Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 770: Chapter 569: Hill Has Really Exposed Too Much

Hill chuckled softly, waving his hand to disperse the Illusion Technique above his Cloud House.

He had almost forgotten how greatly restricted the deities of this world were.

As the Goddess of Battle, whose Divinity was strategy, planning, and tactics, the Red Knight was naturally more perceptive.

Her presence was quite obvious, standing behind several robust barbarians with a greatsword, but her crimson armor was enough to reveal her identity.

Although skilled in strategics, she didn’t intend to completely hide her presence in front of other deities.

Regrettably, Valkin’s attention was solely focused on an unusually slender adventurer.

Hill’s Cloud House had already appeared, yet, she kept looking back at the small path to the North repeatedly.

Until Ambori, unable to bear it any longer, threw a shell at her head, did she finally look up to see Hill calmly sitting at the bow, smiling down at her.

”You indeed came over here, Coron’s lapdog!” Valkin shouted, hands on hips, ”What, got scared after knowing my followers spotted you? I knew you’d run away!”

Hill stunned for a moment before asking in a low voice, ”Did Cyric show you that Cyrine Scripture?”

The Red Knight couldn’t contain herself and burst into hysterical laughter.

Ambori emerged from the sea, shouting, ”Call back your other half, Valkin!”

Hill suddenly realized, no wonder Valkin was acting so foolishly, it seemed she had anticipated Hill might continue traveling North, thus she directed her strongest power there.

With Valkin’s abilities, she probably could only control one avatar; thus after splitting into two, did she place the smarter half in the North?

Originally, when Hill spoke with that general store owner, he had been somewhat vague, but that’s only because he disliked anyone predicting his plans.

But it looks like Valkin really was determined to trouble him, effectively blocking off both his potential paths.

Hill did nothing, merely shifting his position leisurely, and asked with a smile towards the Red Knight below, ”Respected Lady of Strategy, may I have the honor of inviting you for a coffee?”

The Golden Light had just faded away from Valkin when she heard this remark and nervously glanced towards the caravan behind, at the vivid armor behind a group of barbarians.

To her relief, the Red Knight flatly rejected Hill’s invitation, but her words greatly angered Valkin, ”Ah! No need for now, I’m just here to see what becomes of Valkin.

Of course, if you can’t defeat those three wastes united, I might just have to step in.

I have not forgotten the grudge of Felunryel for a moment.

Lately, my main targets along with Tampas have been the Chromatic Dragon Queen and Bane, that’s why we let trash like Valkin off the hook.

Who expected her to dare cause trouble in the North, thinking barbarians know nothing? Her idiot follower’s arrival in Icewind Valley was known in the Barbarian Kingdom the very next day.

Tampas is only busy catching Bane right now and can’t be bothered with her.

To think she dared use an avatar to descend into Icewind Valley, heh~”

Her laughter was hoarse, her long black hair cascading behind her bright red armor, her eyes sparkling like star gems.

Valkin let out low curses, scolding the priests behind her and Ambori for not realizing the Red Knight was here!

Her golden eyes flickered with rage; with the Red Knight present, her embarrassment this time would spread across all of Toril.

Yet, she said nothing to the Red Knight and instead vented her anger towards Hill.

Observing the cloud of coins rushing towards him, Hill smiled.

The Red Knight had just advanced from a demigod to bearing faint Divine Power not long ago; even Valkin didn’t dare confront her but dared to strike at Hill, which was too disrespectful!

He raised his hand, and twelve tornadoes suddenly appeared, blocking the cloud formed from coins amidst the shouts below.

”If it’s only attacks of this level, I really can’t understand, Goddess Valkin, whether you truly hate me,” Hill said leisurely, ”This is even weaker than Ambori.”

Hill sharply heard laughter rising from the sea.

Ambori still had the mood to gloat; as a standard of weakness, was she actually proud?

Ambori’s intelligence truly remained pitiful forever.

This alliance... Hill pondered for a moment, Bane must have stirred it up?

Since the Red Knight stated Tampas was busy chasing Bane, then Bane, who always wanted to increase his influence in the North, must be in a tight spot.

Was this to divert Tampas’s attention using these few individuals?

Who knew only the Red Knight would come, not even bringing her war guards.

This Tampas, who generally disliked dealing with other deities of Ferun Great Land, mostly stood in a neutral position, and tended to not take sides, was actually so resolute in chasing Bane, it seems the matter of Felunryel really enraged him.

Valkin let out an angry scream, pulled out her rarely used nunchucks, and charged toward the sky. She really hadn’t expected that Hill could block her Divine Artifact, Cloud of Gold Coins, without even using the Ring of Winter.

She probably didn’t understand the saying, ”One should regard each other with a fresh eye every three days.”

Not to mention that since Hill arrived in Toril, he had learned so many new things and his level as a Nature Mage had increased so much. Even the Magic Book hanging on his wrist provided a boost to Wind Magic!

