Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 394: Chapter 193: Returning to the Beginning, Bloodline Truth

Hill leaned on the ship’s railing, the prairie under the morning sun, dazzlingly beautiful.

The sky was high, and the clouds were light.

The warm sunlight and a slight breeze stirred Hill’s small melancholia.

Merkel, with Alice perched on his head, vanished from Hill’s sight without turning back, moving incredibly fast.

This leopard was indeed known for its speed.

Alice barely turned her head to glance a few times before even Merkel’s running shadow disappeared.

Although Merkel liked to use his claws, Hill could sense a bit that this leopard’s innate spells should be gravity and magnetism.

Indeed, both were forces of the Earth system.

Hill leaned against the railing and sighed deeply once more. They hadn’t formally married yet; Merkel was merely a lover.

This leopard wanted to carve out a territory and become an independent force in such a chaotic world; it wasn’t going to be easy.

Maybe in a few hundred years, the two of them wouldn’t even have the chance to hold a wedding.

No matter how much dowry Hill prepared, it couldn’t be given away!

Besides, as time went on, Alice might stop liking this leopard.

There were so many temptations outside, and Alice’s life was so long; why tie herself to a crooked tree forever?

As long as there was no wedding ceremony, Alice would always have a chance to regret it.

Anyway, Hill’s home would always be open to this cat lady.

Hill sighed again. Forget it, he told himself, don’t try to console yourself.

He still hoped that the two could love and know each other, that their love would be as strong as gold!

Having a lover who understands and stays by your side was not easy.

Hill carried his bit of disappointment back to his room.

Soaking in a hot bath and then having a good sleep had always been Hill’s best method to relieve his inner sadness.

Hill soaked in the hot water, his mood calming a bit.

He pondered that this time, the Druids had left and probably wouldn’t be coming back.

He planned to wait a few days to make sure these Druids truly wouldn’t return, then he’d bring Cohen over.

So many of these Druids used the image of a kestrel; there must be many such creatures in this land.

Hill planned to bring Cohen over to find a mate.

Maybe he could even entice a group to follow them back to the valley.

Hill lay in bed, and before falling asleep, his last thought was still that Cohen was good; he would only bring back.

The ground level of the Central City castle had been completely repaired, and even a few floating stairways connecting up and down had been erected by Adrian.

Fran stood beside the floating stairway square, took out his rune pen, and began to carve an array.

He glanced up at the cloud house, motionless and quiet in the sky, and sighed helplessly.

Who knew that Hill, at such a young age, would learn what the pain of marrying off a daughter felt like because of a cat?

Anyway, it was just a period of disappointment; it would eventually pass.

There was no need to console him at this time, as any words would only make him feel worse.

Adrian hurriedly walked over: ”The Mage Association has sent people again.

This time, a messenger arrived through the teleportation array, delivering a greeting card.

I thought they didn’t understand procedures!

The last time someone came so suddenly, His Majesty the King actually agreed to meet them; really, it was because he had a good temper.”

”When did they say they’d come?” Fran casually asked, focusing on the arrangement of the array.

The last group had come to plead; the Mage Association wasn’t crazy enough to appear under the name of the entire association.

After all, Theodore Ibala was always irascible, impulsive; such rude behavior from him was normal.

As long as William still wanted to maintain a peaceful front with the Mage Association, he would definitely meet him.

At most, they could apologize later.

The identity of Legendary Laws had made them accustomed to being high and mighty. If William didn’t have the identity of a deity, a power strong enough to threaten the Mage Association, there wouldn’t even be an apology.

”Tomorrow morning,” Adrian replied with a strange look, ”It seems the Mage Association is in a hurry this time.”

”Those Demon Mages even betray the people speaking for them. Others naturally can’t be trusted more. Theodore Ibala must have started cleaning up as soon as he got back.” Fran sneered coldly, ”However, the deeper they dig, the scarier the truths they find will likely be.

Isn’t it said that the Dwarves drove away that troublemaking demon?

His Majesty the King searched for so long and couldn’t find him.

Even the deities in the starry sky had no clues.

So, either the Mage Association or the Sorcerer Tower would have problems.

We first suspected the Sorcerer Tower; Demon Warlocks aren’t reliable in these matters.

But they usually don’t have many who can draw Isolation Arrays anyhow.

Ultimately, it was the people from the Mage Association who had problems.

Anyone who used devious means to ascend to Legendary would continue using devious means to extend their lives; that’s normal.”

Adrian nodded, ”Will you go in person tomorrow, teacher?”

”The Mage Association has given me so many surprises lately.

Of course, I’ll go!

