Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 401: Chapter 216: Don’t Let Her Find Out (Third Update)

Lawrence Winters was indeed quite shocked, ”Them again?! What kind of grudge is this?!”

”If I remember correctly, the NeoHuman Entertainment Company under the Spencer Group was founded by the daughter of their boss, Summer Spencer, right?”

Edward Foster nodded, ”You’re not mistaken, it’s that woman.”

”What’s the company’s stance?” Lawrence wrinkled his brow, ”Does the Foster Consortium have a grudge against the Spencer Group?”

”It’s either you mess with them, or they mess with you.”

Edward stood up, walked to the other side of the office, and started making coffee with the machine, saying as he did so, ”The company’s stance is, of course, to go all the way.”

He chuckled, placed the finished cappuccino on a tray, added a few scones, and brought them over to Lawrence, saying, ”Have some, these scones go well with coffee.”

Lawrence said, ”I don’t want coffee, but the scones are fine.”

She just took a scone, took a gentle bite, and continued looking at Edward, waiting for him to explain, ”Why go all the way?”

Edward took the cappuccino himself, had a sip, and said, ”Let me put it this way, we go against the Spencer Group; they can only endure it. As for Summer Spencer going against us, she must have either not checked the calendar or not consulted her father.”

Lawrence was somewhat understanding, ”So it’s like, it’s okay whatever we do to offend the Spencer Group, right? Aren’t you afraid of provoking them?”

”No worries, not afraid. I want to see when that old fellow Cameron Spencer will really get annoyed!” Edward laughed heartily, ”You probably haven’t seen someone who can endure so much! Can endure like a turtle, no matter the cost! Hahaha!”

Lawrence listened to Edward’s tone, and it seemed like his grudge with Cameron Spencer was not only business-related but also personal.

If it involved the boss’s privacy, it wouldn’t be appropriate for her to ask more.

Lawrence nodded in understanding, saying, ”That’s good. I’m just worried that if I don’t understand the feud between the company and the Spencer Group, it might cause trouble for the company.”

”No worries! You have me! Go ahead and cause trouble!” Edward almost patted his chest to guarantee.

Lawrence covered her mouth with a smile, ”I haven’t finished speaking yet.”

”Hmm, continue.” Edward sat back in his seat.

Lawrence started on the second method, ”The downside of the second method is that it requires a long period and high investment, and it doesn’t guarantee attracting the general public, there’s a risk whether it can really become big. But...”

She paused, thoughtfully said, ”If we rise up like this, it’s truly rising, without relying on numerous fans, completely letting the work speak for itself, relying on the most stable general public.”

”As long as Ah Che doesn’t sabotage himself, the second way can give him real peace of mind.”

Lawrence made up her mind, ”I’m his agent, I choose the second option.”

Edward was genuinely stunned, his mouth open for quite a while before he closed it, then asked her, ”...Why choose the obviously harder second option?”

”And you also said that the second option may not necessarily lead to success.”

Lawrence embarrassedly smiled a little, ”Just consider it my little selfish thought. Ah Che is like a cloud-cruising recluse, making him cater to fans and getting trapped by fan culture, I truly can’t bear it. The second option suits him better, a steady ascent without being bound by fan culture.”

She had been through fan culture, knowing how foul some of the operations can be inside.

Truly liking a star, it’s better to keep him away from the fan culture.

Fans are not equivalent to fan culture, they’re two different things.

Edward felt a tinge of jealousy, muttering, ”It’s easy for you to say, choosing the second option out of concern for him, but what about me, I have to dish out real money, helping you chase stars, what’s in it for me?”

Lawrence: ”???”

”Little Edward, what are you talking about?”

Edward’s voice wasn’t loud, and he muttered in a Southern dialect, so Lawrence didn’t really understand.

Edward raised his head, looking troubled, ”Clearly there is a simpler, easier, and more cost-effective first method, why not choose it? You don’t really need to shy away from the fan culture.”

”For us, getting popular first matters more, and dealing with fan culture issues can wait until later.”

But Lawrence refused to compromise, vigorously shaking her head, ”No way. I’m pushing Ah Che to become a top star, I have to be responsible for his future, can’t push him into the fire pit.” ”With popularity comes scrutiny, as you said.” Edward couldn’t help echoing her previous words, ”Who would want to malign someone who’s not popular? No one would even care.”