The tornado Hill now summoned was three times as powerful as it had been in Felunryel.

Hill watched the golden gift rushing toward him and couldn’t help but curl his lips. Did Valkin think he was just a Mage and wanted a close combat?

The silver light orbs surrounding him flew directly out, smashing right into Valkin’s head.

Hill pressed a finger to his lips, deciding to still keep his strength hidden for the time being.

The small fan in his right hand quickly enlarged, and twelve long swords swiftly stabbed toward Valkin.

Hill had always felt that Valkin’s luck had been chewed up by Grazt since she roamed the Bottomless Abyss.

All twelve swords carried special effects, thundering toward the Goddess of Wealth with flashes of lightning and roars of thunder.

Valkin struggled to fend off the swords. Thunder-type attacks always inflicted great damage on her, and she shouted furiously, ”Ambori! What use are you?

My duplicate was destroyed by him, and you can’t even fully describe his abilities?

Won’t you take action? Are you waiting for me to die first?”

”Wasn’t I under the impression that the Divinity of Wealth, possessing only Lower Rank Divine Power, didn’t require the humble Ambori to make a move?” Ambori explained in a raspy voice, as leaky as a wind.

Hill moved his left hand slightly, the golden Ring of Winter flashing with silver light, instantly freezing all of Ambori’s attack paths.

He had a feeling that these people were trying to force him to use the Ring of Winter.

Hill worried a bit and thought that Marla must have really come, probably carrying a Subartifact-level Demonslayer Dagger in her claws.

He wasn’t afraid of this, but Marla in her humanoid form was notoriously ugly, and Hill was somewhat reluctant to look.

With the power of the Ring of Winter, the tornado he summoned turned into an Ice Storm, making everyone watching involuntarily retreat to a further distance.

The only one who could still stand was the Goddess of Strategy and her large red horse that had unfolded its wings. The Red Knight had already drawn the heavy sword from her back, waiting for the outcome with bated breath.

Although she hadn’t made a move, Valkin was clearly affected; she dared not fight Hill to the death.

Probably worried that she wouldn’t have enough strength to escape later.

Hill smirked coldly. The Ring of Winter continued flashing, and numerous ice puppets appeared midair, encircling both the struggling Valkin with flying swords and Ambori, frozen in the seawater.

The temperature rapidly dropped, and within a kilometer centered around Cloud House had prematurely welcomed the Dead of Winter.

The power of the Ring of Winter, except for the Falls Sea, had all been unleashed, and Hill’s body now bore a blue translucent cape.

As a figure as fast as lightning charged directly at Hill, Valkin burst into wild laughter.

Even as that person charged into the protective barrier of Cloud House, Hill still had the leisure to observe the slightly delayed laughter of Ambori.

And there was the Red Knight, whose mount had unfolded its wings and taken flight.

It seemed her most important task here was to prevent Hill from being killed on the God of Battle’s turf.

Tampas indeed lived up to his reputation of Eternal Neutrality; both sides of good and evil could fight freely, just don’t drag him into it.

His pursuit of Bane and others was unconnected; it was just their personal vendetta.

Hill smiled and unfolded his Crystal Fan, swiping it quickly against the claw holding the dagger: ”Too slow, Marla! You’re even worse than a Gray Dwarf.”

The dagger fell to the ground, swept into the Cloud House by a swiftly reacting Demigod Vine.

Marla could no longer care about that dagger, she let out a miserable scream: ”Ow—hurt!” Her claw was already broken.

The Mystery Rein Ring on Hill’s right hand flashed with an odd light, and the ugly humanoid creature, wailing on the ground clutching his hand, suddenly burst into flames.

Hill raised his right hand and looked at it, amused. ”These Star Spirits really are interesting, aren’t they? They even replicated the Curse on the God of Hunting.

But it seems they didn’t quite control the extent of the curse—this damage is much stronger than Mystrian’s own.”

Valkin shrieked as her belt flew swiftly into the air and exploded, creating a shield among the swords. Her cloud of Gold Coins, amplified by the attack of the Ice Storm to hundreds of meters, also exploded into countless Gold Coins.

No wonder that was Valkin’s strongest Divine Artifact. Hill watched as the Gold Coins, shimmering with the power of faith, directly sliced the Ice Storm into numerous small whirlwinds and walked over to pick up the Demonslayer Dagger on the ground.

The fleeing Marla was already wrapped up by the Demigod Vine.

Hill thought for a moment, and as he passed by, he stomped hard, and the creature’s attempt to cut the vine encasing it with large elk horns coming from its head immediately ceased as they snapped off.

Not to mention Ambori, still struggling in the frozen sea, Valkin who had summoned a Dimensional Gate attempting to rush into it, was directly kicked up into the sky by two horse hooves.
