Warhammer Divine Throne

The warriors of other Dwarf Kingdoms were enlisted by Belgar through speeches and heavy bribes, even with verbal promises of sharing the wealth after reclaiming the Eight Peaks Mountain.

Now that none of this is available, how can they endure?

After a few more days of fighting, Belgar began to feel the heavy pressure; the cannonballs and crossbow arrows of the Dwarf Rangers, as well as the Musketeers’ bullets, were running low. The goblin harassment was relentless, and the defensive fortifications painstakingly built were destroyed by goblin gliders and catapult attacks.

The morale of the dwarves began to waver, and under such circumstances, Belgar was forced to agree to leave the fortifications and engage in open battle with Scasnik and its Evil Moon Tribe.

This played right into Scasnik’s hands. The goblin warlord finally got the outcome it wanted. Under its command, tens of thousands of Green-skinned troops surrounded the Dwarf Expeditionary Army that ventured out for battle from all directions.

After days of fierce fighting, short on ammunition and low in morale, the Dwarf Expeditionary Army was overwhelmed by the green tide. Although the dwarves were adept at resisting and fought bravely, they couldn’t withstand the fierce assault of the Green Skins, suffered a great defeat, and were forced to abandon the defenses at the foot of the mountain and retreat toward the gates.

However, the dwarves’ speed was too slow, and they were soon caught up by the Green-skinned Army.

To cover the retreat of the Expeditionary Army, a portion of the Dwarf Army launched a desperate counter-charge towards the Green-skinned Army.

”My King, we will cover you! You must escape!” A squad of Iron Hammer Warriors from the Angland Clan launched wave after wave of charges against the Green Skin Tribe, trying to delay their advance.

Belgar saw his expeditionary army collapsing, and his heart ached like a knife cut. He had no choice but to flee desperately. Raising his head, the King of Angland saw a large group of Dark Night Goblin Fanatics blocking the retreat route of the Dwarf Expeditionary Army.

On the left, there were hundreds of Orc Boys and Goblin Squig Riders.

On the right, there were hundreds and thousands of Goblin Wolf Riders.

Behind him, at least twenty thousand Goblin Boys and a large group of Orcs were there. Scasnik even deployed its two personal guards, the ”Eight Peaks Mountain War Generals” and ”Eight Peaks Mountain Madmen,” onto the battlefield.

”We are surrounded!” a dwarf cried out in agony: ”Glarni! Please grant strength to your descendants!”

”We can’t escape anymore!”

”Fight! To the last man!”

The Dwarf Expeditionary Army was deeply shaken, as the green tides from all sides gradually devoured and submerged their forces.

Belgar, under the cover of his Personal Guard, fled in panic. The King of Angland couldn’t help but weep bitterly. He had made very detailed preparations for this expedition, yet still failed so easily. The strength of the clan had already dwindled significantly, and at this rate, who knows how many more years and months it would take to reclaim the Eight Peaks Mountain?

Thinking about this, Belgar’s tears wouldn’t stop flowing. He saw many Dwarf Warriors using their own flesh and blood to block the Green-skinned Army. The Iron Hammer Warriors were launching wave after wave of desperate charges to cover the retreat of their compatriots. The Thunderbolt Gunners and Dwarf Rangers were forced into close combat and were slaughtered by the Green Skins. The Cannon Team, to prevent the Green Skins from obtaining the dwarves’ siege weapons, blew up the powder barrels, perishing alongside countless Green Skins.

On a nearby high platform, Scasnik was commanding the battle. Its sharp eyes quickly spotted Belgar’s figure, and this cunning goblin warlord immediately shouted: ”The one in the blue cloak! With the red hammer pattern, that shorty is Belgar!”

Upon hearing this, Belgar felt a chill in his heart. He knew very well what awaited him if captured by Scasnik. All dwarves captured by the Green Skins would have their beards and hair shaved off and a Green Skin tattoo branded on their foreheads, which was worse than death for dwarves. Dwarves subjected to this would become mentally unstable and never recover.

The King of the Angland Clan hurriedly threw his cloak to the ground and led his Personal Guard in continued flight.

”Ahhh!” Scasnik saw the Green Skins scrambling madly for the cloak, allowing Belgar to escape, and shouted angrily: ”The one with the long beard is Belgar!!!”

The Green Skins heard Scasnik’s order, abandoned the cloak, and began searching the chaotic battlefield for the dwarf with the long beard.

Upon hearing this, Belgar quickly drew his dagger and cut a portion of his beard to an average dwarf length; the King of the Angland Clan could care less now.

Cutting his beard was undoubtedly a stain of shame, but survival was most important! Otherwise, the mission to reclaim the Eight Peaks Mountain would never be accomplished!

The target was lost again, and the Green Skins couldn’t find a dwarf with an exceptionally long beard, resuming their individual squabbles.

”Ahhh! Idiots!” Scasnik jumped up and down in anger: ”The one with medium-length beard is Belgar!”

”???” The Green Skins looked puzzled, their actions halted mid-motion.

The battlefield was full of dwarves with medium-length beards.

The Green Skins’ assault ceased instantly, as none of the Green Skins understood what their boss meant. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Belgar led two thousand remnant troops out of the encirclement, fleeing toward the gates of the Eight Peaks Mountain.

”Fools! Fools!” Scasnik, planning to lead his troops in pursuit, suddenly saw a mine tunnel collapse halfway up the mountain.

”Boom!”

Everyone was stunned by this unexpected event.

Swarms of Ratmen armies poured out from the large hole like a tsunami, tearing the Green-skinned Army into two sections on the spot. The Evil Moon Clan was caught off-guard and utterly defeated by the Ratmen.

In the dim green mine tunnel, a red Ratman warlord was chattering incessantly.

”yesyes! Bearded thing, already die, die! Little, little Green Skins, will be torn, torn apart by our Great, Great, Great Demon Rat Empire, yesyes! Attack!”

Thousands of Ratmen armies joined the battlefield, attacking the Green-skinned Army from the flanks, catching the Evil Moon Clan off guard and causing heavy casualties.

”No, no good! Boss! It’s the Rat, Ratmen!” The Goblin Shaman shouted to Scasnik: ”The Rat, Ratmen are ambushing us!”

”Quik! It’s Quik! Command them to stop chasing the shorties! Get back here and fight the rats!” Scasnik was furious and shouted, ”Deal with the rats first!”

”Yes!”

By this time, Belgar gathered the remaining three thousand plus remnants of the Expeditionary Army and had already fled a short distance. In the distance, the Evil Moon Clan and Ratmen army were engaged in a fierce battle.

”My King! It’s the Ratmen, they’ve ambushed the Evil Moon Clan! The Green Skins have no time to bother with us temporarily!” A Broken Iron Warrior shouted to Belgar, ”Take this opportunity and retreat quickly!”

”Retreat! Retreat!”
