Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 358: Chapter 157: Fran’s Guest, Half-Elf Druid Viola

Hill left William’s place and flew directly back to his Cloud House.

During this time, even if he had no other matters to attend to, he had to stay here to observe how effective the giant moss could be and which type would work best.

The underground and cave areas in his valley were planted with a lot of it, and it grew very quickly.

But within Hill Valley, there was no need for purification capabilities, which left him feeling somewhat uncertain.

Fran and Adrian were also very busy. Through the window, Hill could see Adrian’s busy figure below.

After activating the magic array of the Cloud House so that outsiders couldn’t see inside, Hill got busy with his work on the Cloud House.

However, Fran, who Hill assumed must be quite busy, was unexpectedly entertaining a guest.

He sat behind his desk, gazing at the graceful and beautiful Half-Elf in front of him, trying not to speak for a long time.

This person who had jumped in through his window early in the morning was someone he really didn’t want to see at this moment.

”Opal, even though you’ve turned into a weathered middle-aged man, don’t be so cold! Faced with an old lover reuniting after a long time, can’t you show a bit of warmth?” said the young and beautiful Half-Elf as she curled her legs up on the sofa.

”Before I know your intentions, it’s best I say nothing, Viola,” Fran said in a deep voice.

It had been a long time since anyone called him by that name, and he felt a bit uncomfortable.

”Is it true that my grandson has the Earth Bear bloodline?” Viola asked curiously.

”That’s none of your concern.” Fran sneered, ”When you sent Melanie back, didn’t you say that her future had nothing to do with you? So her child’s future has even less to do with you.”

”Why are you hostile towards me?” Viola tilted her head, ”I thought we parted amicably. I was a good lover. Men shouldn’t be so petty; it’s no wonder you’ve had no one since me.”

”I’m doing just fine and don’t need your concern. Where are you living now?” Fran asked directly.

”The daily life of a Druid, of course in the wilderness.”

”Then why come out?”

”To observe humans, of course!” Viola pouted, ”They’re all watching from a distance. If humans can’t handle the demonic aura here, the Druids will have to step in.”

”You knew about this place long ago?”

”No Druid would enter this city, so of course, we didn’t know anything. If this happened in human territory, we could endure it, but this place is too close to the Forest of the Elves; no one wants their homeland destroyed.”

”Humans don’t think that this place will remain the territory of the Forest of the Elves.” Fran retorted coldly.

”Have you become so fierce now that you’ve become Legendary? Where’s the boy who used to blush, cook, and sew clothes for me?”

”He disappeared when we broke up,” Fran sneered, ”Past matters don’t deserve nostalgia.”

Viola dropped her nostalgic act, ”That Magician spreading the seeds is Hill, isn’t it?”

”Yes, he’s an excellent Nature Warlock.”

”That bloodline was given by me.”

”Without that bloodline, he would be an even more outstanding Legendary Mage and Alchemist Master.”

”Why are you angry? I won’t take the child away. He looks fully human; he wouldn’t be comfortable even if he went to a druid’s place with me.”

”Of course, I don’t want you demanding things from him just because of your bloodline. The Sunflowers are over there. If the Undead Tribe can collect seeds on their own, why not the Druids?”

Fran suddenly sneered, ”Didn’t you say you followed the Druids to seek fairness? Why? Is there discrimination in the Druids’ world too?”

”If they’re all Druid brothers and sisters, no. But any other profession that follows along is not discriminated against, but they’re not taken seriously either.” Viola shrugged, ”Since Hill is doing well among humans, of course I won’t cause trouble! After all, my daughter is already dead!”

Only then did Fran understand why Viola came in so aggressively at the beginning.

”Though her life was short, she lived happily,” Fran pinched his nose, ”She just lived too freely and played herself to death. Who do you think she resembled?”

”I read that little biography!” Viola’s expression was strange, ”Melanie would have thrived in the Elven world; there’s nothing wrong with liking handsome young men. It’s just too bad she was completely human.

But she wasn’t exactly like me! I would never choose marriage! Elves just like beautiful and luxurious things; they don’t have the foolish notion of marrying someone just acceptable.”

”How did you see it? I don’t think you would tell anyone about Hill’s matters. Besides, Melanie made an easy choice while living among humans.”

”Tell a bunch of rigid old folks that I gave birth to a human mage’s child?” Viola rolled her eyes, ”I’m not stupid. They’re interested in Hill because he is clearly loved by nature. Druids maintain the natural environment in the wilderness every day, but Natural Consciousness has never appeared. Of course, they want to know what they’re missing.”

