Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 388: Chapter 187 Red Rose, Spacetime Scare

Hill dared not say anything, but the magical beast was different.

Even a leopard, who understood human nature well, was the type to speak its mind directly.

”Your friend, does he owe something to that Theodore Ibala?” Merkel suddenly asked, ”When you see him flying, he even reached the rank of Magister. A Legendary, who needs to be so humble?”

Fran nodded, ”He was originally the kind of person who coldly observed from the sidelines and never got involved in those messes. He must have had some leverage fall into someone else’s hands.”

”Grandfather, the one who initially informed you that the Mage Association was going to give me trouble was him, right?” Hill blinked and asked, ”What did he say to you? Did he just inform you that someone was looking for trouble, or did he clarify everything about that Half-Elf Legend?”

”He was very clear.” Fran glanced at Hill, ”What’s wrong?”

”There must have been a problem back then,” Hill sighed. ”He might be colluding with the Dwarves. Although not necessarily a demon.”

”So, very few people in the Mage Association know about that Half-Elf Legendary’s affair?”

”There are not a few who know about his desire to become the God of Half-Elves. But there are not many who are willing to speak out,” Hill paused. ”The information given to me had relevant content that later disappeared. The mages who caused trouble are also afraid that after he became a deity, he would see everything written about him. Your friend knows too much.”

”I understand,” Fran nodded, ”He not being afraid of that deity knowing what he said after becoming a god must mean he’s made adequate preparations.

If he really has a problem, it should be related to that Demon Magic Circle in this place.

He was not bad in Magic Arrays before, but not that strong, and suddenly learned a lot when he became a Legendary.

He became a Legendary, even 20 years sooner than I expected.”

Hill said nothing more.

Fran sneered, ”Taking shortcuts can lead to big troubles; see how he manages himself later. Since he’s so eager, it indicates that in the Mage Association, those inclined to completely weed out Demon Mages are indeed the majority. Although it won’t affect their lives, who in the Mage Association doesn’t have some ambition?”

”He didn’t become part of the Evil Faction,” Hill said. ”That must mean he just took money for work.”

But the money he took was the resources to become Legendary.

At most, his Faction shifted a bit.

But facing total exposure and disdain, he probably wouldn’t like that? Thus, he sought refuge with Theodore Ibala.”

Fran had already perked up, knowing that his friend was not the person he remembered, decisively, Fran quickly let him go.

”I’m heading back.” He looked at Hill, ”There are many things to handle on Adrian’s side, otherwise you...”

Hill shook his head like a rattle-drum, ”No, no, I’ve got things to take care of.”

Fran reached out, intending to pat his head, then remembered that his grandson standing before him was already a Legendary and decided to withdraw his hand.

Hill pressed his head against Fran’s hand held in mid-air.

Fran showed a faint smile, gently patted his head, and turned to fly back to his Magic Tower.

Delightfully dressed Hill, happily sat down, lifted a cup of fruit wine, and took a big gulp.

He truly hadn’t expected that this person would elicit such a strong reaction from Fran.

Hill did not want his grandfather to feel saddened for such an unworthy person, so in his urgency, he copied an action Alice often used to please Fran.

He heartily gulped down the wine, Fran’s retreating figure seemed cheerful, and Hill felt his pandering had not been in vain.

As for going down to help, absolutely impossible.

Hill was quite content just having that material; he was not about to go down and invite trouble.

Adrian had been ordering the Undead Tribe around for just a short while when he, his rigid face, dragged Spencer to help.

The Undead Tribe listened to orders but always had peculiar ideas.

And always looking for shortcuts.

Hill had already seen many of those transporting materials jumping straight down.

That was a kilometer deep underground; Adrian hadn’t even started building, and he was already experiencing corpses flying everywhere.

Those cheerfully resurrected from the church and running back obviously still wanted to play.

Hill guessed they were competing to see who could fall the lowest before deploying skills to fly.

Even mages have died from falls, not to mention the Knights.

Once the peculiar competitive spirit of the Undead Tribe kicked in, even William couldn’t control them.

Spencer stood off to one side with a face ashen as iron, watching these newly entered Undead Tribe members.

If it were the original batch, experience mattered to them; they didn’t mind dying in earnest, but losing experience for fun, many were unwilling.

But this new batch didn’t care at all, busily striving to level up, they would hesitatelessly abandon their tasks if any fun arose.

Spencer felt he probably wouldn’t live long; a premature death was his best outcome.

William didn’t know if he had discovered what was happening here.

Suddenly Spencer saw a group from the earlier batch of the Undead Tribe coming out of the Teleportation Array.

He picked up his tablet, checked, and sure enough, William had posted a mission to lead the newcomers, specifically indicating the level requirements.

