Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 395: Chapter 194: The Time Has Come, Distant Visitors

After lying down for a long time, the Earth Bear suddenly stood up and quickly climbed to the top of the giant tree.

He stood on the branches, staring into the distance.

The person he wanted to see still hadn’t appeared.

Those who are pampered are always fearless. The Earth Bear’s daughter was no exception.

She must have thought, no matter what she did, her father would always be there when she turned back.

Even if she might bring danger.

But she probably didn’t understand that in her father’s heart, there were more important existences than her.

The Earth Bear, even as a Demigod, still had the thinking of a Magical Beast. No matter how much he loved this child, once he decided to give up completely, he was very resolute.

The Earth Bear standing on the branch let out a long howl.

He jumped to the ground and patted the tree in front of him with his paw, the tree that had accompanied him for many years.

Then, without looking back, he ran into the deep mountains.

Without any hesitation.

Hill felt a faint sadness; this bear was really unlucky.

First, he lost Mother Earth, and after finally gathering himself, wanting a home of his own, he married the wrong wife.

It was still the wife he had fought many opponents to win.

And then was left with this very rare daughter.

For the Earth Bear and a Druid transformed into a bear to have a child was simply a miracle.

He actually cherished this daughter, otherwise, who had ever seen a male bear raise a child?

He had thought that this child could accompany him for a long time, but in the end, it was just a void.

His daughter had chosen love and abandoned him.

This time he wasn’t as heartbroken as when he lost the Goddess of the Earth.

But that continuous sadness still affected Hill.

Making him finally open his eyes amidst endless sighs.

Then Hill realized that this unpleasant dream had made him sleep for an entire day.

Leaning against the head of the bed, Hill looked out at the starry sky, feeling a bit dazed.

Although he now knew the source of his bloodline, Hill was still not very happy.

Luckily, Alice was not his biological daughter.

His sadness wasn’t that heavy.

But, even if she were, Alice wouldn’t be so foolish and selfish.

One might even call it cold-blooded.

Moon Elves seemed to have a bit of this trait. The only thing that seemed to truly affect their emotions was love; other feelings were quite indifferent.

Even love, sometimes, was about possession rather than mutual ownership.

Alice wasn’t like that.

Hill, although causing quite a commotion, had a deep connection with Alice. He could sense this cat’s psychological activities.

Alice’s certainty in choosing Merkel was because he had sworn that as long as Hill was around, Merkel’s kingdom would never become an enemy of the humans.

If Merkel hadn’t done so, Alice would have just hidden herself, crying in some corner.

She would never choose an enemy of Hill as a companion.

Moreover, by choosing a Spirit of Nature as a companion, no matter how cruel Merkel’s thoughts were, he wouldn’t act on them.

Evil wasn’t tolerated in Alice’s eyes.

Spirits of Nature were already kind enough, and she had also awakened the power of the sun god.

Choosing Alice, Merkel was like the Wolf God choosing the Lake Goddess in those days.

But the biggest difference was, though the Lake Goddess was also pure, innocent, and kind, she would completely invest in the faction of Magical Beasts for the sake of love, even without considering the factional issues.

Alice couldn’t do that.

Spirits of Nature could never turn to the Evil Faction.

If Merkel didn’t want to become a mere passerby in Alice’s life, he couldn’t adopt radical ways of doing things.

Hill didn’t know how long this leopard could hold out.

But as long as he could hold out, Alice’s love would have meaning.

Hill didn’t know if the Earth Bear’s daughter was still around, but at least, her love must have failed.

Otherwise, words like ”The Earth Bear likes Elves,” wouldn’t have spread among the Elves.

The lover for whom she gave everything didn’t love her to death as she had imagined.

Instead, she had become a joke, a tool to attack the Druids.

The Earth Bear still waited in the wilderness for the revival of the Goddess of the Earth. If his daughter were alive, she should also be in the Druids’ camp in the wilderness.

It’s uncertain whether she was with her mother.

However, this bear always seemed to give Hill a double share of feelings, whether joy or sorrow.

Sighing, Hill stood up, ready to freshen up.

Even though the starlight was still bright, it was almost sunrise.

He never thought he’d sleep for an entire day.

Maybe he spent too long in the dream.

When the first ray of morning sunlight shone through the mist, Hill was having his breakfast among the clouds.

In light of the chaos of the past two days, Hill decided to add a touch of ceremony, having a formal breakfast to welcome a brand new day.

From now on, he was a cat-less person again.

