Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 446: Chapter 243: Stirring Things Up with the Imperial Sword of Authority (Part 2)

Brooke’s mom was simply overjoyed to hear this.

This was like a royal decree from Mr. Spencer for them to act!

If anyone dared to play tricks on her daughter, she’d see to it that they pay!

This was indeed Cameron Spencer’s heartfelt intention.

To become Cameron Spencer’s wife and manage half of the Spencer Family, Brooke Osborne was actually unqualified.

However, her nature truly moved him.

He had been strong and selfish all his life, so having such a pure-hearted woman accompany him in his later years, and even bear him a son, was truly his blessing.

Cameron Spencer was very aware of what ”blessing” meant, so he wouldn’t foolishly drive this ”blessing” away.

Seeing Brooke’s mom’s ”superior” combativeness, Cameron Spencer felt reassured.

At least Brooke Osborne and Winter Spencer’s matters no longer needed his attention.

Thus, Cameron Spencer changed his mind and decided to spend the New Year in Z City, and told his personal secretary to inform everyone in the Spencer Family, including some closer relatives.

...

The next day, Second Mrs. Ava Harlow and Third Mrs. Hazel Winchester both received the news.

Both women were very puzzled and complained to their daughters respectively.

Ava Harlow said to Spring Spencer, ”Spring, what’s up with your dad? He clearly promised that this year he’d take his new flame and little son to the Capital City for New Year. I even booked my flight tickets abroad, but he suddenly changed his mind!”

Spring Spencer was also confused and wondered out loud, ”Really? Why did he change his mind? I just got back from the Capital City and heard that Dad bought a large flat in the second ring for Fourth Aunt.”

The ”Fourth Aunt” she referred to was naturally Brooke Osborne.

Ava Harlow scoffed, ”Who knows, but it was his personal secretary who informed me, it couldn’t be false.”

Spring Spencer thought for a while and said calmly, ”Then go ahead and cancel your flight tickets. Dad’s gathering everyone for New Year, you should prepare too, it’s been a while since we’ve seen the relatives.”

”Of course I have to cancel, what other choice do I have.” Ava Harlow sighed, ”I was planning to go on a cruise around the world with your Aunt Stetford this Spring Festival.”

”By the way, where are Aunt Stetford and the others celebrating New Year this year?” Spring Spencer asked curiously, ”They usually celebrate abroad, right?”

”Yes, they don’t celebrate New Year domestically. The Stetford Family is usually abroad, although her in-laws are in the country, they mostly don’t celebrate in the country. You know, with her in-law’s status, if they celebrated domestically once, the doorsteps would be worn out!”

Ava Harlow said with a smile, eyes flashing with a hint of wistfulness.

Spring Spencer nodded, ”Then have a good chat with Aunt Stetford. I’ll hang up now, I need to try on some clothes for tonight’s company annual event, remember to arrive early.”

”That’s not a problem for me.” Ava Harlow said, then suddenly remembered something, ”By the way, are you bringing your boyfriend this year? I heard that the third daughter is bringing her boyfriend to the event this year.”

Spring Spencer, already prepared, smiled and said, ”Well, you’ll see then.”

...

Meanwhile, Hazel Winchester was also on the phone with Summer Spencer, saying, ”Summer, your dad suddenly changed his mind. He’s not going to Capital City to celebrate with Fourth and his little son, but will stay here for New Year and has invited many Spencer relatives. Who knows what he’s up to.”

Summer Spencer didn’t mind at all and laughed, ”Isn’t that great? Mom, what are you worried about? You weren’t planning to travel abroad for New Year anyway, just stay home and play mahjong with friends, there’s nothing to miss out on.”

”I know, but it just feels a bit odd.” Hazel Winchester patted her chest, disgruntled, ”I heard your dad changed the testament. Ever since your elder brother passed away, he changed the will. I’m so worried he’ll leave everything to his little son.”

Summer Spencer chuckled, ”A newborn, what are you worried about? Let me tell you, some people, despite being sons, still can’t touch a penny of the family fortune! They even get sent off as adopted sons to the disabled... hehe...”

Hazel Winchester was taken aback, ”No way? Who does that? Which family would send their son away and leave the inheritance to their daughter?”

Summer Spencer laughed slyly, ”I’m just saying, don’t mind it. By the way, my new boyfriend will accompany me to the annual event this time. He’s the Crown Prince of Ride Wind Commercial Properties Ltd. in C City and an only child, Dad will definitely be pleased.”

Hazel Winchester perked up, ”Oh? Ride Wind Commercial Properties in C City? That tough nut your sister and dad once wanted to crack! Their land is worth a fortune now! You’re amazing, Summer!”

Summer Spencer smiled silently and hung up the phone.

This time, in the Capital City, she met many people while running the entertainment company, including this Sommers Family playboy who liked to mingle with budding stars.

...

This evening is the Spencer Group’s annual gala.

It is also one of the nation’s highly anticipated events.

Every year, people start speculating mid-year about who Spencer Group will invite as the host, which celebrities will appear, and which business and political figures will attend.

This year’s event was no exception.

Especially since Spencer Group had suffered severe setbacks this year, they needed a more lively annual event than ever to boost morale and showcase Spencer Group’s profound strength and capability to business partners and clients.

Moreover, with Cameron Spencer’s only son passing away, there were concerns about Spencer Group’s sustainable development.

Cameron Spencer, having a son in his old age, certainly wanted to flaunt this year’s gala to reassure everyone.

He’s a businessman, but not one who believes in quietly getting rich, rather he subscribes to ”richest when wealth is flaunted” type of business.
