Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 405: Chapter 218: Sewing Wedding Clothes for Others

”Hello, Ms. Spencer, this is Arthur Johnson.”

Arthur Johnson has been famous for so many years, it’s rare for him to speak humbly to anyone anymore.

Speaking in such a normal tone was a groundbreaking move for him in recent years.

Summer Spencer, wearing a Bluetooth earpiece, said with a smile, ”Ah, Mr. Johnson, what a rarity. How can I help you?”

Arthur Johnson pulled back the corner of his mouth and said softly, ”I’m quite interested in your last proposal, Ms. Spencer. I wonder if we could talk in detail?”

”Oh, I see...” Summer Spencer pretended to take the mouse, clicked a bit on her computer, and said, ”I’m quite busy these days, without any time until mid-next month. Do you think you could wait until then, Mr. Johnson?”

Arthur Johnson hadn’t expected Summer Spencer to be this less eager.

To persuade him to leave Edward Foster’s NewHuman Corporation, Summer had pulled out all the stops, once even calling him almost every night for a while.

He thought this deal was as good as done.

He didn’t understand this maneuver.

Arthur Johnson hesitated for a moment but still said, ”Alright then, let’s talk in mid-next month.”

But after thinking it over, he reminded Summer Spencer, ”My contract with NewHuman Corporation expires in three months. Other companies have also approached me, but you have been the most sincere, which is why I have a good impression of your company.”

This was actually a reminder to Summer Spencer that he wasn’t solely dependent on her company.

Summer Spencer, of course, understood Arthur Johnson’s implication. She smiled ambiguously and said, ”Got it. Thank you for your favor, Mr. Johnson. See you next month!”

With that, Summer Spencer took the initiative to hang up the phone.

Arthur Johnson felt quite displeased, but Summer Spencer was overjoyed.

She stood up from her seat, humming a tune, and twirled around her spacious office doing a waltz.

She raised her arm as if resting it on someone’s shoulder, tracing a circle with her long legs forward and back, finally sitting back down in her seat.

After chuckling to herself for a bit, she picked up another phone and made a call.

”Heidi, are you free now?”

The person on the other side was pleasantly surprised, ”Is it you, Miss Ping? I’m free, what’s up?”

Summer Spencer smiled and asked, ”Have you thought about the conditions I mentioned last time?”

”How could I possibly consider it?” The person on the other end laughed a little awkwardly, ”I’ve been with him for several years now. What you’re asking me to do might not be so fair, don’t you think?”

”Really?” Summer Spencer laughed and said, ”I’ll pay you half the money now, and the other half after it’s done. — Come on, send me your bank account number.”

Sending her bank account details was essentially verifying her identity.

The woman called ”Heidi” hesitated for a while but was ultimately tempted by the substantial benefits and sent over her bank account details and real name, Heidi Hunt.

Seeing the name matched the one they had investigated, Summer Spencer sneered slightly, quickly tapping her fingers to send the money to Heidi Hunt.

Not long after, Heidi Hunt saw her bank account balance increase by 2.5 million!

That was money she could never earn in her lifetime...

Plus, there’d be another 2.25 million after the job was done, enough to buy a small apartment in a first-tier city!

Heidi Hunt had always dreamed of owning her own home.

Seeing the money credited, she no longer hesitated and agreed without further ado, ”Alright, understood.”

Once paid, the agreement was as good as signed.

...

NewHuman Corporation was anxiously crafting a script for Lucas Harlow, while other departments were also busy.

”Mr. Foster, the largest charity organization in the country wants to shoot a public service short film, and Arthur Johnson is interested in getting this opportunity,” Zoe Johnson reported to Edward Foster, hoping to get company support.

Even though Arthur Johnson was considering leaving, he was still the top artist at NewHuman Corporation, with significant market appeal. Especially among fans, his fan base, the ”Johnson Family,” was incredibly responsive, calling themselves the ”Ironclad Johnsons.”

Their slogan: ”When the Johnson’s march, no grass grows.”

Thanks to this tightly-knit fan community, Arthur Johnson ranked high on various charts, as fans willingly boosted his ranking, spent money for him, and created data.

And when investors looked at whether a celebrity brought their own stream of traffic, they assessed these numbers.

So Arthur Johnson still held strong appeal in advertising resources.

And this charity organization’s public service advertisement was reportedly being directed by the world’s most famous director. Though short, the budget rivaled a blockbuster movie.
