Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 440: Chapter 240: Plans Can’t Keep Up with Changes (Part 2)

Kenneth Osborne was slightly taken aback, then overjoyed, as he wrapped his arms around her waist and said, ”Are you serious?! When I come back after the New Year, we’ll live together?!”

”Yes.” Lawrence Winters nodded seriously, ”We’re already engaged. It’s perfectly normal to live together before marriage, right? Crazy Sis did it that way, and Three Billion Sis also said that you must live together before marriage, or else you might not discover some bad habits until after you’re married, and then it’s too late.”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He was a bit displeased, saying, ”I don’t have any bad habits; you don’t need to live with me to test that.”

”But I’m afraid I might have some...” Lawrence Winters quickly reassured him, looking affectionately at Kenneth Osborne, ”Look at how wonderful you are. If after living together you realize you don’t actually like my ways, you’ll still have time to break up.”

”I won’t break up with you...” Kenneth Osborne held her waist tightly, ”Besides, what you’re like, do you really think I don’t know? When you were little, playing in the mud on rainy days, got all covered in mud, you were scared of being caught by your mom and uncle, planning to stay outside all night until your clothes dried before going home, if it weren’t for me...”

Lawrence Winters was incredibly embarrassed and quickly covered Kenneth Osborne’s mouth, ”I was only four years old then! Four years old! Can your memory not be so good?”

Kenneth Osborne laughed and said, ”So, living together means something different for us than it does for others. Don’t apply other people’s experiences to the two of us.”

”... I got it.” Lawrence Winters thought about it carefully and agreed that Kenneth was right.

Actually, they’ve shared a room to sleep before.

Of course, that was in their youth, when they finished tutoring sessions together and took naps in the room.

On those bright summer afternoons, River City was especially hot and humid, and their home didn’t have air conditioning, so they napped with their arms as pillows, sweating.

As soon as she woke up, she would clamor for ice cream and popsicles.

Kenneth Osborne would take her to the street corner, using his pocket money to buy a big box to bring home and eat slowly.

So she knew Kenneth Osborne was well-behaved when sleeping, he didn’t snore, nor did he have the typical boy’s messy smell of untidiness.

He was a little idol from a young age, and now he’s a true idol.

How did she ever get such luck to ”marry” the male god...

Oh no, she meant to ”get married to” the male god.

Lawrence Winters pursed her lips in a smile and said, ”When we’re together, I want to go back and see the faces of your classmates, to enjoy the envy and jealousy from everyone.”

Kenneth Osborne said, ”That’s easy. I’ll just post our photos on my social media, and soon you’ll see how envious and jealous they are of you.”

Being alone together in Kenneth’s newly purchased house was indeed comfortable, with no disturbances, allowing them to do whatever they wanted.

But when it came time to eat, Lawrence Winters still wanted to go home.

She couldn’t help it; the old Daoist’s cooking was just too good, and now food outside just didn’t taste as satisfying.

Kenneth Osborne knew her little habit, plus he was already actively learning to cook with the old Daoist, mastering several dishes in hopes of satisfying Lawrence Winters’ good appetite in the future.

He took her with him towards her home.

Once they were in the car, Lawrence Winters fastened her seatbelt and asked, ”Have you bought your plane ticket yet? When are you going back to River City?”

Kenneth Osborne said, ”I’ll buy the ticket tomorrow, going back on New Year’s Eve.”

”New Year’s Eve? That’s still a few days away.” Lawrence Winters nodded, ”For now, just stay at my place.”

Kenneth Osborne agreed, ”That house, let’s move in after I come back from River City.”

Lawrence Winters felt a bit reluctant as well.

Before, she only saw Kenneth Osborne during winter and summer vacations.

But this time, ever since she started studying in Capital City, the two had been almost inseparable for a whole year.

Now facing a two-week separation, she found it a bit unbearable.

The power of habit is really terrifying.

Kenneth Osborne quickly drove into Lawrence Winters’ neighborhood, and at the entrance, they saw a particularly long moving truck unloading.

”... Is another family moving in?” Lawrence Winters curiously asked, ”I heard that these homes rarely go on sale; everyone enjoys living here so much.”

Kenneth Osborne didn’t pay much attention and said, ”Few as they are, some people do sell. Otherwise, how did your family buy a house here?”

”That’s true.” Lawrence Winters nodded, and together with Kenneth Osborne, they parked their car.

The two held hands, exchanging those mundane words which are extremely boring to ordinary people, but endlessly endearing to lovers, as they walked towards the elevator.

Just then, Kenneth Osborne’s phone rang.

He picked it up to see and suddenly stopped in his tracks.

”What’s the matter?” Lawrence Winters asked curiously.

”...It’s a call from my mom.” Kenneth Osborne suddenly had an uneasy feeling, but he still swiped to answer the call.

”Mom.”

”Ah, Arwen?!” Kenneth’s mom’s booming voice came through the phone, ”Got good news for you! We’re coming to Capital City for the New Year! No need for you to come back! You haven’t bought your ticket yet, right?! I remember you said you were getting a ticket for New Year’s Eve, right?”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He immediately felt a bit of a headache and quickly said, ”Mom, didn’t I say I was coming back to spend the New Year with you? Why come to Capital City? There isn’t as much space here as there is at home.”

”Tsk, you don’t need to find a place for us! It’s your sister and brother-in-law!” Kenneth’s mom exuberantly announced with great excitement, ”Your brother-in-law bought her an apartment on the second ring in Capital City, over 500 square meters! It’s in your sister’s name! He wants her to have a home in Capital City! This New Year, we’ll spend it together with them there! And your dad and I have gone into retirement, planning to look after your sister’s kids here permanently!”

Kenneth Osborne suddenly recalled the moving truck at the entrance of the neighborhood moments ago, and the ominous feeling in his heart became clearer.
