Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 753: Chapter 552: The Future Planning of Agleya City

Hill truly hadn’t expected the human deities to be so wary of Lansendel.

Miliel, who was usually carefree, even mentioned such concerns; could it be that in the Toril Gods, besides Suren, Lansendel had no other friends left?

”If that is the case, then the human deities wouldn’t consider coming here to develop believers.

”Lynn lowered his head, scratching his hair involuntarily, ”That also means it’s impossible for Agleya City to have any Temples.

In that case, those Elves whose faith is rather pure wouldn’t consider living here.

It’s no wonder Coron only developed a business district and a residential area, with no nobility district.”

”Why would you think that the human deities would want to build Temples here?” Hill asked a bit perplexedly, ”Aren’t all those who come Elves and Half-Elves?”

Coming here directly to compete with the Elven Pantheon for followers among Elves and Half-Elves would be a bold move that the human deities of Toril probably wouldn’t dare to make.

It’s known that apart from Rose’s ex-boyfriend, who had a change of heart before entering the Abyss, Elves do not possess faint divine power.

Their Demigods are stronger than the faint divine power of other God Systems.

Lynn smiled oddly, ”But on the blueprint, there is a college district, with everything from a junior academy that teaches literacy to various professional academies well-established.

Not like Silvermoon City, which only has Mages and Alchemists, this is a comprehensive professional academy.

Hill, it’s not just Humans and Elves; Gnomes, Dwarves, Fairies – all of their professions are included.” He pointed to the thick folder beside Hill, ”This doesn’t look like something that only concerns Coron and the Elven Deity System.

The Bard subjects are so complete that I was astonished, not only Miliel’s but even those of the Goddess of Dance.

Those names of future lecturers on the list, I’m really familiar with them!

What’s going on?

I asked Miliel, and he told me to come directly to you, saying you’d know better.”

Hill looked up at Lynn in surprise and quickly began to carefully thumb through the folder.

The Bard’s Academy in Silvermoon City had been standing there for thousands of years, and some lecturers had been there since its establishment, but their names also appeared on the list for this new academy.

”What is Mystra up to now?” Hill murmured, ”The deities of the Harpist Alliance, though dissatisfied recently, only covertly supported Coron in troubling her!

This is openly joining the fray, a complete falling out!”

”Although the affairs involving Kelben were indeed disconcerting, Elaströ has behaved rather well!” Lynn inquired further, ”This can’t all be blamed on Mystra, can it? Why is the Ferun Pantheon also so disgruntled with her?”

”Lynn.” Hill said while still browsing through the documents, ”The second Goddess of Magic only wanted to restrict those uncontrollable Mages.

But the current one, she wants everything the deities do on the Weave to be under her control.

Even Miliel, who is usually quite generous, wouldn’t want the Goddess of Magic to know everything he says and does.

Miliel, who is normally talkative, hasn’t he been quieter lately?

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have sent you to me.”

Lynn asked in shock, ”Has she gone mad?”

Hill also felt Mystra was a bit too hasty.

An idea suddenly flashed through Hill’s mind, growing more plausible the more he thought about it. He whispered, ”As Mystra, her actions indeed present a problem.

But as Midnight, it’s very likely she would do this.

Lynn, she harbors hatred towards the deities.

Remember, her previous life included comrades and a lover.

In the eyes of the deities, the sacrifice during the Years of Turmoil was already significant.

But the humans were even more innocent.

During the Years of Turmoil, how many human lives were lost!

Midnight seems to greatly miss her past.

Now, friends who once had good relationships have either betrayed her or died, or even become enemies with their lovers.

She’s also the one safeguarding the Weave that perpetually binds her for the deities.

She has always been reluctant to let go of the Midnight Mage in her heart; otherwise, the Weave would have already assimilated her into Neutral.

Although her actions are extreme, fundamentally, they are actually beneficial to the Weave.

By restricting the deities’ privileges, it indeed becomes difficult for the Toril Weave to encounter further issues.

Moreover, most importantly, it can limit the exploitation of the Weave by the Evil Faction, significantly weakening the Shadow Weave as a result.

After all, this is her prerogative as the Goddess of Magic.

Even AO cannot fault her for being excessively diligent.”

Hill grew silent, if he could think of this, then the deities of Toril couldn’t have missed it.

No wonder Shaer seemed to scheme so effortlessly.

Perhaps AO even facilitated matters smoothly, not only teaching Midnight a lesson to let go completely and become the true Mystra but also reclaiming the unruly Shadow Weave in the process.

Apart from AO being satisfied, the other deities who were frightened by the event weren’t in a much better state either.

Their followers were scattered to every corner of the Ferun Great Land, and in the following years, who wasn’t busy working to tie up loose ends for Mystra!

