Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 438: Chapter 239: This Bedroom Belongs to Its Mistress (Third Update)

Kenneth Osborne maintained a smile on the surface, but in his heart, he was somewhat dismissive.

Especially seeing the old Daoist’s high evaluation of Lucas Harlow, he felt a bit rebellious and smiled, saying: ”Actually, Nora was asking about Edward Foster. How well does the old sage know Edward? He should be quite similar to Lucas, right?”

The old Daoist gave him a meaningful look and said, ”What’s there to say about Edward Foster? Just that way...”

”What way is that?” Lawrence Winters was also curious, ”Right, I was obviously asking about Edward Foster, why did you start talking about Lucas Harlow?”

The old Daoist thought to himself, what’s the point of talking about Edward Foster? Haven’t I already said enough?

But since these two were persistent, he had to reluctantly say something.

After pondering for a moment, the old Daoist said lightly, ”Edward Foster’s life chart is a good one, able to turn misfortune into blessing, and is better than Kenneth’s.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Might as well not have asked, no wonder the grandmaster didn’t talk about Edward Foster before, and spoke directly about Lucas Harlow.

Kenneth also felt odd, but he was in a better mood.

Because this meant the old Daoist didn’t think much of Edward Foster at all, what was there to worry about?

But then again, he’s a firm materialist, what was there to worry about, no matter how wonderfully the old Daoist spoke?

He quickly glanced at Lawrence Winters, deciding to work harder at running the company, to develop it quickly and make it so that Lawrence no longer had to rely on this ”family business” for a living.

He really didn’t want the woman he loved to be seen as a charlatan roaming about ”deceiving people,” even if she had some spiritual abilities, he didn’t want others to see.

He wanted to keep her hidden and private, away from the view of others.

Lawrence Winters shrugged, ”Alright, actually their life charts being good has nothing to do with us, I was just curious to ask.”

The old Daoist nodded with a smile, ”That’s right, what does it really matter to you how others are? Life is about the three words, do I want to?”

Lawrence Winters widened his eyes in surprise and said, ”Grandmaster, do you also think like that?! — That’s exactly how I think!”

Looking at her, she seemed ready to pounce and shake hands with the old Daoist in agreement.

”Hahaha... It’s not surprising, this is the tradition of our school, I think this way, and so do you, which is right!”

Then he gave Nick Zeller a meaningful look, elongating his voice, ”Isn’t that right? Little apprentice?”

Nick Zeller’s tall and slightly chubby appearance really didn’t fit with the cute nickname ”little apprentice.”

Lawrence Winters quickly lowered her head, hiding the laughter she almost couldn’t hold back.

Kenneth Osborne leisurely put his hands in his pockets, watching the fun, and managed to keep a straight face.

Nick Zeller sat on the sofa, snorted from his nose, and still picked up the Celestial Path Sect app he had been swiping through, saying sarcastically, ”Of course, Lawrence is destined to be the heir of our Zeller clan!”

The smile on Kenneth Osborne’s face slightly faded.

Lawrence Winters, however, looked up happily and said, ”Uncle, don’t worry, I will definitely take care of you in your old age!”

Nick Zeller: ”...”

He’s only in his forties! What talk about old age?!

Does he look old?!

Nick Zeller rolled his eyes at Lawrence Winters with a bit of resentment, and unwillingly said, ”Then I wish you have today every year, and this moment every year.”

Lawrence Winters: Can that sentence be used for blessings here?

She suddenly had a clever idea, smiled, and clasped her hands together saying, ”Then I’ll offer flowers to the Buddha, and give these words to grandmaster, wishing grandmaster youthful vigor, fortunes as vast as the Eastern Sea, and longevity compared to the Southern Mountains!”

The old Daoist was almost choked, blurting out, ”Today isn’t my birthday! What year after year?! And longevity with the Southern Mountains?!”

”Your birthday is fake anyway, why can’t we celebrate and bless you today?” Lawrence Winters said with a smile, ”In any case, today is the day Kenneth and I got engaged, I don’t want to hear any inappropriate words.”

As she said this, she shot a wary glance at Nick Zeller.

Nick Zeller lifted his eyelids to look at her, wanted to say something, but swallowed it back.

Her engagement passed smoothly without any disturbance.

Although it seemed that Nick Zeller was a bit resistant, his mood remained mostly normal.

Gabrielle Winters and the old Daoist were clearly supportive.

Lawrence Winters was most worried about getting past Gabrielle Winters, and now that it went so easily, she felt a peculiar sense of unreality.

The two returned to Lawrence’s room, looking at each other, and suddenly felt a different kind of mood than before.

Kenneth had the thought: ...At least a stamp was put on Nora, and those trying to poach would now be homewreckers...

Lawrence’s thought: Engagement is great, there’s a big diamond ring to be had! Kenneth is so wonderful! He didn’t even forget my childhood wishes!

...

After confirming their engagement, Kenneth Osborne began to pack his things to move to the house he bought.

Before, staying at Lawrence Winters’ house was to pursue her, to take advantage of being close.

Now that they’re engaged, living in the woman’s house is something his pride cannot accept, even if she doesn’t say anything.

Besides, when two people are in love, they dislike being disturbed by others.

Though the apartment was large, it was filled with Lawrence Winters’ relatives, three pairs of eyes constantly watching them.

Kenneth was even less comfortable.

So he decided to take this opportunity to move out, preparing for their future married life.

Although Lawrence Winters was reluctant, she didn’t stop him, and helped Kenneth Osborne pack and hire movers.

The new house wasn’t as big as the apartment, but the decorations and furnishings were great, with a very modern minimalist style.

For Kenneth Osborne living alone, it was the standard hip and modern bachelor pad.

Lawrence didn’t want to clutter it with her jars and bottles, which would ruin the overall vibe.

Kenneth noticed this and quietly did some research, buying a whole set of skincare and makeup products suitable for Lawrence Winters and the master bedroom’s bathroom, placing them on a vanity table by the window in the master bedroom.

This vanity table was the only piece of furniture in the bedroom that didn’t look masculine, but it wasn’t particularly feminine either.

If you ignored the big mirror, it looked like a post-modern style desk.

You could put a laptop there and surf the internet in the comfy armchair.

Moreover, it’s a hidden style, the big mirror can be laid down as the table surface, the drawers for bottles and jars can descend, leaving the surface clean and empty.

Lawrence Winters smiled and said, ”This vanity table is really nice, Kenneth, why don’t you lay the mirror down? Put those jars and bottles back in the drawer, then it won’t affect the overall style of your bedroom.”

”I don’t want to put it down, I’ll just leave it like this, letting others know there’s a woman in this bedroom,” Kenneth said meaningfully.

Lawrence Winters’ face turned red.

What kind of charming seduction is this?!

Mom, she can’t handle it!
