Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 374: Chapter 173 An Evil Deity Using a Light Artifact

Hill knew that he had limited combat experience, so he always had a sense of crisis.

In the Magic Laboratory of the Magic Tower, no matter how many times he used it, he always felt that something was lacking.

Perhaps it was an old habit from his past life, wanting to practice and use every skill more, but there was simply no place for him to do so.

Looking around, there were no enemies in sight.

Because, in truth, few people were willing to provoke him.

There were many who sought to annoy him and pick a fight, but very few who really wanted to duel to the death.

Hill also understood that it wasn’t just because he was Nature’s Darling, but also because of the eternal blessing of luck upon him.

Picking a fight with him might not only invoke the unfathomable Fran, but also bring about sudden misfortune.

Dying at the hands of an enemy wasn’t feared, but dying out of sheer bad luck would likely leave too heavy of a grudge to move on, sending him straight to the Abyss.

Who would want to provoke such a Hill for no reason?

Those from the Evil Faction, of course, didn’t care about these things, for they had already lost their reputation.

But they were evil, not stupid—why would they target someone who hardly ever left his home?

To prove their evilness?

Anyone with such an idea would likely make even those from the Abyss think their brains were damaged.

Even the Evil Faction had no interest in doing something that brought no benefit.

If you think an action by the Evil Faction is meaningless, then you simply haven’t figured out what benefit they’re after.

The pleasure of killing is also a benefit.

But wanting to kill someone and fighting to the death to do so are not the same thing.

The truly fearless members of the Evil Faction are either Little Demons devoid of intelligence or controlled Puppets.

They would be the quickest to flee for their lives.

So Hill knew that if one day someone truly wanted to kill him, it would have to be a top-down blow or a group beating.

He didn’t hesitate to strike the Dwarven God of Forging, because he wanted to see if his strength could harm a deity—even a Fallen one, composed of Divine Power.

As long as he could deal sufficient damage, Hill would be satisfied.

If he could strike a deity, then he wouldn’t care about any Legendary.

Most importantly, Hill was confident that when it came to escaping, except for those few from the Gods of Time and Space, no one could outrun him.

Thus, he could finally shift his focus to offense.

But Hill had forgotten one thing: his power naturally carried the Power of the Sun, inflicting far more damage on the God of Smithing than his own abilities.

Therefore, he could only helplessly wave his hand, trying harder to increase the force of his attacks.

Seeing how much he could damage those of the Evil Faction was also quite satisfying.

Anyway, protected by a Defensive Shield, it would be a bit troublesome if he exhausted all his Mana—it would still be less powerful than casting spells normally.

A suitable target was hard to come by, so he had to make good use of it.

The God of Smithing shouted angrily, ”A lackey of the Sun God, huh? Someone is brown-nosing already! I won’t let you off the hook!”

Hill turned a deaf ear. If he was being cursed at mistakenly, what did it have to do with him?

Although the Dwarven faction would surely find out who was causing trouble later, the current Hill was brimming with confidence and completely unconcerned.

A Dwarven Fallen God without a Divine Artifact was nothing for Hill to fear.

However, Hill had thought the blame would immediately fall on him! Besides him, who else could unleash such a tornado?

Even if he wasn’t in good standing with other Dwarven deities, they should at least be aware of Hill, the discoverer of the Wind Element!

The God of Smithing, not even aware of the rising new Legendary of the hostile nation?

Hill really needed to do some digging into what exactly was going on with the Dwarf Deity System.

Even though the God of Smithing knew the caster of the spell had to be nearby, he stubbornly remained floating at the top of the void, refusing to move an inch and, incredibly, did not abandon the unconscious Dwarf Legendary behind him, still drifting there.

Whatever his reason for persisting, Hill didn’t care.

Seizing every moment, Hill wanted to experiment more before the fellow unleashed his trump card.

Who knew what he was still waiting for!

Hill concentrated, calculating the speed and combination required for the eight tornado columns to achieve maximum lethality.

By the open door, a rhythmic knocking sounded.

Hill turned to see Spencer knocking on the door respectfully and looked at him questioningly.

”His Majesty the King asks you to cease. He needs to keep this one for other purposes. Ah, please make it look like a struggle,” Spencer said with a smile, trying to convey his innocence.

The scent of that Temporal Artifact on him—indeed, it’s not fake!

It must be a Soul-splitting Artifact connected to Spencer from the temporal flat artifact, capable of protecting his safety as well.

William does value his cousin greatly!

Hill raised an eyebrow, his fingers flicked slightly, and the Ice Crystals began to vanish, with the tornado’s rotation speed also slowing. The God of Smithing finally straightened up, wielding the Giant Shield while searching for the enemy’s location, to no avail. After a few more curses, he was pelted by a sudden hail of stones.

Watching him fall silent, Hill then retracted the whirlwinds flurrying across the sky.

The God of Smithing outside, face bruised and contorted with rage.

When he first passed out, he failed to defend himself because he truly did not expect that, in William’s absence, someone could actually inflict harm upon him.

