Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 365: Chapter 164: The Diligent Working Hill (Extra Chapter Nine for Unparalleled Heavenly Master)

Hill stole a glance at Fran.

”Although she’s not exactly a saint either, she’s definitely not in league with those from the Forest of the Elves. How should I put it, she definitely possesses pride, but she’s not foolish enough to let her pride cloud her judgment,” Fran, looking at the sly-looking Hill, said, ”If you want to know something, just ask. What’s the point of sneaking around?”

”As long as she’s not an enemy, that’s good,” Hill quickly replied, ”I’m only worried about my maternal grandfather’s well-being. I can’t possibly have any affection for someone I’ve never met.”

Fran let out a cold laugh, ”If you suddenly became full of enthusiasm for someone you haven’t seen for decades, I would only think to ask the Goddess of the Silvermoon if your Mental Sea was clouded by someone else.

It’s just to let you know, if she truly seeks help, you should be aware of the situation.

From the moment she sent Melanie back, you and she became unrelated, and she knows that. But if there’s trouble, she will definitely find you.

After all, the chances of you lending a hand are much greater than with others.

Also, seeking help from her own blood relatives is less of a blow to her pride.”

”I understand,” Hill nodded, ”I will only offer my help when there is no danger to me. At least at this stage, her enemies are very likely the enemies of the humans too.”

Fran nodded in satisfaction.

That was enough, other people still lived in the Magic Tower, and he couldn’t possibly shut down its defenses just for Viola.

Decades have passed, and he might still reminisce about the good old days, but this had nothing to do with people.

To him, Viola is not that important anymore.

Now that he knew that the transformed animals of Elf Druids showed no magic waves, he would only activate the highest-level defensive formation.

Fran wished Hill would simply move in, but he guessed that for the sake of that cat, Hill wouldn’t be willing.

In any case, Hill’s Cloud Ship was made entirely for comfort and had really high defensive power; it was enough to protect Hill from harm.

So he had to make Hill understand that Viola was just a blood relative who was a stranger; helping casually was no problem, but he shouldn’t do anything desperate for her.

Fran didn’t want Hill to think he still had lingering feelings for Viola, he had to make that clear from the start.

Hill might not be swayed by the blood relationship, but he could completely give unnecessary concessions because this person was someone Fran liked.

Seeing Fran holding the blueprint and recalculating everything.

Hill took out the Seed Pouch to tally his flowers and shrub seeds.

Hill didn’t know if William didn’t want to just plant simple flowers or if he simply didn’t understand plant types, but still, he planned to find some flowering shrubs.

Carnations, for example, were very suitable, or those small shrubs like baby’s breath. No matter the variety, they wouldn’t grow taller than 2 meters, but they bloomed all year long, slightly taller than regular flowers, but certainly not tall enough for an elf to hide within.

Hill thought this was what William wanted.

Even on an endless prairie, it couldn’t all be flat.

There were hundreds of these small shrubs, and Hill just needed to find ones that were suitable for the local climate.

Then there were the flowers that were appropriate for this place, Hill brought them all out. When he used to assign planting tasks to the Undead Tribe, he had prepared various small bags, and now it was just a matter of filling them.

Hill also threw in a lot of pasture seeds; this prairie terrain was definitely suitable for raising horses.

As for what patterns they wanted to create or what color schemes they pursued, Hill had handed everything over to their discretion.

The suffering wouldn’t be Hill’s; it was the elves watching from afar who would really suffer.

Hill paused, knowing that William wouldn’t be able to oversee it for long; he would definitely let the Undead Tribe play to their heart’s content.

If they couldn’t annihilate the elves, they could at least torment them to death.

Hill looked up in thought and then took out Jasmine and Lily of the Valley seeds, adding a bit of his own mix to the batch.

Although it might seem like gossip, the Elves had caused him so much trouble that he couldn’t be blamed for wanting to join in on the excitement.

Fran watched the busy Hill and couldn’t help but ask, ”Are you planning to give these away for free this time? All the seeds handed out?”

Seeing Hill’s rough way of categorizing, Fran knew that Hill probably had no intention of charging for these seeds.

Even common plants, once optimized in Hill’s demi-god artifact, stood a chance to become magical plants, and yet he hadn’t thought that Hill would just give them away like this,

He didn’t even keep those seeds that had already begun to show signs of magical response.

”It’s a good thing to please nature with someone’s help!” Hill looked up and smiled, ”The seeds are provided by me, that’s enough.”

Though it was said in jest, when it came to protecting nature, Hill would never consider taking money.

Many things can’t be measured by overt benefits.

This place, after all, had suffered damage, and Hill didn’t know what the future held, but areas with a lot of magical plants would bring more benefits to the land.

If he could lend a hand to the earth, Hill was naturally willing.

The faster the earth recovered, the sooner the slumbering natural consciousness might awaken!

Fran smiled, perhaps this was the real reason nature truly cherished Hill.

And the better natural consciousness treated Hill, the more Hill took matters related to nature to heart.

In return, he received the most sincere care from natural consciousness.

Hill glanced at Fran, no longer annoyed, and spoke quietly.

”My spells will now have evil-banishing attributes,” Hill said nonchalantly, ”Grandfather, when you have time, take a walk in the forest below too.”

”What have you done this time?”

”Alice’s awakening of the laws of the Sun and Silvermoon might have something to do with me hanging the main subject of that painting in the Magic Tower.

That one got curious and came down for a look.

And the Sunflower, that was a surprise too.”

Fran sighed, ”Sometimes, I don’t know if having so much is really good for you?”

”With all the benefits in hand, why think too much about it? As for me, I’d kill a demon if I saw one anyway,” Hill said casually, ”At least now, no one can force me to do anything! That’s enough for me, and if it’s just the small troubles that come with the benefits, I don’t mind at all.”

Hill wasn’t one to take advantage of a situation and then act coy about it.

He took it as being a diligent worker, and now he was in the top tier among the world’s 500 strongest, with both reputation and compensation that others envied.

Far stronger than the hard-earned pennies he scraped together in the mud back in the day.

Even if he had work now, even if it were the deities, they had to negotiate, not simply arrange for him to do something.

Hill was already quite content.

Fran, of course, could not understand Hill’s worker’s spirit.

His life’s creed was to reach a height where no one could make him suffer indignities again.

Even gods should not expect him to do what he didn’t want to do.