This group had just entered for a short time and many weren’t even at the level of Sky Knights yet.

The highest-level members followed the main troop to attack the Dwarf Kingdom, leaving these lower-level ones scrambling to snatch up quests everywhere.

The limited-time quests aimed at them appeared rapidly indeed.

Under that subtly competitive influence, that group of jaded Undead finally settled down.

Spencer glanced back at the King’s Ship; William still had the mind to manage things here—it seemed the matters of the Mage Association didn’t affect him much!

Indeed, William wasn’t really affected—it nearly killed him with laughter.

This time, he finally confirmed that the Elven God King was truly a clown.

He watched intently as Young William broadcasted live synchronously to him.

This fellow, draped in a strange blue cloak and sneaking up to the River of Time and Space, threw out a brilliantly red rose when the God of Time and Space appeared before him.

Even the usually calm face of the God of Time and Space showed a hint of panic.

William had long made it clear to Corona that as the Father of Elves, he was indifferent to gender roles.

Fortunately, it seemed the God King was just clueless, not understanding the meaning of the rose.

From his awkward beating around the bush, the God of Time and Space still figured out he was coming to make peace, and his expression settled down.

Probably because the God of Nobility had a fondness for roses, the Elf God King, thinking all humans loved roses, believed he was extending an olive branch of peace and was quite proud of his divine inspiration.

From his roundabout words, William finally understood that his aim was those schematics left by the Undead Tribe.

As for that rainbow picture giving all elves the middle finger, he didn’t care at all.

William reaffirmed in his heart that although the elves followed this God King, not all truly worshipped him.

If the Goddess of the Hunt had taken a fancy to elves of a different faction initially, perhaps the outcome would have been completely different.

If it were William, in a situation where marriage alliance was necessary, he definitely wouldn’t choose the strongest party but rather someone who could compete with the strongest.

Yet, he looked at the Elf God King again; a good face really broke all barriers.

If it were a shrewd and competent Goddess, maybe he could control himself.

The intelligence of the Goddess of the Hunt definitely wouldn’t allow for that.

William fell into contemplation; anyone who could compete with Corona’s son must also be the Divine Child of some other Elf God, yet he didn’t feel much about it.

Was this Elf God the one who told the Goddess of the Hunt of the importance of Silvermoon?

However, the Elf God King, who had once shattered an aura outside of Silvermoon and returned without achievements, apparently also believed that the Lord of Silvermoon could end up in his hands.

Otherwise, why would he agree to let the Lord of the Moon Elves help plot the Moon Goddess’s location for their daughter?

William lightly flicked his finger, contacting Young William on the other side.

Intending to end the conversation immediately and return to soothe his own startled heart, the God of Time and Space quickly received a message and began rambling nonsensically with the Elf God King.

He kept saying the Undead Tribe consisted of free souls, and the Gods of Time and Space merely invited them to this world for work but couldn’t order them to change their style.

Unless they violated any previously agreed terms, one really couldn’t force them.

Just like William, who gets cursed every day, could only endure it himself.

Since the elves listened to the God King anyway, it wasn’t much of an issue; in a few days when plants start growing, the patterns would change.

Look, they turned the Silver Wolf into a dog; even Silvermoon endured it.

Growing impatient, the Elf God King finally said, ”That Tex fellow, relying on the Bow and Arrow Shan Lander gave him, never knew respect; he’s been coming to mock me these past days, and I don’t want to wait anymore.”

He took out a pouch: ”I see you guys really want various seeds; these are offerings that the elves have given me over the years, let’s trade!”

The God of Time and Space was silent for a few minutes, then, under the God King’s impatient urging, nodded and agreed.

He really hadn’t expected it to be so easy to get information out of this guy.

Watching the Elf God King, cloaked and sneaky, step into the starry sky and then disappearing completely from his perception, he realized this fellow truly had a lot up his sleeve.

”This guy’s actions may be absurd, but he isn’t stupid. He told us on purpose, right?” William pondered on the other side, finally concluding.

”Tex is that God of Archery and Rangers, right?” the God of Time and Space quietly said.

”Right,” William laughed, ”No wonder Rose places so much importance on it! Her ex’s illegitimate son, an ex-lover’s nephew. Truly a grand drama.”

William smothered a laugh with his forehead.

The illegitimate son, whom Coron greatly valued, being sent to ascend in another world was normal.

But William truly hadn’t expected that the son of the God of Archery would also hitch a ride out.

And had been completely silent.

Nevertheless, an Intermediate Divine Power father wasn’t enough to confront the Elf God King.

But Rose being able to intervene in the affairs of elves must have been his help.

How come the Goddess of the Hunt didn’t take a liking to that Tex?