I am more than willing to stand behind the King of Saral, at least in this matter.”

Adrian smiled, ”Then I’ll go prepare.”

”No need to make a fuss. I’ll just wear the black robe Hill gave me last time,” Fran said without lifting his head, ”Hill won’t show up. But it gives him a sense of participation.”

”Okay, teacher.” Adrian hurried away.

Fran’s magic array would take approximately two hours to complete.

Adrian had to handle all affairs within this period.

Then he would start commanding the Undead Tribe to build the outer walls of the castle.

It would be best to get the castle’s outline done first, roughly construct the ground level, and let the King of Saral move in as soon as possible.

Maybe it was the constant thinking, dreaming at night.

With a faint sorrow of having his precious one run off with someone, Hill again saw that Earth Bear.

He was also marrying off his daughter.

But his daughter wasn’t in the form of a bear but a Moon Elf with pointed ears.

Moonlight-like long hair cascaded behind this astonishingly beautiful elf, indicating her bloodline.

The golden Earth Bear, with its head facing a massive tree, covered its ears with its front paws, and turned its back on its daughter.

”Father,” his daughter said in a voice as melodious as singing, ”Why do you have to be like this? Didn’t you know I had a lover long ago?”

The enormous bear suddenly transformed into a tall elf, ”Why would you choose an elf?”

”Father, are there any pure Moon Elves left now? He has some Moon Elf blood too.”

”You could go to the wilderness; there are many Earth Bears.”

”How could that be? Maybe father can tell me who my mother really is!” His daughter’s face was cold, ”Then I can ask what kind of feelings made her choose a bear as a partner.

Don’t think I don’t know; you learned to become an elf later because of her.”

”I didn’t know she wasn’t a bear!” The Earth Bear blushed deeply, ”Even in the whole wilderness, she was one of the most beautiful bears! Her silver fur was incredibly beautiful. I took her away in a fierce competition among many bears!

Who knew that you would be born in human form?

Then she inexplicably regained her memory!

She had studied Druid knowledge with those outsider elves; when she failed, she turned into a bear and ran into the wilderness.

Those years, she really thought she was a bear.

After her memory returned, she wanted to escape desperately!

Always worrying I wouldn’t let her go!

Of course, I wouldn’t stop her! I was also in despair, okay?

I wanted that silver-furred, graceful bear!

Why would I need her as an elf?

But you were too small then!

How would I know how to care for a human-shaped child!

So I agreed to let her look after you until you could speak.

But as soon as you could call her mom, she ran away.

The only good thing was she taught me Druid magic.

I could still transform into an elf and take care of you myself.

So even if you go to the Forest of the Elves, you shouldn’t look for her. She might not like you.”

”Isn’t it said there aren’t any pure-blooded Moon Elves left in the Forest of the Elves? She should be long gone!” The Earth Bear’s daughter looked unconcerned; judging by her expression, she had known this in her heart for a long time.

The Earth Bear ruffled his fur and returned to his bear form, ”She seemed to be one of the first hybrids; her parents’ status seemed very high.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t have begun studying Druid magic at such a young age.”

”Then why am I a pure-blooded Moon Elf?”

”The Earth Bear bloodline will expel blood from the Otherworld. But as long as you don’t say it, no one will think you’re a pure-blooded Moon Elf.”

”What about my children in the future?”

”Who knows if your children will inherit the Earth Bear bloodline. With blood from three races mixed, the Earth Bear blood may not dominate.”

The huge bear lay down again, turning its back to its daughter, ”You’re already thinking about children. I probably can’t stop you anymore.

But if you enter the Forest of the Elves, our father-daughter relationship will end here.”

”Father!” His daughter finally showed a panicked expression.

The giant bear spoke in a muffled voice, ”I am a child of Mother Earth. I will not forgive an elf who wants to harm the Earth.

The Elves also know about the Earth Bears; in the future, they will only be enemies to them.

Now, while the Moon Elves are still around, they don’t dare to harm the Earth Bears; who knows what will happen later?

The Goddess of the Hunt is as foolish as you! She is not much better than you!

I don’t know if you’re blinded by love.

But I will not take that risk.

I still look forward to the day when the Earth will revive.”

Hill saw the bear lying quietly under the tree, its ears slightly pricked back.

He hoped his daughter could choose to stay after hearing him speak.

But he was ultimately disappointed.

His daughter kept explaining, insisting that though her lover had more Elven bloodline, he would never betray her.

Nor would he harm her father.

Even though the Earth Bear remained silent and unspoken, she finally chose to leave.

The Earth Bear lay motionless under the tree.

He waited for a day and night.

However, his daughter never returned.
