Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 790: Chapter 589: The Formidable Gaul Navy Admiral

Hill wasn’t very concerned about the feuds and grudges of Shady Home, after all, the queen, even if furious at Oberon detaching from her sphere of influence, wouldn’t dare extend that resentment to Hill.

She was indeed very powerful, but this strength was limited to the Joyous Court, once she left the throne of the Fairy World, her power was no greater than Valkin’s.

Just like the Void Dark Queen of the Court of Sorrow and Rage, the Divine Artifact she and Rose created together caused more damage than her own abilities.

The Court of Sorrow and Rage was indeed more terrifying, but as long as one didn’t enter her sphere of influence, even a commoner would be unharmed by the queen.

The story of Alice in Wonderland, for instance, indicated the capacities of these Fairy Courts; even a little girl could escape unscathed as long as she could get away.

The little fairies would all leave Toril along with the deities because they were inherently weak.

Without Oberon and the pegasus deity of unicorns, even the little fairies in the Outer Court might get hurt by large creatures that intruded.

Hill’s laissez-faire attitude toward the Little Flower Fairy demonstrated that he was never worried about troubles the little fairies caused that he couldn’t handle.

What concerned Hill more was something else, he couldn’t help but ask Vila, ”Does Oberon want Joyous Court to have an official divine position for you?

Was he rejected?

As the queen’s youngest daughter, you certainly qualify, and you also have your own subjects, so why not?”

Oberon indeed often clashed with Queen Titania in the past, but even when they believed Vila to be fallen, he never made the drastic move to completely depart from Shady Home.

This King’s Consort, though gloomy and silent, was fundamentally serious and responsible; as the Guardian God of little fairies, he patrolled and defended the vast forests of the Inner and Outer Courts almost year-round.

Hill felt that his sudden rage was likely due to Vila’s divinity.

He who was so dutiful toward his subjects was even more attentive to his own children.

”My mother, though fond of my dad, it doesn’t change that she has other favored little fairies, and those fairy spirits, not only are they good-looking, but they also cater to her every command and flatter her endlessly.

On the other hand, my dad after she officially became queen, not only didn’t like to pay her any mind, he occasionally fancied other beautiful little fairies.

My siblings and I actually think my dad did nothing wrong, but my mom is quite unhappy about it.

She keeps close tabs on dad.

This time, she also wanted to use me to restrain my father, hoping he would move back to the Royal Palace of the Inner Court for good, rather than staying in the forest all the time.

I couldn’t care less about those things! To put it bluntly, she has already assigned some divine positions to her inner favorites and is too reluctant to share any significant divinities with me!

I also don’t need those handouts of divinity! I have my Flower Fairies.

It’s just that the number of Flower Fairies hasn’t grown much over these thousand years due to my absence from the Royal Court; it will take time to cultivate them.

That’s alright, your garden and forest here in Hill’s domain are enough for me.

I’m already a demigod, time is never an issue, and though I’m impatient, I’m not in a hurry!

Although I’ve told all the little fairies who asked that my return this time is just a temporary refuge.

It’s the right of every little fairy; even she, as the queen, can’t deny me the right to stay in the Outer Court with my followers, and with my status, I can enter the Inner Court at any time, but I just want to protect those Flower Fairies following me!

But she seems to think I returned to seek refuge, that I can only live well by relying on her.

My mother, since becoming the queen, has truly become quite terrifying!

Why would she use a daughter she once wronged to threaten her own husband?

Thankfully I have somewhere to return, and my dad was so upset that he left with me.

My siblings have already been formally deified and don’t live inside the Royal Court; my mother can’t control them.”

Upon hearing the words ’once wronged,’ Hill understood; Queen Titania, who had once taken the Joyous Court away from Toril, indeed did not seek out Vila.

In doing so, when she abandoned those little fairies who had not returned to the Fairy Forest in time, no one could blame her—for as a queen, she had even forsaken her own child!

Just like when she, not yet the mistress of the Joyous Court, suddenly went out for a visit when she was presented with a Dark Gem filled with malevolent power.

Her sister ended up accepting that gift in her stead, unable to resist her fondness for the colossal gemstone.

And then she became the Void Dark Queen of the Court of Sorrow and Rage.

There was always this rumor, saying that the Fairy Queen left on purpose, so the only sister who could compete with her for the divine position was naturally out of the picture.

That’s why she often pretended not to know about the Void Dark Queen’s harm to the little fairies, because she never expected her own fallen sister to directly become a lord of the Court of Sorrow and Rage with power equal to her own.

