Rain Together”]: From what I know, some major directors’ works aren’t roles just anyone can play. I suspect Lucas Harlow has patrons behind him, more than one!

[”See You Again, Star”]: ... So Lucas Harlow, is he being kept by several wealthy women?

[”Star Three”]: Yes, yes, yes! That must be it! That’s it! — Come on, let’s spread the tag!

Six screenshots quickly went viral on the internet!

The onlookers were amazed.

”Oh my god! I actually witnessed the birth of a rumor with my own eyes! — Once in a lifetime experience!”

”Yeah, totally unexpected! Those explosive revelations that seemed to come from under Lucas Harlow’s bed were actually made up by these young girls just chatting?!”

”Do they think rumor-mongering isn’t illegal?”

”Spreading rumors over 500 times is illegal, FYI.”

”Hmph, at most detained for two days, fined 500 bucks. — The cost of breaking the law is too low, no deterrent at all.”

”Alas, the world is getting worse, the world is getting worse... This is how the internet environment is deteriorating step by step...”

This time, some passersby began to sympathize with Lucas Harlow, feeling sorry that although he didn’t have these scandals, he was portrayed as having relied on rich patrons to enter the industry, severely affecting his personal reputation.

Many were asking him to come out and sue those rumor-mongering fans, especially those big fans of Arthur Johnson.

Because Arthur Johnson’s fan group is the most powerful in the entertainment circle, even most legitimate entertainment companies can’t rival them.

So relying on passersby alone, it’s still not possible to bring down Arthur Johnson’s momentum.

Moreover, Arthur Johnson’s longest-standing super fan ”Star One” immediately stood up, kicked ”Promise Keeper~” out, claiming that she was actually a black fan infiltrating from another camp, deliberately stirring up drama.

Also said this was the behavior of rival black fans, unrelated to Arthur Johnson, and asked everyone not to blame it on him.

Because ”Star One” clarified in time, some passersby gradually accepted this explanation.

After all, Arthur Johnson’s number one spot is deeply rooted in people’s hearts, and the previous explosive screenshots were indeed just the actions of bored fans, not attributable to Arthur Johnson himself.

It seemed like this matter was going to be quelled just like that.

Because of Arthur Johnson’s fans’ timely response, the topic was pushed back to the hot search.

Many passersby still had the impression of Lucas Harlow being kept, not noticing the subsequent chat screenshots.

And although some fans unfollowed Arthur Johnson and backstabbed him, overall, the damage was minimal and still within a controllable range.

Just as Lawrence Winters breathed a sigh of relief, planning to start another wave of hot search to cleanse the dirt thrown on Lucas Harlow, another wave of hot search began.

This time, it turned out someone had leaked another screenshot.

This time it was a screenshot of Arthur Johnson’s assistant Xiao You chatting with the big fans in his fan group.

In the screenshot, he complained about the company suppressing Arthur Johnson, specifically finding someone to write TV scripts to promote Lucas Harlow, clearly intending to give up on his favorite idol.

Then he asked the big fans to ”find some trouble” for Lucas Harlow, not allowing him to climb over Arthur Johnson to fame.
