Warhammer Divine Throne

Therefore, the relationship between the Montfort Duchy and the Breezewind Dwarves has never been good, and the same goes for the Paragon Duchy. When Casvan was at war with the Empire, these Breezewind Dwarves also chose to help the Empire.

Things became complicated, with both sides clearly in an adversarial relationship, yet neither dared to rashly engage in battle.

Sitting in the carriage, Dugen the Ironman, the Dwarf Engineer, stroked his long beard: ”I can bet that Belgar definitely failed, and then came to Breezewind for assistance, lying low for a while. I can guess he approached me, first asking me to lead our clan to join him, and then requesting my help to restore Eight Peaks Mountain.”

The time is summer, the sun is strong. Sven Novigrad placed his winged helmet aside. He donned enchanted secret silver plate armor, and sweat formed on his forehead. Since arriving at Laine’s territory, he and his clan finally had a home. A team of Novigrad Broken Iron Warriors and a team of Novigrad Thunderbolt Gunners joined Laine’s forces. He clearly displayed no interest in reclaiming Eight Peaks Mountain: ”So Dugen, are you going to agree to him?”

”Who?” Dugen, wearing chain armor, had a blue turban on his head, and carried long-barreled fire cannon, shotgun fire cannon, a hammer, a toolbox, a saw, and many other items on his back. He was organizing his ammo box.

”Belgar Iron Hammer!” Sven Novigrad, being a chief, was not knowledgeable in technology. On careful thought, it’s quite amusing that Laine has employed three dwarf leaders, each being a chief, a rune artisan, and a master of engineering.

”Oh! Certainly not!” Dugen shook his head: ”No, I’ve barely got a new home. My thought is that if Belgar can gather enough troops and clansmen, then perhaps I’ll reconsider. The current situation is he’s come with his personal guard and a team of Rangers. Can this reclaim Eight Peaks Mountain? Glarni wouldn’t believe it.”

”Hmm...” Chief Sven nodded: ”The Count has treated us well, building our community. Our clansmen no longer need to starve; having enough food and clothing is assured. I have five hundred people on my side, how many do you have on your side?”

”I have over three hundred people here. I think those willing to follow Belgar on an expedition to Eight Peaks Mountain are very few.”

Along the mountain path, the speed of the carriage gradually slowed. Dugen and Sven were very patient, chatting leisurely all along the way. Thus, they traveled nearly a whole day along the mountain path, arriving at Breezewind Castle.

At this time, Belgar was inspecting his clan’s campsite.

Currently, following Belgar are several hundred Angland Clan Oath Guards composed of Broken Iron Warriors and Iron Hammer Warriors, a Ranger team of a hundred or so, a miner team of over a hundred, and a small number of non-combat female dwarves and juvenile dwarves.

The King of Eight Peaks brought his Chief Engineer Harharaver and Oath Guard Captain Torrek into the arranged building.

The dwarves of the Angland Clan were dressed in rags, beards unkempt, and faces pale. They sat in groups of three or five, boiling water and eating bread. Many dwarves were injured, only simply bandaged, and many wounds still seeped blood and pus.

Rorrek sent people to deliver food and water, but medicine was a rarity for the dwarves, clearly unable to meet the needs of the Angland Clan.

The atmosphere in the hall was very oppressive. Most dwarves silently ate without speaking. Some discussed things in low voices, but upon seeing Belgar arrive, they fell silent, bowing their heads.

Seeing this scene, Belgar felt his heart ache like a knife. He opened his mouth, but beyond these few comforting words, he was speechless.

”Young lads, well done, you’ve not disgraced the dwarves.”

”I have witnessed your courage on this journey.”

”It’s okay, it’s okay.”

”Isn’t it okay? My compatriots, are you okay?”

Most surrounding dwarves responded: ”It’s okay, my King, this is what we should do.”

Even so, their despair was apparent to Belgar, the King of Eight Peaks pursed his lips, closed his eyes, and said nothing.

Queen Komanik comforted the dwarves one by one, then returned to Belgar and said: ”Belgar, we need more food. Only bread is not nutritious. We need fresh vegetables and meat, malt beer, and medicine. Otherwise, many injured warriors will be severely weakened even if they recover, and the children won’t grow up.”

Upon hearing this, Belgar’s face turned blue. He pulled his wife to a corner: ”But how can I bring this up? Rorrek has aided us, already providing us with shelter and food. How can I shamelessly ask for more malt beer and vegetables and meat? Rorrek and his kingdom have shown us great kindness. We cannot continue shamelessly, as the dwarves of Breezewind also need to eat!”

”You cannot let our clansmen suffer because of your pride!” Komanik said angrily.

”Give me some time, Komanik, let me think what to do.” Belgar felt a splitting headache: ”I still have some money; can we go nearby to trade with humans?”

At this moment, a loud voice came from the entrance of the hall, filled with unmistakable delight: ”My King, I heard you need help?”

Hoofbeats and the sound of cart wheels appeared at the hall door, the door opened wide, and the flickering firelight indicated guests had arrived.
