Warhammer Divine Throne

Despite Laine having leisure time to converse with Egil, the cannon fire from his formation never ceased. The roar of four cannons brought massive casualties to the barbarians with each bursting shell.

A large group of knights appeared on the plains, witnessing the tragic state of Leonais, a fury exploded in their hearts.

For knights, the greatest honor is to protect their homeland and country. Now, Leonais Castle has been conquered, vast villages have become ruins, knights cannot forgive the barbarian’s atrocities, their sins can only be repaid with their blood.

Egil also recognized the power of the artillery; the barbarians cannot sit idly by, or else a round of volley would cost them one to two hundred barbarian warriors. Egil clearly understands the might of the dwarf cannons.

The barbarian army of Skalings is still slowly gathering. Caught in this surprise attack, the barbarians are unprepared for war; many barbarian warriors had just awakened from their dreams, suffering heavy losses under the dwarf’s cannon blasts before they were ready.

The knights were eager to move, but Laine raised the Warhammer, signaling them to hold their peace.

Although the barbarians were not ready for war, it doesn’t mean a blitz will succeed, because the ones caught off guard are ordinary barbarian warriors and fighters. Those Chaos Warriors and Chaos Chosen are already surrounding Egil. At this moment, if they charge into these heavy-armored warriors’ formation, they will suffer a strong counterattack from the barbarians.

The good news is, Laine did not see the Chaos Hell Cannon; was it destroyed during the siege?

Given the barbarians are not ready, the cannons of the knight army will show no mercy to these Chaos Cultists. The dwarf’s artillery continually roars, inflicting fierce damage upon the enemy. By the time Egil finally gathered the massive barbarian army, they had already lost close to a thousand men.

Egil began to observe Laine’s army formation.

Laine’s left wing is composed of over two thousand knights and more than three thousand knight’s squires, without any infantry. Leading the left wing is the former Duke Hubert from Kakasong, commanding a large group of Kingdom Knights, Ranger Knights, and a few Expedition Knights. His face was cold, awaiting Laine’s command.

The right wing consists of a few Sea God Knights and over two thousand Ranger Knights and more than three thousand knight’s squires, also without any infantry. Leading the right wing is the deputy head of the Sea God Knight Order, Sir Houlf.

The central army behind Laine only has a little over a hundred knights; the rest are all infantry. The dwarf cannons are located behind the central army, and those damn dwarfs have found a good position, firing continuously, roughly every five minutes.

Brittania’s infantry? Egil wondered, why is Laine’s central army all infantry? Can these infantry stop me?

”Advance the entire army! Directly seize the central army!” Egil commanded a large heavy-armored unit: ”Forward!”

”Forward!” The barbarian army completed their assembly, compelled by artillery suppression, the barbarians must take the initiative to attack!

A great number of heavily armored barbarian troops charged towards the knight army’s central army. Peasant archers began shooting arrows, but those weak arrows could hardly harm any Chaos Warriors and Chaos Chosen Warriors. These Chaos Cultists are completely encased in heavy armor, while Brittania’s arrows can injure those Barbarian Raiders, they are doomed unable to harm these black armored warriors.

The Bastogne Longbow Battalion played their role, these longbowmen attacked the barbarian warriors with indirect fire, still causing considerable damage.

”Hold steady!” Laine rode ahead to stand at the forefront; as the black tide in the dwarf artillery fire charged towards the knight army, Laine signaled everyone to hold steady!

The first line of infantry is almost entirely composed of knight’s squires and sergeants; most hold sword and shield, behind them are large numbers of infantry holding long halberds, led by Laine himself with over a hundred knights standing at the back.

”Hmph! He wants us to directly strike his central army and then let the knights on the flanks encircle and annihilate us.” Egil immediately saw through Laine’s tactical intention.

Laine’s plan is simple. Obviously, he holds the artillery advantage, while the barbarian army’s artillery has long been destroyed during the previous siege.

Thus Egil and his army must attack Laine’s central army; otherwise, they will always remain the target of artillery strikes. This is unacceptable for the barbarian army.

After attacking the central army, as a large number of barbarian troops congest in the middle, once the knights on both flanks encircle and flank, the barbarians will inevitably fall into a disadvantage. Although Chaos Warriors are skilled in battle, no army can withstand long-term multi-front combat.

Egil suddenly realized that he and his barbarian army seemed to have already fallen into a disadvantage in the battle.

”Kowendeve!” Egil suddenly shouted angrily.

”Present!” The Chaos Champion walked up from behind.

”Take your men, go to hold back the knight army on the left wing!”

”Yes!” Kowendeve took his men and left.

”Hardorn!”

”Present!”

”Go attack the Brittania people’s right wing, make sure to hold the knights on the right wing!”

”Yes!”

A black tide was approaching, and at this moment, suddenly a cavalry force emerged from behind the barbarian army.

This cavalry unit was entirely made up of lightly armored barbarian warriors, riding Norsca warhorses, holding javelins in their hands, carrying a bundle of javelins on their backs. They flashed out from the rear, and then instantly launched a dense rain of javelins towards the left-wing knight unit.
