Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 789: Chapter 588: Sudden Changes on Eternity Island

Hill, standing next to Marsha, soon caught Lynn’s attention.

He strode over without a second thought,”Is that Hill?”

Lynn was well aware that the only person Marsha would address so respectfully was her master.

Hill broke his illusion technique, smiling and nodding at Lynn,”Are you looking for me, Lynn?”

Lynn replied straightforwardly,”Yes, Pat brought me a family letter. Something big has happened on Eternity Island.”

Hill looked quizzically at the frazzled Lynn,”It can’t be that the Queen has finally run out of patience and started fighting with those nobles, can it?”

This Queen has endured for hundreds of years; she should be able to endure a little longer, right?

Shouldn’t she wait to see the Teraxil Elves win their battle against the demons before considering joining this side?

The evil forces of Toril were never the only reason the elves had to stay far away across the sea; more significant were the half-orcs coming down from the World’s Ridge every so often and the demons following in their wake.

”More or less,” Lynn waved the letter in his hand, ”The Queen of Eternity Island, Her Majesty Amura Moonflower, has suddenly disappeared. Admiral Gar of the Navy is convinced that the nobles are to blame, taking the Queen’s youngest son Ramriel with the Royal Fleet, preparing to come to Agleya City to see Coron.”

Hill was stunned for a moment,”How is that possible? I remember when that Queen was 700 years old, she was already a match for the demigods of the Elf Deity System.”

Lynn said helplessly,”Everyone knows she must have left by herself. The Queen gave up joining the Elf Deity System just to wait for her missing children to return to her side.

She forsook the chance to become a deity to stand guard over Eternity Island, yet she suddenly made this decision, and it was about more than just Coron’s abandonment of Eternity Island.”

”Did Admiral Gar only bring Prince Ramriel?” Hill found this to be even stranger. The Queen had many children; even if some had died, there shouldn’t have been...

”Hill, you should ask, ’Is Prince Ramriel the only one left?’” Lynn spoke bluntly,”When the Elf Devourer was attracted to Eternity Island, three princesses and one prince were sacrificed directly. Although only the eldest princess and the Crown Prince were confirmed dead, the other two never appeared again.

But after that incident... The Elf Nobility also suffered heavy casualties, so no one thought too much about it.

Afterward, two princesses went missing during a diplomatic journey, one prince died in a Sword Singer trial, two princesses were expelled for marrying humans, and one princess died of melancholy after a tragic romance with a Great Noble.”

”Of the Queen’s thirteen children, only the three youngest were left. The younger princess, upon witnessing the tragic fates of her sisters, went straight to follow Melike, preferring to accompany the Unicorn Goddess every day rather than looking back.

Then there were Prince Zandro and Prince Ramriel.

Prince Zandro... followed his Aunt, the Queen, becoming a reclusive mage who declared withdrawal from the Royal Family and severed all contact with others.

Although Prince Ramriel often traveled abroad and had a rather erratic personality, he truly was the Royal Family’s last hope. There were rumors that he had drawn the Sword of the Moon Elf King.

No matter the reasons behind the Queen’s disappearance, Hill, it seems we will be receiving a batch of visitors.”

Hearing Lynn enunciate the word ’visitors’ forcefully, Hill understood his worries.

Although Admiral Gar was his grandmother, Lynn absolutely did not want Agleya City taken from Hill’s hands. What he really feared was that Coron would intervene to help the prince to take power, given that he and his wife genuinely adored the Sorrowful Queen.

He chuckled lightly,”Don’t worry, Lynn. My territory will remain mine, and Coron will surely not do anything.

Moreover, Coron doesn’t actually have much control over the Teraxil Elves.

The Temporal Artifact will definitely not help him against me.”

Lynn steadied himself, thought of Coron sitting in the Alchemy Hall, and began to feel that he might be worrying too much.

Hill was someone who could sit and talk with Coron - his identity was definitely not just the Demigod he claimed to be.

It was apparent from his words that in Teraxil, he held a high position.

”If Admiral Gar comes with Prince Ramriel, you can go out and welcome him,” Hill thought for a moment before adding, ”I better not interfere too much with Toril’s matters.”

Just as the Gar Family could be called Gold Elves but were actually Sun Elves, the Moonflower Family could also be called Silver Elves, or, of course, Moon Elves.

Unfortunately, just hearing the term ’Moon Elves’ made Hill’s heart tremble a little, and he wanted nothing to do with this business.

He told Lynn outright,”Go to Coron. These people are coming for him, not for us.”

As for that Elf Queen, Hill remembered that she had pulled this trick before, but at that time, Prince Ramriel seemed to have already found a place in The North to build his own country.

Once her children had a place to go, the Queen disappeared, leaving the Eternity Island Nobility with a huge mess, and, naturally, the struggle for the throne resulted in division and death for most, while the rest didn’t fare much better.

