Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 370: Chapter 169: Hill is Depressed After Being Given the ’Nice Guy’ Card (Extra 10 for Alliance Hierarch of Unparalleled Heavenly Master)

The excitement had died down, and Hill was lounging on the chaise by the window, lazily sprawled out.

Alice suddenly landed on Hill’s head, ”Do I still need to go release light into the Forest Array?”

”Not when those birds are around.”

”So, those are Druids? Meow~ Cohen is way more handsome.”

”Exactly. Alice, keep away from them,” Hill plucked Alice from his head, ”It’s best if you go out with Merkel.”

”Okay~ Meow~”

Merkel walked in lightly: ”Why did the Human King allow them in?”

”Those are Druids; they’ve been away from the Forest of the Elves for a long time and don’t have good relations with the Elves there. His Majesty the King is a reasonable man.”

”Can you speak in human language?” Merkel said, ”It’s not possible for there to be a reasonable king.”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh, ”It’s nothing, probably he wants to win over these Druids and cause some trouble for the Forest of the Elves.”

Merkel thought for a moment: ”Whether these Druids are shaky themselves or the Forest of the Elves thinks they are shaky, it’s all good?”

”Right. Recently, these Druids were probably worried about humans attacking the Forest of the Elves, so they’ve been watching and waiting.

No matter how nicely they talk, they can’t change their origin from the Forest of the Elves.

How many people would let their homeland be destroyed?

But with yesterday’s events, many of the human plans had to be abandoned,” Hill petted the confused Alice, ”So the Druids who are on bad terms with the Forest of the Elves might have other options now.”

”Is that very impressive?” Merkel couldn’t hold back and finally asked after a moment of silence.

”Very strong, stronger than all the Human Deities combined,” Hill smiled, ”That crest was just a casual gift from them.”

Merkel shook his head: ”So the Human King is implying to the Elves that as long as they don’t cross that part of the wall, they are safe? Incidentally warning them that the wall is the Human’s ultimate tolerance line, and crossing it means death?”

Hill looked at this Leopard, proficient in political thinking; not everyone would interpret that wall this way.

But Merkel was probably right.

Hill himself just understood it as a warning to the Elves, but he had not realized that it was also a subtle hint at peace.

No wonder the Elves really dared to venture out and work under the gazes of millions of the Undead beneath the human city walls.

Did the Elves see William’s hints that easily?

To be honest, after watching the Elves’ mess recently, Hill could hardly believe that there were still intelligent Elves!

And it had to be someone among the Elves’ high command, a person the Elves trusted a lot, to easily make them obey.

Otherwise, just persuading these different tribes to come out would be troublesome.

”Hill,” Alice suddenly called him softly.

”What is it?”

”I heard people mention Olivia,” Alice said curiously, ”They said it’s that dumb girl from our territory who walked into a den of thieves on her penance journey and got saved by a romantic rival.”

”A romantic rival?” Olivia’s romantic rival could only be that former Countess!

”Who did you hear it from?” Hill couldn’t help asking.

”Because there are people from the Noble Church and Olivia’s rival in love together!” Alice said, squinting her eyes, ”Among the cardinals who came this time, there’s that woman’s lover. Aren’t they all going for the Purification in the Forest Array? Someone asked, ’Do they really not care about that woman’s son? After all, he is your own flesh and blood.”

”What did he say?”

”Unexpectedly, there was indeed a child, and he was very surprised, but the child was very resistant.” Alice thought for a moment and mimicked, ”The child is still young! Let him stumble and struggle a bit longer, he first found some items suitable for knights.”

When he can’t climb up on his own no matter how hard he tries, he’ll know the advantages of having a wealthy father.

Besides, isn’t it quite normal for nobles to have illegitimate children? I don’t know where that child gets his sense of justice from.

Has Saral become such a noble country now?”

Then someone asked, ’You’re just going to ignore the child’s mother like that?’

He said he had already given enough benefits. That woman was also very satisfied. The resentment has already been settled. But he still pays attention, just in case something happens and he won’t be able to face that son in the future.”

Then they started talking about Olivia, saying Hill is a good person, which is why he raised such a foolish girl.”

Hill blinked, what? What does this have to do with him? This is Adrian Family’s mess, right?

Moreover, he really doesn’t need these guys from the Noble Church to grant him a good person card.

Listening to them only made him feel depressed.

”Isn’t Olivia on a redemption journey? So she goes around helping the poor and striking evil.” Alice continued in the tone of those bishops, ”She’s just too foolish. Has she stayed in Saral so long she thinks other countries are just as safe? She was originally of noble birth, yet she doesn’t even understand that the smallest nobility can be the biggest thieves.

If those countries had no issues, why wouldn’t they let even a single hair of the Undead Tribe in before?

Luckily that lady happened to pass by, accompanied by several knights from the Noble Church, and they rescued her from that den of thieves.

Otherwise, Olivia would only be squatting under the Holy Guardian, waiting for the day when someone di Saral on high received her prayers.”

Hill pinched the bridge of his nose, Is Olivia planning to come over here now?

Olivia is actually a very impulsive person.

People from the Adrian family are a bit prone to impulsiveness and often get stuck on the details.

There’s nothing wrong with Olivia wanting to climb higher, but she always makes the wrong choices.

Hill has no specific thoughts about this girl, after all, she was originally just a tool chosen for building the church.

Desire is innately human nature, but always making the wrong choices can make people think she’s not intelligent enough.

Initially, facing the Countess, Olivia was innately superior and had the Space-Time Church behind her, so she could completely disregard that lady.

Now, because she made a fool of herself again, she got rescued by someone else.

Hill can’t understand how she managed to do it.

Letting those minor nobles, knowing that she’s a Main God’s Priest, still try to kill her.

”Did they say why?” Since these cardinals were discussing it, it must have been resolved.

”They said it was a Demon Worshipper, Olivia found out that too many peasant children were disappearing there, so she impetuously investigated herself. Turns out, the lair of the thieves stealing kids was behind that baron’s domain.”

Alice sighed, ”They were very pleased, although it was Olivia who discovered it, it was resolved by their Noble Church. They even said their Main God must be very pleased.”

Hill couldn’t help but sigh as well, the God of Nobility would, of course, be pleased!

After all, this is a case of two sides vying for credit, and the one who arrived first lost because of her own folly, allowing the later arrival to win!