In the end, the reluctant Mystra still fell twice more before she resigned herself to giving up her identity as Midnight.

Therefore, the Toril world was truly unsettling.

So many lives were lost simply to teach a lesson to a goddess who refused to abandon her humanity.

Hill’s expression remained impassive as he put away the documents in his hand; Lynn didn’t understand magic arrays and therefore failed to notice the real crux within the diagrams.

”How long has it been since then, eh!” Lynn was very puzzled, ”Why would she react only at this time?”

”Back then, the relationship between the Grim Reaper and her was still very close.” Hill said indifferently, ”You know, it’s really something that Kelemvor, as the Grim Reaper, insisted on maintaining an alliance with Mystra.”

”Damn it!” Lynn swore, also aware that those two later turned against each other.

No wonder the current Grim Reaper, that Kelemvor, hasn’t shown any movement.

He must know why Mystra went mad. Midnight had always hoped to salvage her love with Kelemvor, but the disheartened Grim Reaper had no desire to see her again.

No one knew what exactly their issues were, but it was clear to everyone that the responsibility couldn’t possibly lie with Kelemvor, after all, he was the one who closed the door and she, Mystra, was always the one knocking.

Hill sighed: ”The human gods haven’t been so obvious, but the deities of other races are almost outright pointing fingers at Mystra and cursing.”

”These bards who have come are all Half-Elves, in fact, the God of Knowledge and Miliel still gave her a chance to rethink.”

”Hill, do you think she will give up?” Lynn asked softly, ”The Weave can’t be endangered again; it’s too risky. Even if we are safe, what about our loved ones?

No one can guarantee that in times of disaster, family and friends will all be in safe places!”

His expression became slightly alarmed, and Hill realized, he was worried about his naval relatives.

”At least there won’t be any issues for the next few years.” Hill reassured him, ”And besides, the gods won’t directly fight with her, they’re just expressing dissatisfaction.”

As for the great collapse a decade later, Hill remembered that Mystra continued the approach of the second-generation Goddess of Magic by using her Chosen as anchors to the Weave, ensuring that as long as she resurrected quickly enough, the worst that could happen would be displacements around the world.

It was only the common folk who were unlucky; professionals of any significant strength mostly survived.

Hill had been in the Toril World for these few years and had avoided dealing with commoners precisely for this reason.

The commoners of this world, if they couldn’t find a way to rise, truly lived worse lives than the rabbits in old Teraxil.

Even in death, they would garner no attention.

Only if they were slaughtered by the Evil Faction or during the fall of cities would they appear as a background in the cold text.

But as an outsider, there really was nothing Hill could do.

The essence of the Toril World determined all this.

He also couldn’t stay in this world forever like Tyr, changing from a warm-hearted God of Heroes to the repressed, flawed God of Justice that he is now.

Hill was very clear that he would only fight desperately for Teraxil, which was his homeland.

To him, Toril was merely a stopover, a tourist destination, and should anything truly go wrong, he would only take those he cared for and flee directly.

Hill had just examined the planning diagram given by the Temporal Artifact and he noted the most crucial point:

If a massive earthquake occurred, this city could directly break free from the earth below and exist independently.

The complex magic array diagrams that were handed over to Hill, under layers of camouflage, had a bottom that reached deep into the earth like a cone, and around and within this cone were arrays similar to those at the bottom of the Floating Mountain.

Hill smiled, ”When you have time, ask those ’Teraxil Elves’ whether they have an ultimate mission to find the Naish Scrolls and the Energy Mythril Core of the Floating City.”

It turned out the God of Time and Space also knew what would happen on Toril after ten years, and using this as the main reason for the Undead Tribe to come to this world made much more sense.

Lynn suddenly smiled, ”So they were trying to find the inheritance of the Great Archmage!

No wonder so many Elves were willing to come.

We wondered how much Coron had paid to afford such a hire!”

Hill blinked; Elves never seemed to think that they had to risk their lives for the call of the Main God.

That was for the devout believers, irrelevant to the average Elf.

Even for Coron, the Father of Elves, before offering enough benefits, nobody was willing to pay the hefty price of crossing worlds.

But, if it was for gaining the Mythril Core, these Elves rushing over to engage in competitive adventure tasks seemed very normal to them.

If you want to earn big, you have to pay a price, right!

Besides, the fact that Coron had provided travel expenses for these ’Teraxil Elves’ was something Lynn and the others were aware of.

Was Coron intentionally changing the name of the ’Undead Tribe’?

He was calculating something in secret, no wonder his messenger was practically living next to the Temporal Artifact.

He planned to come at any moment, ready to communicate with the Controller on the other side of the artifact!

What benefits did he offer to make William work so hard?

It must be William; surely the God of Time and Space wouldn’t be that idle... right?