The Puzzle Lock of Eternity Island would gradually vanish once she and the children had left, and Ramriel was lucky to have his life spared, being seemingly the most inconsequential of them all.

The Queen seemed not to have gone to Ramriel’s kingdom afterwards but instead planned to traverse the entire world in search of her missing children.

It was the appearance of the Teraxil Elves that had accelerated her decision by more than a hundred years—Hill had truly not expected her to be so resolute and decisive.

As for Ramriel, whether he chose to establish his own kingdom elsewhere or simply build his own city in the nearby wilderness or on an island, he could now seek help from the Otherworld Elves invited by Coron.

”I reckon the Queen’s brother and the other Prince have long since left Eternity Island,” Hill thought for a moment and decided to remind Lynn and his somewhat dim-witted cousin beside him, ”Without the Moonflower Family on Eternity Island, the Puzzle Lock will disappear sooner or later.

Compared to Prince Ramriel, it’s those Elf Nobles who are fond of snatching food from others’ bowls that you need to be wary of.”

Lynn was initially taken aback, and then turned to glance at his cousin.

It seemed Hill was more concerned about the Noble offspring of the Elf Crusade than about the Prince.

He pondered and said, ”The Gar Family, I reckon, have all made it out this time; they are officially Neutral but still lean more towards the Queen’s side.

As for the others... even though they’ve been abandoned by their families, it’s not certain they could really be cold-hearted enough to act.

Don’t worry, those guys won’t be getting out for a hundred years; I will think of a way to place the ones who are prone to trouble in a location that can’t communicate with the outside world.

As long as they do not see the pitiful state of their relatives, they will not waver.”

Lynn didn’t care too much about these matters; what he was really concerned about was the lawful kingly authority of the Eternity Island Royalty, not the noble factions which he didn’t care for at all.

In any race or nation, if the Nobles could cause trouble, it was because the King was not powerful enough; the former King of Eternity Island was indeed a good man, yet good men do not necessarily make competent kings.

Lynn certainly didn’t think the Elf Nobles would be able to handle Hill—their assassination methods were simply inviting death upon themselves.

Since Hill’s attitude towards this was one of indifference, Lynn bluntly left Hill and his cousin and headed straight to the Alchemy Hall.

He needed to confer with Coron quickly on how to treat these guests; after all, the fleet led by Admiral Gar of the Royal Fleet was incredibly swift.

Even though the message his cousin received was delivered by the family’s Elf Dragon messenger, Lynn estimated that in no more than three days, the fleet should arrive at Agleya City.

Unless... Lynn shook his head; after the heavy blow to Ambori, there should no longer be anyone on the ocean who could trouble an Elf Fleet led by a Demigod.

After chatting with Lynn’s Gar cousin, Hill soon understood why the Eternity Island’s royal fleet was called the King’s Fleet, while Admiral Gar’s fleet was referred to as the Royal Fleet.

They were originally the fleet under the command of the now-fallen Sun Elf Royalty, but the fleet at sea survived the great disaster at that time.

The Royal Fleet, with nowhere to go, was eventually taken in by the Eternity Island Royalty. As the last of the Great Nobility among the Sun Elves, the Gar Family had a rather unique status.

Admiral Gar was willing to help this Little Prince because she greatly admired the Sorrowful Queen, not because she was subservient to the Royalty of Eternity Island.

When Hill was leaving little Gar and returning to the Floating Castle, he was still pondering how the Royalty of Eternity Island had come to such an end, likely because they were too kind, rendering the subsequent Queen all the more cold and detached.

He sighed as he landed on the balcony of his study, yet something strange seemed to flicker at the corner of his eye.

Turning his head to look down at the courtyard below, Hill was surprised to find that rows of White Wax Trees had suddenly sprouted around the grass lawns of his courtyards on both sides. Except for the space overhead, even if someone were able to see through the Isolation Array, they could no longer view the courtyard from the outside.

The ivory-like texture was a clear indication that these trees must have been directly transplanted from Shady Home.

And the only one capable of such a feat was Oberon; other Little Fairies didn’t have the power to move so many large trees—they could at most transfer some shrubs.

Was the King’s Consort planning to take up permanent residence in the Floating Castle?

Hill watched a moose walking in the courtyard and genuinely grasped Oberon’s determination; he was resolved to stay by Vila’s side.

”Hill...” Vila floated beside him, sounding a bit embarrassed, ”My dad, because of the situation with me, had a falling out with my mom and is planning to stay here temporarily.

However, my dad is worried that my mom might take her anger out on his White Wax Trees and pet moose, so...

But I’ve asked List, and he said we could do as we please~”

Hill started to laugh.

He had indeed told List that as long as the Little Fairies didn’t cause any major trouble, they were free to have their fun in the Floating Castle.

Oberon was one of the Little Fairies, so it was normal for List to agree.