”Elves?” Fran said speechlessly, ”They know what’s been happening recently, don’t they? The World Will no longer welcomes Elves. Natural Consciousness is even more impossible! No matter how beautifully the Goddess of the Hunt says it, she did kill a Natural Deity!”

”In the past, as long as Druids were still appearing, they wouldn’t think they were completely abandoned by nature.” Viola propped her chin on her hands, lost in thought, ”But recently, they can’t deceive themselves. Many druids have been quite depressed.

I find their self-abandonment strange. Nature no longer favors because it hasn’t taken back our power.”

They’re interested in Hill, thinking they might follow the Magician’s path in the future?”

”Laws won’t recognize Elven bloodlines. Magicians are innate users of the laws,” Fran shook his head, ”Stop daydreaming.”

Fran looked at Viola’s expression and knew she was just talking casually again.

”What exactly are you here for?”

”Waiting for nightfall to steal some seeds.”

”The flower only blooms during the day, then quickly seeds. There aren’t even buds at night.” Fran already knew what was going on after all this time.

The Undead Tribe’s information spread swiftly.

\”That’s my task, so I came to you!\” Viola said matter-of-factly.

She glanced at Fran’s tense expression and smiled innocently: ”If an old lover is around, of course, I would save some effort! Can’t you help me with this small matter?”

\”I’ll inform His Majesty the King,\” Fran asserted.

\”That has nothing to do with me. And you still haven’t said, is Hill’s bloodline really Earth Bear?”

”Yes, don’t you know your own bloodline?”

”I know I have it, but I haven’t awakened,” Viola said regretfully, ”My strength comes from being an Animal Druid. Can’t you understand how my Earth Bear bloodline came about?”

”I think your great ancestor would strangle you if still alive.”

\”Who asked them to keep it secret?\”

Young girls who seemed lively once attracted Fran, but at his current age, he found them too noisy.

Fortunately, Elves weren’t long-lasting in attachments.

\”Earth Bear and Elves are only Earth and Wood Elements, where did the water element come from?\”

\”Heavens! Opal, just look at me. Which young elf hasn’t looked at other races?

The outside world is full of temptations!

Elves’ bloodlines are so chaotic that we don’t know what might manifest; we can’t be born as Magicians!”

”Speak properly!” Fran felt his head was about to explode.

\”My father should be a Water Sorcerer!\” Viola winked mischievously, ”And a very powerful one, or my proud mother wouldn’t have noticed him.”

Fran’s first reaction was to recall the face of the Legendary Water System Sorcerer who had troubled Hill, relieved only when he remembered it didn’t match the elegance Elves preferred.

Elves only liked delicate and elegant faces, not those with a strong noble aura.

\”Hahahahahaha~\” Viola rolled on the sofa, laughing, ”You actually believed it!”

For a moment, Fran felt blood rush to his head. How had he ever found Viola cute?

”My father was probably also a Half-Elf. He seemed to have a Water Sorcerer mother,\” Viola finally behaved as she saw Fran’s dark expression.

She gave an adorable smile.

Fran thought fleetingly, Bloodlines were terrifying. Hill’s actions sometimes were very much like Viola’s.

\”If I weren’t three-quarters Elf, even with a mother of Royal blood, I couldn’t have lived in the royal city of the Forest of the Elves those years!\” Viola’s face twisted, ”I have always had a high status among the Elves!”

Fran glanced at Viola; indeed, her status wasn’t low, but she still had to introduce herself as a Half-Elf.

He had Tower Spirit notify Adrian to collect some Sunflower seeds from the Undead Tribe.

If they only wanted seeds, he felt William wouldn’t mind.

\”Don’t ever claim this land belongs to the Elves,” Fran warned Viola sternly, ”His Majesty the King won’t let go of land he paid a high price for because you’re Druids.”

\”They’re only saying it now. If they never admit this place belongs to humans, they’ll have a chance to take it back from humans in the future,\” Viola stretched lazily, ”After all, Elves live long lives, but human kings won’t always be above ground.”

\”Do you think humans can’t hold the Forest of the Elves?” Fran sneered.

\”The Forest of the Elves holds many secrets!\” Viola said with a laugh, ”Do you think the Wood Elemental Lord would want to stay after Elves were despised by this world?”

Fran couldn’t help but ask, ”Is it fine to tell me this?”

”It’s fine,” Viola waved her hand, ”The Dwarves know too. They have a problem with their golden flame city, though they don’t know what exactly. Both Elves and Dwarves are aware.”

Fran nodded; whether William knew or not, he had to inform him.
