Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 373: Chapter 172 Testing Hill’s Outreach (Extra Chapter for 83,877,171.2 Million Bounty)

Hill took a serious look around again and still couldn’t find it, then he swiftly and quietly activated all the defensive mechanisms on the Cloud Ship and moved next to Fran’s Magic Tower.

Although the flight speed of the Cloud Ship was slow, its defensive power was not weak.

Fearing death, Hill had stacked the Defensive Magic Array to its limit.

Moreover, even though William had already gone to the camp over there, he could not possibly abandon this place.

Hill looked at the six large ships that stood quietly there, certain they had a backup plan. He had always thought that with William’s habits, if there were no reason, he would not allow these ships to be parked so unevenly.

Orderliness was etched into his bones.

Moreover, Fran’s Magic Tower was actually on the same horizontal line as William’s King’s Ship.

Hill took out some paper and a pen and carefully drew for a while, finally sketching out a flattened Hexagram Magic Circle.

This was the Star-Attracting Formation, control of which, apart from the central King’s Ship, Fran’s Magic Tower also had.

Its greatest ability was to rebound.

It was unknown if it was because of the position of the Magic Tower, it seemed like a star floating outside the Array.

So, when had Fran set up this Array for William?

Had it been prepared in advance?

No wonder all the ships, even those brought by Adrian’s people, had been thoroughly checked by Fran many times.

This was a flexible moving Array!

William’s idea, right? The essence of positional warfare, heavy firepower blockades.

Definitely not just one Array could be used, how could William settle for only defensive ones.

Would the methods of warfare in this world change in the future?

Hill gently tapped his forehead, impossible.

Let’s not talk about how much resources it would take to form these Arrays.

There are few kings who could afford someone like Fran.

Although William and the God of Time and Space were cautious not to let things from other dimensions enter this world,

the Attributeless Crystals they brought were enough to surprise this world.

One of the important tasks for those from other countries now was to buy these Attributeless Crystals from the Saral People.

Although most of the bigger pieces had been reclaimed by William, the rest had mostly been gathered by Mages like Fran and Hill.

However, the Undead Tribe were used to using Crystals as large Gold Coins, so the merchants and nobles of Saral could still get quite a few.

Making money with Gold Coins to buy Crystals was a rare good deal, not occurring even once in several years, and almost all of Saral’s nobles had joined in.

Though these spies also wanted to trade directly with the Undead Tribe, for some reason, after speaking a few words, their true identities would be discovered. Not only would they get beaten up, but they would also be directly sent to the guards.

If any fool really dared to resist, the Undead Tribe was even more decisive, cutting them down directly.

If it weren’t for people like Hill and Fran, who could not be dismissed with ordinary crystals, and the wealthy William, there would be no need for him to mine Space Crystals.

But this kind of war expenditure, purely burning Crystal Stones, William feared nothing.

Even if others envied, they couldn’t learn, nor could they afford to play even if they burned their treasuries.

Hill turned his attention back to the diagram, this Star-Attracting Formation, unless someone could smash it all at once, would only result in them getting a beating from their own attacks.

This was a Magic Array presided over by Fran.

Moreover, William knew that the enemy might deploy a Fallen God, yet he still left unconcerned to activate the Divine Realm on the other side.

It was evident how much trust he had in the defensive power of this Array.

Hill slowly revealed a smile. Considering the dwarves’ habitual smashing, he figured he might actually see a lot of little stars.

Then he thought for a moment and parked his cloud ship in a spot that neither interfered with Fran’s control of the array nor compromised his safety.

Even if the array broke, this position might hold for an extra second, enough for him to burn a crystal stone and escape.

Standing in the study, Fran, with a crystal ball glowing in front of him, couldn’t help but laugh.

”Teacher?” Adrian, who was sitting on the side looking at the diagrams, couldn’t help but ask.

”Hill has already recognized the magic array and has now parked his cloud house at a safe point,” Fran replied.

Adrian stood up and saw the quietly stationed cloud ship through the window.

”If only Hill were a mage!” Adrian exclaimed sincerely, as he had almost gone mad from looking at the diagrams recently.

Fran shook his head, ”Don’t talk about useless things. Even if you found a student who liked magic arrays and alchemy, do you expect me to teach him? You still need to remember these array diagrams yourself.”

Adrian sighed.

”That guy Spencer, how come he’s sitting on Hill’s ship?” He glanced again and noticed Spencer, who was happily pouring his own drink, with a table full of delicacies in front of him.

”He wants to watch the excitement, other than on Hill’s ship, where else?” Fran pinched his nose bridge, about to say something, when he suddenly looked up and exclaimed, ”Here they come!”

A loud boom sounded, almost like it exploded right over Hill’s head.

Hill widened his mouth slightly, watching the God of Smithing being supported by a dwarf, the shield hanging over his arm, trailing in the air.

It was connected with a chain. Was this a flail shield?

It was probably because of the fear that a spatial rift would swallow his shield and he would never find it again that he had made a chain for it at the last minute.

It turned out to be a blessing in disguise; otherwise, accidentally losing his own weapon would have been embarrassing.

Though being hit by his own shield wasn’t much better.

But how much strength had he used just now?

He couldn’t even stand still; he needed the legendary dwarf behind him to support him.

Seeing that the God of Smithing was only a bit dizzy, Hill admired the dwarf’s head for being as hard as the legends claimed.

Fortunately, he had used the shield to smash the camp’s magic defense instead of the sword hanging at his waist.

But Hill had always wondered, why didn’t he use the hammer?

Wasn’t it hanging on his back?

Curious, Hill stretched out a finger, and eight tornadoes swept out, carrying countless sand and ice crystals.

The legendary dwarf supporting the Dwarven God of Forging let go instantly and raised the shield he had on his back.

This was a shield warrior.

But he only covered himself completely, completely neglecting the still somewhat dazed God of Smithing, even using the God of Smithing’s body to block one direction.

Hill blinked, watching the God of Smithing covered in sand and ice crystals come to his senses, first glaring coldly at the dwarf legend crouched behind him before finally raising his shield to protect himself.

Some of the words the God of Smithing had said to the Goddess of the Hunt might have been true; his standing within the dwarf race seemed a bit off.

Hill knew these dwarves belonged to the Evil System, so their selfishness was typical.

But Hill’s probing attack would have severely injured the legendary at most, yet he seemed completely unconcerned with facing the God of Smithing’s retribution back home.

Weren’t they on the same faction?

Hill increased his mana, transforming ice crystals into sharp swords and sand into stone spears, forcing the dwarves to continue defending.

What a perfect opportunity to test the power of his spells!

A God of Smithing coming down without a divine artifact was just too interesting!
