Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 441: Chapter 241: Epic Instigation

Kenneth Osborne stood there holding his phone, while Lawrence Winters was holding the elevator door open for a long time but didn’t dare speak, fearing to disturb his call, just continuously waving to him with his other arm.

Kenneth saw her, gestured slightly, then turned slightly while holding the phone and continued speaking to his mom, ”So when are you guys coming to Capital City? Do you have an address for me? I can pick you up.”

”No need, we’ve booked flights for tomorrow. We’ll arrive at Capital City airport tomorrow night. Your sister and brother-in-law aren’t in Capital City yet either; they said your brother-in-law’s company is having an annual meeting the day after tomorrow, so they’ll come after that. But they’ve already arranged someone to pick us up from the airport, so you don’t need to worry.”

”And what about the house Sister bought in Capital City?” Kenneth’s voice turned a bit colder.

His mom gave the address, and sure enough, it was in the same neighborhood where Lawrence lived.

The moving truck from earlier must be it, right?

They just moved in today and are bringing his parents to Capital City tomorrow...

Kenneth was at a loss for words about how he felt.

The reason they gave was perfectly reasonable—they didn’t want his money, nor his help. What grounds or stance did he have to oppose?

Could he really refuse to let his parents live in a large apartment in Capital City and force them back?

Plus, his parents were both retired now and clearly had no fallback if they went back.

He had been thinking that in a few years, once his relationship with Lawrence was stable, he’d buy a duplex villa in the suburbs of Capital City when they were ready to marry, to bring his parents over.

Everyone could live a bit closer, but there was no need to live together.

But now, they’re all living in the same neighborhood.

What is the plan here?

Is it really just a coincidence?

He found it hard to believe that Cameron Spencer, when buying a house in Capital City, didn’t know that Lawrence Winters’s family lived in that neighborhood, or that Cameron didn’t know he lived at Lawrence’s house.

Someone of Cameron Spencer’s standing doesn’t act on whims.

So why did he intentionally buy a house for Brooke Osborne in the same neighborhood as Lawrence Winters’s?

Kenneth grew even more wary of Cameron Spencer.

He squinted his eyes, pondered for a moment, and slowly said, ”...And then? Will you be in Capital City to help Sister with the kids, and will her husband be staying in Capital City too?”

His mom laughed, ”Of course! Otherwise, why would he bring us to Capital City to help him look after the kids?”

”Really?” Kenneth sneered, ”Brother-in-law is the big boss of Spencer Group, with headquarters in South Region Z City. How could he possibly leave the company behind, move Sister and the kids to Capital City, and have you two elderly come to Capital City to help with the kids? I feel like something about that doesn’t sit right.”

Ha, Cameron Spencer thinks he can pull these little stunts quietly?

When it comes to knowing his own parents, no one in this world knows them second after Kenneth Osborne.

As expected, the moment Kenneth sowed a seed of doubt, his mom got suspicious and hesitated, ”You might be right. What could he mean by this?”

”I wouldn’t dare guess either. Maybe he’s sending Sister and the kids to Capital City and returning to the South alone? After all, as a businessman, he can’t leave the company alone for too long,” Kenneth feigned a confused look, his tone still uncertain.

His mom immediately became anxious, ”So that’s his intention?! No way! Absolutely not! Your brother-in-law is already known for having many mistresses, we can’t let him just dump our Brooke in Capital City and not care!”

Kenneth smiled and seized the moment, ”I was thinking the same. Mom, how about this: I’ll give you guys the address in Z City, and you fly directly to Z City to spend New Year with them, and stay in Z City to help Sister with the kids afterward. This prevents brother-in-law from using this chance to discard Sister and the kids as burdens. Besides, Sister is so kind, anyone could take advantage of her, and it’s up to you parents to support her.”

”The Spencer Family’s situation is extremely complicated, and everyone in the country knows about brother-in-law’s mistresses. Their kids are all grown, while Sister’s child is just a few months old. I’m afraid Sister can’t compete against the boss’s mistresses and his illegitimate daughters.”

Kenneth’s dramatic insinuations quickly took effect.

”That won’t do! He wishes! Although Cameron Spencer is a big boss, I asked your sister, and they have legitimate marriage certificates! We can’t let those old mistresses of Cameron Spencer bully her!” His mom was immediately furious, ”Good thing you reminded me! I’ll go change our flight tickets now!”
