Warhammer Divine Throne

But this doesn’t mean the end of everything.

Laine’s body suddenly exploded into countless fragments of light and shadow, and all of him seemed to disappear in reality, Egil’s slash just cleaving through a cold piece of air.

This was the first time Egil witnessed such a strange situation. Before he could react, a longsword engulfed in white flames and emitting a pale blue glow pierced through his chest from behind.

”Die, Chaos Scraps!” Laine’s cold voice rang out from behind Egil, as the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy unleashed all his power, withdrawing the long blade of the Revenge Goddess Sword from Egil’s body, and delivering another strike to the shoulder of the Champion of Khorne.

The blade of the Revenge Goddess Sword tore a massive gash into Egil’s shoulder, exposing stark-white bones and flesh to the open air.

”Hmm, an impressive attack indeed, is this a blinding technique?” Egil chuckled, ”Now it’s my turn.”

With those words, Egil turned, and the King of Skalings unleashed a punch as powerful as a cannonball, landing directly on Laine.

Laine was blasted into the sky by this punch, flying well over twenty meters before crashing down to the ground in disarray. His organs churned, and his chest was filled with excruciating pain. Relying solely on his formidable will, he managed to stand, the armor on his chest caving in.

Just like Jules, Laine made the same mistake, gazing at Egil’s form, assuming that with such severe injuries, with his heart pierced, Egil couldn’t survive.

He was wrong. Under the shocked gazes of everyone, the wounds on Egil’s body rapidly healed once again with Khorne’s blessing. The powerful force of the Revenge Goddess took more time for Egil to recover, but undoubtedly, he did recover.

Laine suddenly broke out in a sweat.

Doesn’t such an attack work either?

How can I defeat this formidable enemy?

”Oh my god! Does this kind of attack not work either?” Teresa exclaimed, who was watching the showdown between Laine and Egil. Any mortal receiving such grave injuries would perish on the spot.

”No, it doesn’t work.” Kaled’s eyes were bloodshot as he watched Egil’s wounds heal one after another, his voice filled with deep sorrow: ”The damage Jules inflicted on this demon was enough to kill him dozens of times, yet this demon always managed to heal and continue attacking, eventually leading to Jules’ downfall.”

”What kind of enemy is this?” Holy Grail Knight Armand said sternly.

”Laine won’t lose, he absolutely won’t lose.” Surya directed the army to encircle the remaining Barbarian forces, her confidence in Laine unwavering. The female knight continued to issue orders: ”Keep attacking!”

”Yes!” The Knight Army continued to launch an assault on the final Barbarian forces by the coast.

The champion duel soon resumed, with Laine clashing with Egil once more. Though he cut Egil repeatedly with the Revenge Goddess, Egil always managed to recover to his former state. Laine found himself in a bitter struggle: ”Damn it! What kind of overwhelming power is this? How can I defeat him?”

”My champion~” At this time, the serene voice of the Lake Fairy echoed in Laine’s mind: ”Ordinary attacks cannot defeat Egil, that’s how Jules was defeated.”

”My Lady, how can I defeat the formidable enemy before me? I have tried every way.” Laine gasped for air, his body already worn from the previous battles, and his warhammer shattered by Egil.

”You must find a way to decapitate Egil, it’s the only way to kill him... Sorry, my champion, I already used my power to help Jules back then, and I can’t help you much right now.” The Lake Fairy continued to urge Laine: ”Defeat Egil, Laine, he’s trespassing on my land, utterly annihilate this fiend!”

”Decapitate...” Laine squinted his eyes.

The flames of the Revenge Goddess burned fiercely.

”What’s the matter, lowly Southern Man, are you scared? You can beg for forgiveness, beg for my mercy, and I will twist your head off your shoulders!” Egil detected Laine’s wavering, remaining strong and terrifying as he approached Laine with the Hell Battleaxe, like a doomsday volcano about to erupt.

A foe so formidable, enough to drive any opponent to despair.

But that’s Chaos.

”For the Lady!” Laine unleashed all his power once again, engaging with Egil in a fierce battle resembling the legendary wars of deities, tearing the surrounding land apart. What was initially a rocky coastal terrain was now a deep crater; a chain of explosions, flames, and lightning wrought destruction, the battle between the two still raging on.

Another clash concluded with Laine forced to retreat, sustaining injuries in two places, while Egil bore five wounds.

”You’re more capable than Jules, your head is more valuable.” Amidst the pause in battle, Egil’s five wounds miraculously healed once more. He continued to cross paths with the Hell Battleaxe and the Revenge Goddess, sparks flying, sensing Laine’s powerful strength.

Very strong.

The knight ahead is truly formidable, indeed a more valuable prey.

And in Laine’s heart, deeper thoughts brewed.

His strength insufficient to execute a decapitation of Egil, perhaps Angerong could gather enough force in such an intense battle to decapitate Egil, but Laine couldn’t. Whenever he attempted to decapitate Egil, the Champion of Khorne would decisively interrupt his attacking moves with furious attacks, forcing him into a prolonged close combat.