Eating his dessert, Hill looked towards the North.

There were strong magical waves, and they were coming towards the camp.

He activated the hidden mode of the Cloud House. No matter who was coming, Hill had no interest.

Fortunately, his breakfast was already finished.

Hill looked at the bizarre giant ship appearing in the distant sky and glanced at it in surprise.

This ship obviously wasn’t made by Fran.

Fran designed flying alchemical tools in the shape of ships for speed.

Only this shape could ensure the fastest, most stable flight with the least consumption.

But the ship in the distance looked like a plump sunfish.

Not only was it too long, but its bow was also covered in metal.

The rear of the ship even had sails.

Hill wondered if the person who made this ship had any common sense. The position of those sails was clearly useless.

The creator of this ship probably used the sails just to indicate that it was a ship rather than utilizing their function.

Moreover, the sails were designed to look like the dorsal fin of a sunfish.

Though useless, it was quite pretty.

Hill took a long time to realize he had grown up seeing alchemists from Fran’s orthodox faction.

They made all kinds of alchemical tools for functionality.

Even a puppet couldn’t sacrifice performance for beauty.

Decoration in this faction should be the icing on the cake. Nothing should be purely decorative and completely useless beyond looking good.

Fran’s faction of alchemists, though lavish with materials, did so only to maximize functionality, typical of an engineer’s mindset.

But not everyone was the same.

For example, the creator of this ship.

Obviously, from the luxurious enjoyment faction.

Adhering to the mentality that ”Mages are wealthy and don’t mind burning Crystal Stones,” they focused only on appearances.

No matter what it was, it had to be stylish and grand.

If the first reaction of everyone who saw it was, ”Ah! A super-rich person!”

Their purpose was achieved.

In principle, Mages were very practical people, making this approach surprising.

But many Mages of Great Nobility backgrounds couldn’t shake off the desire to show off like a peacock.

Reaching High-levels, able to act as they wished, they indulged their preferences even more.

But in the eyes of Fran’s faction, this sunfish ship was useless.

Even its praiseworthy appearance paled compared to Hill’s Cloud Ship, except for its size.

As the sunfish ship got closer, Hill clicked his tongue.

Though the ship was no good, the Array was excellent.

Not much inferior to Fran’s.

Clearly, the rarely-seen president of the Mage Association has arrived.

No one else could compare to Fran in this regard.

This Mage Association’s president, Galt Draculus, was the most powerful Mage still in this world.

Hill activated his strongest Array; he didn’t know how strong this ancient creature was spiritually.

At least not weaker than William.

He didn’t like being spiritually scanned.

Hill’s Array might not withstand the president’s spiritual power, but at least there would be a breaking process.

In wanting to negotiate with William, the president wouldn’t be that forceful.

Hill saw Fran’s Magic Tower also activated the highest level of defense.

Without thousands of years of accumulation, even with a Demi-God Artifact, Fran couldn’t contend with Galt Draculus.

Regularly traversing the Starry Sky and the Elemental Realm, he had accumulated countless treasures.

If he had been interested in managing, rather than leaving the Mage Association’s affairs to vice presidents, the association wouldn’t be so chaotic.

Hill understood that he had been made president only because he was the most powerful Mage, with no one daring to sit above him.

Not because of his managerial skills.

The Legend of Carl and Miller’s Legend flew into the sky, guiding the giant ship to the square in front of the King’s Ship.

Draculus and over twenty Legendary Mages disembarked.

Apart from the Demon Mage faction, he probably brought representatives of all factions of the Mage Association.

Hill sensed the magical aura, with no weaklings, the weakest being stronger than Miller and Carl combined.

He worriedly glanced at the King’s Ship, wondering about his grandfather with William.

In the hall of the King’s Ship.

After receiving numerous guests, William stood up for the first time to greet a guest.

Fran stood quietly to his left.

The position for the King’s Guest, ahead of the Chancellor in Saral.

Behind him were rows of Nobles.

Thankfully, there was enough time, and through Hill’s Forest Array, everyone had recovered admirably, regardless of wealth.

Draculus entered alone.

William smiled as he saw this: ”Welcome, Mr. Draculus.”

Draculus stood in the middle of the hall, glancing at the bowing Saral Nobles and the nodding Fran before nodding back: ”I am pleased to see you again, Your Majesty the King of Saral.”

With a slight movement of William’s finger, several rows of seats rose to his right.

At the front was a chair similar to his throne.

”Please sit!” William said crisply.
