Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 794: Chapter 592 Oberon’s Guidance and Request

Hill looked at the star map and sighed, only hoping that Bane could be caught a few more times.

There was no way around it, even when stars were shattered, not all fragments could become half-planes.

At the very least, they had to carry a part of the basic laws to be able to regenerate a land with all four elements after being wrapped up by the space law.

If lucky, there might even be an ocean.

What Hill wanted was this kind of large half-plane with mountains, waters, and lands.

A gentle voice appeared by his ear, ”Are you looking at the star map? Are you searching for something?”

Hill quickly turned around.

Although he knew that a little fairy had come over, he hadn’t paid much attention and didn’t expect Oberon to suddenly appear before him formally, wearing his signature brown vine cloak, with a face full of melancholy.

”Greetings, esteemed Lord of Beasts.” Although he was curious about what had happened, Hill still smiled and greeted Oberon, who had abandoned those fake wings, ”I have always hoped to own a half-plane.

But as you know, only recently did the opportunity arise.”

Oberon floated above the desk, his dainty magic wand touching the star map, ”Just call me Oberon, Vila likes you very much.

So you are my friend.

Do you plan to follow Bane and Tampas to find the broken stars?

This area certainly has some, Shady Home has been flying in the stellar realm, just recently we noticed Tampas almost got crushed by his hammer.

In the end, it was Bane who pulled a few stars to block Tampas and escaped, it was a huge commotion, even the distant shades in Shady Home were almost hit.

Moreover, this place is quite close to Coron’s Divine Kingdom, so even if you go there, it will be quite safe.”

Hill glanced at the star map, and although he found it strange that Bane was running towards the Avando Dominion of the Elf Deity System, he still thanked Oberon first, ”Thank you very much, when my half-plane is built, I will definitely invite you to visit.”

Oberon suddenly revealed an ethereal smile, ”Ah! No wonder Vila likes you so much, your heart is really pure, I can feel the sincerity in your words.

Very few mages, including magicians, dare to invite fairy spirits to visit a half-plane anymore.

Their first reaction at seeing little fairies is that their half-plane has ready gardeners that don’t require much effort, just plant some flowers.

Although some weak little fairies are indeed willing to rely on mages for a living, what the mages ask for is not just their diligent work, it’s also their fragile spirits.

Once they enter a half-plane, the only way out is through death.

Maybe many little fairies don’t mind not being able to leave, but many mages, once they are about to die, choose to take all the lives in the half-plane with them.

The number of little fairies who die in various disasters is still less than half of these unfortunate souls taken in sacrifice.

So... I am different from other fairy spirits, I am willing to let little fairies live in Avando.”

Hill was somewhat confused by his meaning and tentatively asked, ”Do you mean... you want Vila to go to Coron?”

”Of course not!” Oberon said in shock, ”How could that be! The help Coron brings to little fairies is incomparable to you! The natural aura from your place is too precious for fairy spirits, it’s not much less than the Outer Court of Shady Home.”

Then he finally remembered his intent, ”Don’t use honorifics with me, although you haven’t been officially deified, the feeling you give me is hardly less than that of deities.

I wanted to ask if it’s possible to let the forest sylphs willing to follow me come over here. They usually live in the Outer Court, especially those who are beautiful and independent in nature, they all try to avoid the female nobles of the Inner Court.

Living like this in the forests of the Outer Court all year round isn’t good for their growth, the little fairies exist on joy, and once they lose their smile, they might directly fall to the Court of Sorrow and Rage.

However, I can’t help them much, the female nobles of the Inner Court have never been afraid of me.

But here, to them, it would be a good place, at least it would greatly improve their mood.”

Hill blinked, ”As long as Vila agrees, it’s fine! I haven’t restricted anyone from coming, it seems only the gnomes that Vila dislikes have been refused.”

”Fairy spirits... are insect keepers.” Oberon lowered his head, ”Although they’ve raised many beautiful butterflies, many humans dislike spiders and moths, and we also have quite a few of them.

Although Vila doesn’t mind, she doesn’t know if you would like them.”

Hill hesitated for a few seconds before saying, ”Actually, I indeed don’t really like spiders appearing in my room.”

Oberon’s eyes suddenly dimmed, eliciting pity, and Hill almost got distracted; no wonder the Little Fairy Queen, despite having numerous favorites, couldn’t bring herself to let go of this king’s consort.

”So as long as they don’t appear in the garden and my house, you all can do as you please elsewhere.”

Hill thought for a moment and quickly added another sentence, ”There shouldn’t be any spider webs in the places where humans often appear. I will have the Life Golems pay attention when they clean.”

Oberon’s eyes lit up, and his diminutive figure seemed suddenly invigorated, ”The fairy spiders all live in the jungles. They are very well-behaved.”

