Warhammer Divine Throne

Now it was the Skalings’ turn to feel the hurricane-like charge of the Brittania Knights, as the Knight Army crashed into the Skalings’ forces from three directions, instantly killing thousands of Barbarian Warriors and Chaos Warriors, while the remaining ones were at an absolute disadvantage.

The entire battlefield had now become a massive slaughterhouse, with the Barbarian Army desperately resisting the Knights’ siege from three directions. In turn, the Knights and Knight’s Squires who charged into the Barbarian Army found themselves mired in a quagmire, as Chaos Warriors and Chaos Chosen Warriors wielded axes and long halberds searching for opponents. Their superhuman strength was enough to immediately kill Knights who lost their momentum, as Knights discarded their broken cavalry lances and drew Knight’s Swords, engaging barbarians in a terrifying close-quarters battle.

The only consensus between both sides was to take no prisoners.

The frenzy of the battle continued, with the Barbarian Army besieged from three sides yet still persisting under Egil’s leadership, refusing to collapse. Knights, having lost their powerful impact, were forced into melee. These barbarians gave no chance to the Knights to withdraw and regroup; one moment a Knight was dragged from his horse and brutally slaughtered, the next a Chaos Warrior was decapitated, his corpse left on the field.

The fierce violent combat continued, with tactics irrelevant as both sides rapidly committed all their forces. Armor-clad Knights swore not to retreat until all barbarians were slain, while Egil realized a horrifying truth.

His army’s numbers were rapidly diminishing; the nearly twenty thousand strong Barbarian Army at the start of the battle was now reduced to fewer than five thousand, with losses mounting quickly under the Knight’s assault.

”What are those Chiefs of the small tribes doing! Why haven’t they joined the battle?” Egil shouted angrily to his Personal Guard, as the Crimson Guard still protected him and his newborn son. When the Pseudo-God’s Chosen Champion turned his head, he witnessed an incredulous scene.

Dozens of Chiefs from the small tribes were fleeing, rapidly withdrawing around two thousand Barbarian deserters from the battlefield, heading north without looking back.

”Ahhhhh!” Egil let out a furious roar, performing a Tornado Slash that consecutively slaughtered over twenty Knights and dozens of Peasant Infantry: ”I swear, when I return to Skalings, I’ll kill them all!”

The sound of a desperate scream caught Egil’s attention.

The banner staff of the Holy Grail Knight Armand pierced Chaos Champion Hardorn’s chest, followed by the golden Griffin Warhammer smashing his head to bits.

A young figure entered Egil’s view, with black hair, blue eyes, a longsword on his back, and a cold expression on his face.

It was the Lake Pseudo-God’s Divine Chosen Champion! Egil kept his eyes fixed on Laine’s figure, having found his prey.

At the same time, as if driven by some unseen force, Laine’s gaze naturally found Egil’s figure.

Now, the bloody battlefield vanished from the sight of the two Divine Chosen Champions as Laine killed a Chaos Chosen Warrior with a single hammer blow, riding towards Egil: ”You shall pay the price for your atrocities, Chaos scum!”

”Your head would be fitting to adorn my armor and Khorne’s throne; I will place your head just a little higher than Jules’,” Egil no longer cared about the war’s outcome; his eyes were focused solely on Laine’s head.

This was the desire of Khorne, and as Khorne’s Divine Chosen Champion, he naturally aimed to fulfill Khorne’s wishes.

The duel between the Divine Chosen Champions was destined.

”Let’s settle this in a final battle!”
