Warhammer Divine Throne

The Eight Peaks Mountain, which the Angland Clan has longed for, was now within reach, yet Belgar felt the weight on his shoulders growing heavier.

He was born three hundred years ago in a sanctuary in the Black Mountain Range. As a direct descendant of Ruan, the first King of Angland, the Angland Clan was already in serious decline at that time, having dwindled from a peak of a hundred thousand clansmen to just over thirty thousand. Apart from inheriting the Hammer of Angland, a Divine Artifact from his ancestors, Belgar only inherited an endless legacy of hatred, a book of hatred filled to the brim and a Dwarf Clan nearly crushed by the weight of history and despair over the restoration of Eight Peaks Mountain.

Belgar knew well that if things continued like this, the Angland Clan would inevitably head towards extinction. Dwarves are not a race that can exist as a nomadic tribe; only by reclaiming Eight Peaks Mountain from the green skins can the Angland Clan be revitalized.

About eighty-five years ago, Belgar made his first attempt to reclaim Eight Peaks Mountain.

He lost that battle miserably, with the entire expeditionary army collapsing due to carelessness, and Belgar barely escaped with his life. It was two weeks after his defeat, wandering in the wilderness, that the King of Angland gathered hundreds of routed soldiers and began his return journey.

Afterwards, he spent another thirty years in preparation, personally going to the Eternal Peak to seek assistance from the Dwarf Supreme King, borrowing a mighty army, and nearly reaching the main castle, but ultimately he was again defeated under the tide-like offensive of the green skins.

Because attacking Eight Peaks Mountain is extremely difficult.

Eight Peaks Mountain is located within a bowl-shaped mountain range, surrounded by eight peaks, each with a unique name. The peaks are so lofty that no army on the surface world has the ability to climb over them. That is why it was chosen as the capital of the Angland Clan’s kingdom. The sturdy fortresses and walls once built by Dwarves have become a nightmare that won’t go away, because from the mining towns at the foot of the mountains to the watchtowers at the mid-mountain level, from the majestic Dwarf fortress to the beautiful, majestic, sturdy main castle, Belgar’s army would need to break through over a dozen lines of defense, while inside Eight Peaks Mountain, the green plague like an ocean wouldn’t easily let Belgar and his army succeed.

Most of the city extends deep into the mountains. The vast majority of the city areas are carved out from rock, with lavish and grand plazas and royal halls inside, sprawling Earth Vein Networks, while large groups of Skaven Ratmen lurk in the dark Net Dao.

The second expedition failed, and Belgar once again learned from his mistakes, spending decades refurbishing military supplies, gathering routed cells, and raising funds. He learned virtually every siege method possible, causing any fortress, no matter how elite its garrison, to surrender or collapse under his assault.

Now, the King of Angland proclaimed himself the King of Eight Peaks, leading his army to embark on a third expedition back towards his homeland.

This time, Belgar made the most meticulous preparations.

He did not directly attack the main gate of Eight Peaks Mountain, as Belgar, familiar with the geographical environment of Eight Peaks Mountain, knew that even if his army could breach the main gate, there were still more than a dozen checkpoints waiting for him.

Belgar first led eight thousand expeditionary troops in attacks, continuously eliminating several small green skin tribes near Eight Peaks Mountain.

The Dwarves received good news: the leader of the green-skinned goblins of the Evil Moon Clan, who proclaimed himself the Eight Peaks Mountain War General, Scasnik, had taken his elite troops on an errand and was not within Eight Peaks Mountain.

Seeing this, Belgar immediately set his plans into motion.

First, for each exterminated green skin tribe, Belgar ordered not to annihilate completely, but to leave a few articulate goblins to report back to the garrison forces of Eight Peaks Mountain about the defeat and the appearance of the Dwarf Expeditionary Army.

As the survivors continuously flowed into the gates of Eight Peaks Mountain, reporting the news of defeat, the goblin warlords responsible for guarding Eight Peaks Mountain were outraged on one hand, and extremely afraid on the other. They kept shouting about the bearded enemies arriving, creating a chaotic scene. For several consecutive days, survivors kept arriving at the gates pleading for reinforcements, gradually dampening the morale of those goblins stationed there.

Belgar patiently waited for three days, and the Dwarf Expeditionary Army finally launched an attack.

Siege vehicles, siege towers, siege hammers, tunnels, artillery; with just a patrol around the enemy’s wall, Belgar could easily find the weakest point in the enemy’s defenses. Dwarf Miners dug trenches and tunnels slowly inching closer to the fortress, and then under cover of artillery and detonators, surged into the fortress. Meanwhile, Dwarf Miners used earthworks to create high platforms and protective walls, allowing Thunderbolt Gunners and Rangers to effectively suppress the wall’s firepower. Without Scasnik’s command, the goblins quickly collapsed, and Belgar successfully breached the gates of Eight Peaks Mountain.

Having achieved an initial victory, Belgar did not let the victory get to his head. Fully aware of the difficulty in reclaiming Eight Peaks Mountain, under his command, the Dwarves constructed a plethora of fortifications and advanced step by step, repeatedly defeating the Evil Moon Clan.

After more than half a month, Belgar’s army had already repelled multiple counterattacks from the Evil Moon Clan, continuously breaking through five lines of defense, and established a base at the mining town at the foot of Eight Peaks Mountain, with the target set on the watchtower at mid-mountain level.