After receiving Hill’s approval, Oberon ran off happily, and only then did Hill belatedly realize that the King’s Consort of the Joyous Court was planning to completely separate from the Queen!

Could it be that his few days living in Hill’s Floating Castle had made him see the beauty in life?

Hill held the Star Map that Oberon had touched with his Magic Wand and zoned out for a while. As a deity, his guidance was more than just drawing a circle on a map; that map could now be used for satellite navigation.

Then, Hill touched a few of his Divine Artifacts and checked his Puzzle Lock again, making sure he could defend himself in case the Little Fairy Queen really went mad, before he felt reassured.

Anyway, as long as Coron was still here, that Queen would definitely not come.

She has never risked her life for anyone or anything.

Hill decided to simply leave three days later. That amount of time should suffice for those fairy spirits in the jungle to move their homes, as he was already very familiar with the Little Fairies; generally, they didn’t have many possessions, even if they had lived there for over a thousand years.

He called Vila over, hoping she would close the gate to the Shady Home while he was not in the Floating Castle. In case the Queen made a surprise attack, Hill wasn’t sure whether his Puzzle Lock and various Defensive Magic Arrays could stop her.

Vila agreed briskly, as she had no attachment to that place. Seeing a somewhat surprised Hill, Vila carefreely waved her Lily Flower Wand, ”Hill didn’t notice, did he? My Little Flower Fairies had long left the Shady Home.

Those who haven’t left, in fact, can no longer be called Flower Fairies; they are nothing more than winged Inner Court Singers.”

Vila, usually lighthearted, rarely uttered such harsh words. It seemed her mother’s rejection had a significant impact on her.

Telling herself she didn’t care, only to find out her mother had given up on her and even wanted to convert her followers to sing and dance for her other pets; it was quite a blow for Vila.

Hill pondered for a moment, then turned and opened the cabinet behind him: Having grown agitated from looking at the Star Map, Hill had used some fragments of Strange Objects he had obtained to make some interesting little toys.

Especially those that could float in mid-air once activated, Hill had made quite a few amusement park attractions known to the Undead Tribe, including not just carousels but also rapid river rides and Ferris wheels.

He mainly planned to familiarize himself with the properties of these Strange Object materials, hoping he could replicate and transform some of them, so he could make a set for his friends when he returned to Teraxil.

Hill was genuinely interested in these materials that could float for a long time with just a bit of magic power. He was more accustomed to the properties of pure minerals. As for the attributes that only appeared in Legendary materials when dozens of different materials were mixed together, Hill had little understanding of them.

Many recent events had made him start to miss the days in Teraxil.

To be honest, if every world must have an antagonist deity, Hill was truly thankful that theirs was someone like the Elven God King.

Many say they’d rather have evil enemies than foolish ones. Hill thought those people were either speaking without suffering the consequences, or they simply didn’t care about the deaths of ordinary people.

When the Elven God King plotted against others, his methods were indeed crude and uncomfortable, but at least he didn’t resort to using ordinary people as fodder.

Just look at Toril! The killings manufactured by demons or devils were nowhere near the scale of carnage caused by local evil forces.

Hill showed Vila the various toys he had in hand, then together, they set them up in the castle’s front courtyard.

These exquisitely small toys, resembling dollhouses, were perfect for the Little Flower Fairies. Vila, after playing with them a few times under Hill’s direction, quickly became enchanted. Soon, Little Fairies cropped up everywhere in the sky and on the ground, converging around them.

There was no question of forming a line.

Apart from leaving spots for Vila and Oberon, the Little Fairies began competing to see who could move faster.

That the Little Fairies remembered to save a spot for their own deity impressed Hill with their cleverness.

Of course, it might also be because the Gnomes weren’t there.

With their comparatively large size among the Little Fairies, Gnomes couldn’t play with these toys suitable for the Little Flower Fairies.

So, according to Gnomish logic, if they couldn’t play, they should wreck the place, ensuring no Little Fairy could enjoy themselves.

Despite the Pixies’ fondness for playing pranks, they weren’t as disliked within the Little Fairy community as the Gnomes were.

Moreover, Pixies, at heart, were still kind; if they encountered someone genuinely in a dire, urgent situation, they would let them pass.

The Gnomes, on the other hand, would only intensify their harassment.

Watching the joyously laughing Vila, Hill nodded in satisfaction. Even after he left, a Vila in such high spirits should not encounter any trouble.

To a certain extent, Oberon’s decisiveness was also very strong; he hadn’t even needed three days as his Forest Sylphs had already moved.

As Hill watched Vila lock the gate to the Shady Home, he left in the quiet of the night, feeling at ease.
