Warhammer Divine Throne

After the fierce assault of the first day ended, Egil returned to the camp outside the city with a belly full of anger.

The King of Skalings was deeply troubled, which was rare for Egil, but he knew that his son was now in the hands of the Brittania people.

The Chaos Mage Chakoy walked in from outside, comforting his foster father: ”Father, don’t worry, the Brittania people adhere to the knightly path, they won’t easily harm women and children.”

”Alright, let me be alone for a while.” Egil gestured for Chakoy to leave.

Seeing that Egil was in a fit of anger, the Chaos Mage did not attempt to persuade further, and bowed out of the tent.

Egil was deep in thought.

First and foremost, Leonais Castle must be breached; otherwise he would lose his son forever, which he longed for. This is simple, as he had already found a way to conquer Leonais Castle after surveying the waters.

Secondly, he had to ensure the Brittania people wouldn’t become desperate and kill the mother and son.

For Egil, solving problems with his brain was a painful task for the Divine Chosen Champion of Khorne, but after centuries of honing, Egil was no longer the fool who only knew how to hack; his fury was a means of slaughter rather than an end. He controlled his anger, instead of letting it control him.

Still seated on his throne of skulls, Egil continued to ponder how to rescue his son. He came to these thoughts, when a noise suddenly came from the windbreaker flaps at the tent entrance.

”Chakoy, didn’t I say I wanted some peace and quiet?!” Egil said, filled with rage.

”Egil, you block of stone from a pit, leftover scrap iron, repulsive trash!” The Chaos Dwarf Lord Zumala had entered, not the Chaos Mage Chakoy. Zumala stood at only about 1.4 meters tall, his face gray and his eyes blood-red, glaring at Egil, he roared furiously: ”I’m here to demand an explanation from you.”

”Oh? And what ’explanation’ does my ’ally’ want from me?” Egil sneered, taking note of Zumala’s battleaxe.

”This wasn’t part of our agreement, Egil!” Zumala shouted angrily at Egil: ”Do you still remember our original pact?”

”Agreement? Ah, I remember. Why don’t you tell me?” Egil was seething with rage as well, thinking that this Chaos Dwarf was asking to die!

”We originally agreed: I would provide you artillery, and you would provide me slaves and gold.” Zumala was quite enraged, spewing out white smoke with force: ”But we’ve already fought our way to the capital of this Human Realm, where are your promised slaves? When we previously breached coastal towns, you would at least leave some slaves for us, but now you slaughter every human you see, and haven’t protected my artillery!”

”Failure to protect the artillery is your own fault!” Egil shouted impatiently: ”Get out, Zumala! I don’t want to kill you!”

”You’re the one who should get out!” The Chaos Dwarf Lord raised his large axe: ”Enough, you coward, face me!”

”Fine!” The Hell Battleaxe appeared in Egil’s hands: ”Since you wish for death, I’ll grant it to you!”

The two immediately launched into a duel.

The clashing sounds of the sturdy obsidian hell battleaxe against the hell-forged steel infused with Chaos Power roared fiercely inside Egil’s tent, the Barbarians thought something had changed, but soon realized this was a sacred Champion duel.

The Champion duel is the sole rule the Barbarians must heed; both the Crimson Guard and several Chaos Champions abandoned interference, witnessing the duel.

Egil was twice the height of Zumala, unquestionably one of the greatest warriors among the Barbarians, his every attack capable of tearing space, etching bloody slashes. In the frenzy of losing a beloved child, Egil’s movements were even mightier than usual, every strike capable of smashing steel, obliterating all.

Yet the Chaos Dwarf before him was not to be underestimated, Zumala had trained in the Dark Realm for centuries, his short stature contains strength and martial skills even battle-hardened Barbarians admire greatly. He wielded his axe with both hands, firmly resisting the steel crushing like a mountain against the storm, regardless of how violently Egil attacked, Zumala would not fall.

This fierce duel left hardly any breathers for the onlooking crowd, Egil’s axe frantically chopped down at Zumala repeatedly, Zumala forcibly blocked with his battleaxe, the two-handed battleaxe emitted creaking sounds, Egil found himself unable to progress. He targeted Zumala’s weak points with his right-hand battleaxe, yet Zumala barely managed to dodge, on the contrary, the Chaos Dwarf Lord offered Egil a grand gift!

Zumala suddenly drew a hand cannon from behind his back, loaded with malignant ammunition, he forcefully deflected Egil’s strikes, a grim smile appeared on the Chaos Dwarf Lord’s face, he aimed the hand cannon at Egil and fired four shots.

”Bang~ bang~ bang~ bang~” From the hand cannon burst a scatter of pellets, white smoke, and red flames; even Egil was compelled to stagger back by the Chaos Dwarf’s shots, vanishing into the haze.