Owing a deity, and owing a fallen relative, results in completely different outcomes, and Queen Titania didn’t dare to directly confront her own sister.

Although her methods were a bit ruthless, Hill also knew one thing, the competition among the Fairy Queens was always at the cost of the losers’ demise, they were fighting not only for power but also for their lives.

However, it’s quite normal for a queen who ascended to her position in such a manner to have little affection for her children.

Hill smiled and let Vila play on her own.

The appearance of the White Wax Trees always incited the little flower fairies to sing and dance within them, gather for entertainment, for those trees were, from their born memories, the most secure and reliable existence.

Hill watched Vila flap her wings happily and hold hands with other little flower fairies around a huge White Wax Tree, their little feet tapping on the air, dancing a strangely rhythmic aerial dance. He couldn’t help but smile, then he sighed again, feeling somewhat pensive over the two pieces of news he received on the same day.

The same chaotic faction mother, Queen Amulap of Eternity Island, gave up the path to deity for her children, whereas Queen Titania of the Joyous Court made the opposite decision.

Then, the children of the Elf Queen are willing to pay any price to protect their mother, while the three children of the Little Fairy Queen only have affection for their father.

Vila didn’t care at all about not being able to become a true deity; for her, a demigod’s life was eternal anyway, and clinging to Hill was more comfortable than staying at the Royal Court, so she didn’t mind her mother’s attitude, but was willing to share her domain with Oberon.

Sometimes, the heartlessness characteristic of the Chaotic Faction is quite admirable, just like Vila, who had already put Shady Home behind her.

She was truly happy every day, with the addition of one task in the morning—flying to the White Wax Forest to greet her dear dad.

For Hill, the appearance of Oberon didn’t really stir any emotions.

This Lord of Beasts, other than keeping a lot of moose in the yard and nibbling on quite a few lawns, spent most of his time quietly in his White Wax Forest enjoying the scenery.

He also seemed a bit interested in the human world below, always sitting on a branch looking down, but his curiosity seemed to be satisfied by just looking, without any impulse to go out and explore.

This was regardless of the fact that many little flower fairies and brown sprites had already appeared in the little forests beneath the Floating Castle.

Ever since most people moved into Agleya City, Hill turned all places outside the shopping street and the large residential area intended as a shelter into forest gardens.

For the little fairies, this was safe enough.

Those humans and elves, even if they saw the fairies dancing in the air, could do nothing but shout and scream.

Of course, there were those who were blinded by greed, but the Puzzle Locks securely protected the safety of every little fairy, and those who dared to intervene never appeared again.

Whether Agleya City or Hill’s port town here, under the city, there are arrays arranged just like in the underground of Central City of Teraxil, such as the methods for treating sewage and garbage.

That high temperature cutting array, which could compete with the strongest volcanic furnaces could handle all little troubles. Hill didn’t even need to do it himself, as List and Marsha could handle it.

Hill felt that it was time to consider the problem of the half-plane.

It was very clear that Vila intended to stick with him with her whole family, even if he left Toril.

Hill flipped through the thing in his hand; he needed to make a star map that could record the road by himself, to look for a half-plane. It was easier to find on Toril, since there were broken stars everywhere now.

The formation of half-planes is generally the result of these shattered stars meeting with the Space Law, but in other universes, they are usually natural formations, and very small inside.

Although Hill could also use a lot of Space Crystals within it, he still hoped that the bigger the half-plane he obtained, the better.

Therefore, Toril, where deities frequently clash in the Stellar Realm, is truly the most suitable. Although there are many competitors here, Hill isn’t afraid of people snatching, and secondly, his concern is not finding nothing, but rather not finding one.

Moreover, while half-planes are precious, in the law calculations of Toril, they are not considered anything good, because if mages don’t spend a lot of expensive materials to repair and complete these broken half-planes, these shattered star spaces will also gradually disintegrate into ashes over time.

In the universe’s calculations of law, a half-plane can only be considered high-level material, not an invaluable divine artifact that cannot be forsaken.

Deep in calculations of various star charts, Hill was met with an elf fleet of more than a hundred ships.

This time he was a bit surprised. He had read some introductions about the elf navy, which totaled around 200 ships in all, and here was the Navy Admiral with the Little Prince, bringing out more than half!

And most likely, all the top-tier ones were here. He seemed to understand why his dear friend Lynn was so capable!

Indeed, there are formidable characters in every faction.
