Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 354: Chapter 153: Hill with the Sunflower (Extra Chapter 6 for Unparalleled Heavenly Master Alliance Hierarch)

The moment Hill was flung from the Teleportation Array, he could feel that crushing force was quite strong.

No wonder only Official Professionals can use this long-distance Teleportation Array.

Hill took steps towards the spiral Magic Tower to the left of the Teleportation Array, Adrian was already waiting for him at the entrance.

”You’re here, that’s good,” Adrian sighed lightly, ”I thought we just needed to excavate and purify the Demon’s Den underground, but the deeper we dig, the more troublesome it gets. They’ve probably been raising demons for tens of thousands of years now. Teacher turned over the soil up to two thousand meters deep underground, and it’s all polluted.”

”The used Blood Pools are sent directly underground?” Hill asked with furrowed brows, ”What about the creatures down there?”

”His Majesty the King has already ordered to excavate a thousand miles around Central City, until we see soil that is not contaminated at all. Luckily, there are a lot of Earth Mages among the Undead.

There’s nothing we can do about the underground creatures, we just kill them on sight. And the corpses must be directly burned.”

To be honest, I’m really glad the Undead are numerous!

The demonized insects are numerous and disgusting, but thankfully they don’t mind.

The new Undead, they’re quite willing to kill those insects.”

It seems William has made a lot of newcomers stay. It’s really hard to exterminate the insects living underground with large-scale spells all at once.

High-level Undead get no experience from killing such Low-level Insects, so we let the newcomers handle it.

It’s nice for the newbies that there are plenty of monsters and no need to compete for them.

”What about the excavated soil?” Hill asked concernedly, burning it won’t work, it must be purified.

”The King has thrown it into a pool covered in Purification Arrays. It’s enlarged with Space Magic. Anyway, the priests of the Undead go there every day to purify with rain.”

Hill nodded his head, touching the Semi-Divine Artifact Seed Bag he brought with him.

This Demigod has existed since the times when the sun and moon as well as miracles were prevalent.

This Druid Demigod, who spent years wandering the wilderness, discovered a kind of Sunflower.

Born in places filled with death or an evil presence, it grows by absorbing filth, yet it’s filled with the power of light.

It would bloom into a bell-shaped flower. Inside are golden seeds.

At the peak of its power, the moment the seeds mature, the flower bursts suddenly, propelling the seeds forth.

And a Sunflower that lives long enough, surrounded by its offspring, will stop maturing its seeds as the corrupting power fades away.

Then the flower that doesn’t burst anymore will open daily towards the direction of the sun.

A golden light will gradually form in the heart of the flower, the longer it exists, the stronger its purification power becomes.

After Hill obtained these seeds, he planted them in the valley.

However, without the nourishment of corruption, the Sunflowers grew very slowly, and no one knew when they would bloom.

When Fran said the land was contaminated, Hill took the Sunflower seeds with him.

Although there were only a little over 100 of them.

It’s not easy to collect Sunflower seeds, after all, you have to catch them at the moment they disperse.

Fran was actually waiting in the hall, ”Come with me to take a look! Adrian can’t go, a mage ended up demonized yesterday.”

Hill followed behind the striding Fran in surprise, managing just to wave at Adrian.

”He also has to account for various materials, perfect, the construction of the Saral Royal Palace just finished, and he’s familiar with all of Saral’s departments,” Fran said without looking back, ”Don’t worry about him, Adrian knows what he can’t do, he won’t be curious enough to go down and court death.”

As soon as Fran left the Magic Tower, he took Hill and flew directly towards the huge pit a kilometer away.

”Other cities have problems too, but they’re not as serious,” Fran said with a stern expression, ”His Majesty the King has already issued an order to temporarily halt the attacks on the Elves and Dwarves, and to capture these creatures first.”

”Not Dwarves?”

”No, Dwarves only obey Dwarves; that must be the abyssal Dwarf Evil God,” Fran shook his head, ”All here are humanoid demons, all transformed from humans.”

”Where’s the demon that transformed them?” Hill asked.

Hill saw the Undead Tribe still digging deeper.

The underground, thousands of meters deep, was still contaminated.

Fran shook his head: ”Haven’t found it yet. But the Dwarves wouldn’t accept them either; they are useless now. Among the legends killed by the Undead, there was a City Lord.

I was originally wondering why His Majesty the King simply had everyone in the Lord’s Mansion killed, not even finding someone who could be questioned.

But these past two days, there have been no more murmurs.”

Hill sneered: ”Has anyone undergone demonization?”

”Thank goodness for the Undead,” Fran sighed, ”Their bodies don’t feel the corruption of evil. So now it’s them doing the digging.

Even as a legend, I can’t stay down there for long.

Yesterday a Archmage wouldn’t heed warnings and insisted on going down.

You know the Undead; if they stop someone once, they’re already fulfilling their duty.

Not to mention he had the attitude of suspecting the Undead were hiding some benefits.

As a result, he was directly demonized, and the Undead, recording a video, killed him.”

Hill curled his lip, he was asking for death.

Now that Fran has come to this place, other Mages have to listen to him; a Mage’s status is based solely on ability.

Those who don’t want to follow Fran’s instructions, who play the game of duplicity, are just fools of the Mage Association.

Saral’s Mages, even if they’ve accepted benefits from the Mage Association, wouldn’t disbelieve Fran’s judgment.

However, in the Mage Association, are there really people so dumb, to still cause trouble after seeing the battle in the starry sky?

”The Mage Association is a bit strange nowadays,” Fran pondered, ”I think the Magicians know more, which is why they’re so eager to break away.”

”I think it’s not just about the relationship between Dwarves and Elves,” Hill frowned, ”They’re overly focused on demon matters. Grandfather, becoming a demon also grants immortality.”

Fran nodded: ”His Majesty the King hasn’t said anything. The Sorcerer Tower lady has communicated with him; if there was an issue, she would have told him, given the alliance contract.

For a person with His Majesty the King’s character, that lady couldn’t possibly misunderstand him.

If someone really dares to play those cryptic noble games with him, it will only lead to a direct fallout.

It’s likely the Magicians only have suspicions, not evidence.

Or perhaps only that Tower Master and the two Magicians stationed at the Mage Association know something.

Otherwise, with the way they’re fighting with the Mage Association, they would have brought it up by now. To this day, they’re still just resorting to hitting at the Dwarves and Elves issue to criticize the Mage Association!

That Legendary Water System Sorcerer suddenly being so shameless, might also be related to this.

Lucky you just scoffed a couple of times and let it go, instead of arguing with him.”

Hill nodded, he hadn’t thought much about it at the time; he didn’t intend to delve deeply into that spell.

If someone else wanted it, he readily conceded.

Sometimes, taking a small step back on matters of little importance to oneself but of great importance to others, can indeed lead to a world of possibilities.
