Warhammer Divine Throne

On the plain, armies clashed, and amidst the chaos, champions met.

Laine held the hammer with both hands, taking a deep breath as he silently watched Egil Steelbjorn, clad in blood-red plate armor, like the Blood God’s descent upon the world, observing his tall and invincible figure, the spikes on the armor and the iron rings hung with skulls, among which was the head of Jules.

The Lake Fairy’s divine chosen champion knew he must not be careless, or he would end up like those defeated.

And Egil was likewise scrutinizing Laine.

This young man stood about 1.85 meters tall, noticeably shorter than his own 2.4 meters. He wielded a golden Griffin Warhammer and wore an exquisite suit of plate armor, with the emblem of the Holy Grail Knight Commander on his chest.

The chosen champion of the Lake Pseudo-God? Just a warrior at the legendary peak, his aura unstable, indicating he was on the verge of breaking through, Egil thought.

On the surface, Laine’s strength even seemed inferior to Jules, but Egil was never a fool. He knew the Lake Fairy would not make such a young man her divine chosen champion without reason, with all the heroic deeds Laine had accomplished over the years, this young man surely had his own extraordinary qualities.

The encounter of the two divine chosen champions made the armies automatically give way, whether barbarian or Brittania people, they all valued champion duels greatly, and when champions met, the armies would automatically give them space for a duel.

”One after another, one after another, Brittania, do you know how many mortals I’ve annihilated? How many powerful foes I’ve defeated? I beheaded the Dragon Demon, gutted the Sea Monster, countless Chaos Champions died at my hands, and your proud Knight Commander has become my collection.” Egil’s face was cold, even as the barbarians behind him were in full retreat.

”One after another, one after another, Skaling, do you know how much evil I’ve eradicated? Chaos Champion Bireg, Champion of Khorne Life Taker, Great Nurgle Demon, now you’re just another Khorne chosen champion.” Laine’s face bore a faint mocking smile: ”By the way, what about your handicapped master? Is his ass glued to his toilet?”

”Ah!” Egil felt a surge of anger just from Laine’s few words. He was the chosen champion of Khorne, he could not tolerate Laine’s mockery of his faith. Glory to Khorne!

The chosen champion of Khorne was not particularly good at talking, so he decided to cut the chatter short.

Egil raised the Hell Battleaxe, pointing it straight at Laine’s face, and Laine knew that in terms of words, he could only gain a slight advantage, everything had to be decided on the battlefield.

”Hoo~” A wind filled with a strong metallic blood scent blew past Laine, and also through Egil’s body. The chosen champion of Khorne knew his army was going to be defeated here, but he would not fail.

He would take Laine’s head, then slash his way out from the midst of thousands, returning by ship with his son to the Skalings.

Now, Laine and Egil faced each other directly, both the most glorious warriors of their respective nations, favored by their respective deities, they were both the pride of their races, and their stories would enliven songs of the Northern Barbarians and Brittania ballads for centuries.

This was true immortality, and their stories would persist long in this world after they departed, until the end of time. The duel of the two chosen champions would become an eternal epic, and evidently, only one of them could survive.

Egil initiated a ferocious assault on Laine, his Hell Battleaxe in hand slicing through the sound barrier with a whirlwind-like motion, tearing through space with a fierce gale aimed directly at Laine’s head.

Laine stepped back slightly, dodging Egil’s attack.

With the other hand, Gam the Hell Battleaxe continued its fierce assault on Laine’s chest.

Laine retreated again, again dodging Egil’s attack.

Next, it seemed Laine was already prepared, for as Egil’s axe blade was yet to descend, he flipped his body to narrowly evade.

Egil’s fierce attack missed once more.

Thereafter, Egil launched a whirlwind-like frenzied attack, but Laine did not engage him directly at all. He was like an eel, seemingly having an extraordinary anticipation for Egil’s attacks, no matter how Egil tried, Laine deftly dodged aside.

”??? Damn Southern, face me!” The chosen champion of Khorne had never faced such a battle, having borne against an Ancient Dragon Demon, battled a Chaos Giant, and withstood Tzeentch’s Wizard’s magic to behead the opponent, but never had he encountered such a foe who only knew how to evade his attacks: ”Face me! Laine Macado! You call yourself a knight?”

”Hmph!” Laine’s lips curled upward, a mocking expression on his face: ”Keep attacking! Cripple, can’t even hit me, you call yourself a Khorne chosen champion? I often practice with Khorne Demon Prince, never seen such a weak chosen champion.”

”Ughhhh!” Egil roared in anger, the Whispering Battleaxe in his hand cut through the air with a series of bloody whirlwinds, a large tree splitting in half, while Laine easily dodged again. He rolled to evade the scorching axe blade, trotted a few steps, and dodged Egil’s attack.

”Boom!” A large stone was shattered to pieces by Egil’s blow, debris flying everywhere, and seizing Laine’s unstable landing, Egil finally managed to land a hit on Laine.
