Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 417: Chapter 224: Childhood Sweethearts

Kenneth Osborne was surprised to see Lucas Harlow opening the door, but he managed to control his expression very well. Only a flicker of something unreadable flashed through his bright eyes.

He nodded calmly, ”Mr. Harlow, you’re here too. Unfortunately, I only brought one dinner.”

Lucas Harlow then turned to Lawrence Winters and asked in surprise, ”Lawrence, haven’t you had dinner yet?”

Lawrence touched his stomach, smiled awkwardly, and said, ”...I was too busy today, ran out of energy, and forgot to eat.”

Kenneth Osborne walked past Lucas Harlow, calmly came to Lawrence Winters’ side, bent down, opened the thermal lunch box, and took out several small boxes, placing them on the coffee table in front of the sofa.

”Have some soup first, then try the cola-flavored pork. This is made by the old expert himself. There’s also a small bowl of fried rice with eggs I made.” Kenneth smiled and placed the soup spoon and chopsticks beside Lawrence’s hand.

Lawrence was so touched he felt like crying. He wasn’t very hungry initially, but suddenly he became quite famished.

Kenneth smiled slightly, sat down beside him, and took out a small bottle of warm coconut milk from the thermal lunch box. He opened it and gently placed it at Lawrence’s lips, ”Drink some coconut milk first; it’s good for your stomach.”

Lawrence drank it from his hand, then picked up the soup spoon to drink the soup.

The soup bowl and coconut milk bottle were palm-sized, quite small. After finishing them, Lawrence’s appetite was stimulated.

While Lawrence was drinking milk and soup, Kenneth mixed the cola-flavored pork with the fried rice with eggs.

The tender pork softened the slightly hard rice grains, but it didn’t turn mushy, just became more chewy.

The egg pieces in the fried rice were soft and moderate, with just a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor. The corn kernels and peas were distinct in yellow and green, refreshing and delightful. Now soaked with the meat juices from the cola-flavored pork, the taste was fully intensified.

After mixing the dish for him, Kenneth simply picked up a spoon and started feeding it to Lawrence.

He did it so naturally, and Lawrence was so used to being with him that he didn’t feel anything was amiss.

Lawrence ate with a smile on his face, eagerly opening his mouth for each spoonful like a little chick waiting to be fed.

Kenneth’s lips gradually curved upwards, and he occasionally freed one hand to wipe away the rice grains from Lawrence’s chin with a napkin.

Lawrence had a tendency to drop food when eating.

No one knew where he inherited this trait from. Gabrielle Winters and Nick Zeller tried correcting him since childhood, but he still occasionally dropped rice grains on the dining table.

Details like this, of course, were only known by Kenneth, who grew up with him.

He did it with such subtlety that Lucas Harlow felt like he was sitting on pins and needles watching.

After a while, Lucas couldn’t sit still anymore. He stood up and said, ”Since Arthur Johnson is fine, I’ll leave now.”

Lawrence still had food in his mouth, so he quickly swallowed and said, ”Mm-hmm, don’t worry. I’ll message you when he wakes up.”

Lucas paused at the door, didn’t turn back, and said, ”Alright, I’ll be waiting for your message.”

As he opened the door to leave, he quickly glanced into the single hospital room.

Kenneth was holding a small bottle of water, feeding it to Lawrence, gently chiding him, ”...It’s easy to choke when eating fried rice with eggs. Chew a few more times before swallowing. What’s the rush?”

”I’m not rushing, it’s just that Arthur is leaving,” Lawrence mumbled, opening his mouth to Kenneth again, ”I want more.”

Kenneth put down the bottled water and continued feeding Lawrence.

After finishing the meal, Lawrence contentedly leaned back on the sofa, struggling to keep his eyes open.

”Kenneth, I’m so sleepy...” He yawned, looking drowsy, and gradually leaned his head towards Kenneth’s shoulder.

Kenneth lifted his arm, and Lawrence naturally fell into his embrace.

The single hospital room in the evening wasn’t cold due to the central air conditioning.

However, Kenneth still took off his jacket and draped it over Lawrence.

Completely nestled in his arms, Lawrence breathed in his familiar scent, feeling very secure and comfortable.

...

The next morning, Arthur Johnson opened his eyes, staring blankly at the white ceiling above.

After a moment, he looked around.

Turns out he wasn’t dead; he was in a hospital room.

Who saved him?

He had no memory of what happened after taking those pills last night.

His head felt heavy as he turned it slightly and saw a man and a woman asleep on the couch in the corner.

The man was incredibly good-looking, even more so than him, a top-tier celebrity.

And as for the woman...

Huh? Isn’t she the spokesperson for their company’s PR department? Also Lucas Harlow’s manager...

It seems she’s named Lawrence Winters.