It was his divine defensive power that gave him the confidence to strut around so boldly.

No matter how numerous the Undead People were, breaking through his defenses was merely a dream to them.

And as for the legendary, he did not believe that after William had taken so many away, there would be many left in the camp.

Even if their defenses were strong, he was not afraid, since his mission was merely to test whether he could destroy this Purification land.

With the God of Nobility gone, it was even less likely for any other Main God to descend to the Mortal World for such a trivial matter.

He knew well how precious Divine Power was.

The God of Smithing’s face twisted in regret as he took the hammer from behind him; he regretted agreeing to those fellows to use a Divine Artifact just once.

Who would have known that an owner of the power of the sun god would appear and even stay in this small camp—why didn’t they go fight over there?

Isn’t the Sun God only supposed to reward actions that Strike Evil?

There is so much evil in the Dwarf Kingdom, so why not go there?

It just so happens that the Power of the Sun, which strikes evil, is the only power that can easily penetrate the protections of deities.

He worried that even if he managed to destroy this place, he might end up seriously injured.

Killing one evil Fallen God would be much more useful to the Sun’s Followers than killing 100 evil legends.

Spencer courteously thanked and then quickly returned to his own spot to enjoy the show.

Hill suspected that William intended to use this fellow to test the Array of these six ships.

Alice meowed regretfully, ”What a pity, Hill’s Spell looked so beautiful.”

”Its power is very formidable; that legend hasn’t gotten up yet,” Merkel always paid attention to the Shield Warrior lying behind the God of Smithing.

”He’s not dead,” Hill said indifferently, ”It’s elemental damage, not something his defensive Magical Beast shield can easily block.”

”No wonder I saw him and wanted to kill him,” Merkel licked her paw and glanced again at the legend following the God of Smithing, ”Even the Evil God is not that annoying.”

”Do you think the method of strengthening weapons with the fresh blood and heart of Magical Beasts was invented by this God of Smithing or provided to him by other Deities?” Hill leaned against the window and looked at the God of Smithing who had taken the hammer from his back and was gathering strength, asking thoughtfully.

”Either he has conned those Dwarves, or some Dwarves have conned him?” Merkel pondered for a while before speaking, ”So, the relationship among Dwarves is rather poor. Then what about the Human King...”

”Don’t say too much. Even though the talk here is certainly being blocked and can’t be heard on the outside, we should still be cautious and not cause trouble for others,” Hill stopped Merkel from continuing.

But he felt the same way; William wouldn’t keep this Fallen God around just to test the power of this Array.

Otherwise, he would have eradicated him completely after the test.

But Spencer was making Hill completely abandon attacking this God of Smithing.

Was William planning to figure out the reason for this strange relationship among Dwarves?

It seemed he had never given up chasing after the mastermind behind the scenes.

The God of Smithing outside finally completed charging up his energy and tore the cloth wrapping the hammer away.

Hill almost laughed out loud.

Here he was an evil deity using a Light Artifact of the Kind Alignment, and that hammer, it was actually radiating with the Light God’s power!

Hill didn’t know what was used to wrap around the Artifact, as he had totally failed to detect it.

Could it be the remnant of that piece of deer hide?

No wonder he endured the beating and didn’t dare to use the hammer.

Where did he get this thing from?

It couldn’t be his own, right? Otherwise, once he entered the Evil Faction, the Artifact would have to follow suit.

Hill propped his head with his hand, recalling the Goddess of the Hunt’s words, that this God of Smithing absolutely couldn’t let the Dwarves find out that he had completely entered the Evil Faction.

Perhaps what he told this Goddess was the truth.

This Artifact might just be the key to his necessity to stay Neutral!

Once he became part of the Evil Faction and couldn’t use the hammer anymore, would he have to hand it over?

So, in order not to be discovered, even though he knew that stupid deer was a Spirit of Nature, he’d rather suffer Nature’s abhorrence and kill it.

But the Goddess of the Hunt was definitely dragged into this deliberately by him; evilness shared among three deities was enough for him to last till the curtain was completed.

Thus, the Artifact remained in his possession, and the attitude of the Dwarven Deity System towards him was so hostile, likely related to this Artifact, right?

Even followed him to the mortal world, the Dwarven Gods in the Starry Sky wanting to snatch it from his hands would have to wait until this God of Smithing returned to the Divine Throne.

But with the way things stood, the chance was slim.

That’s why the Dwarves treated him as a criminal, even a legend dared to give him attitude, right?

Hill could no longer afford to think further.

Outside, golden light shone brilliantly as the hammer slammed down.

The six gigantic ships lit up one by one, manifesting a Hexagram Magic Circle of immeasurable complexity among them.

A myriad of golden beams connected to the Defensive Shield, just managing to hold together the fragmented defensive formation.

The God of Smithing stood at the apex, gripping the hammer’s handle firmly and pressed down forcefully.

This was a contest of endurance, to see whether the God of Smithing could hang on until the power sustaining the Array was totally exhausted.

Hill felt the hopes were slim.
